Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1110s

Jose overdrives his car and goes off. He rejoins properly but then the next corner immediately attacks TT, eventhough Jose is going a lot slower. Still, he runs wide and collects TT, spinning TT around.

The incidents are starting to become a reoccurring thing. It's caused by overdriving the car and lack of proper carcontrol. This penalty will get 3 places lost, as it needs to stop and no more excuses anymore!!!

Server replay time: 1300s

Jose again goes off and loses control of the car. He then clips the wall and shoots across the road, ending up in the middle with no room for TT to go.

This is again caused by overdriving the car, however, he seemed to be a passenger of his car from the moment he went off. Hence I have to see this as a racing incident, but I'm keeping an eye out for these things.

Hi guys,

Yep it's me Jon the rookie. I had great fun last night. I've done a fair few on-line games but they're all like stock car racing - you guys are not only very fast but also very polite.

I'll be back!! That's if you want me too, of course  Wink

Cheers, Jon.

Welcome Jon. Hope to see more of you.  Smiley

Well I was looking to get a podium today with the viper advantage. Decent qual. on the formation lap I had an over enthusiastic Road Runner in my rear throughout the formation lap and he promptly rammed into me going into the limiter phase for the start. Really unnecessary to be driving like that on the formation lap.

Well considering i was no where near ya for the most part...pretty impressive stuff by me i guess, 2 places at once  Grin...yeah..did touch you coming to the line (for which im sorry), but thats rather different to ramming last time i checked...you seem to forget that GTR2 dosent exactly have the best collision detection....an considering the closer to the end of the lap we got, the further you dropped back from the cars infront...not just your race that gets messed up but everyone behind ya...so might want to keep that in mind for the next one!!!

I'm new to gtr2 so I don't really have any knowledge in GTR2 collision detection. "further I dropped back" There's a straight, we caught up to them going into canada corner. I'm experienced enough in online racing to know that driving so closely to the driver in front and having another one same behind you is the way accidents happen on formation laps. Especially when speeding up on a straight and then braking again for the corner. This isn't green after the last corner, it's green after you cross the start/finish line. Ample amounts of time for everyone to slot in safely with a shorter field even with a larger field. Pitlane limiter is like 59 kph or something. So saying I wasn't thinking about it is nonsense. Look at the replay you see that everyone slots in. You understand collision detection yet still managed to get into me... I understand you weren't trying to hit me on purpose but perhaps exercise a bit more caution.  Smiley

Yes i know...been here long enough...but cant be bothered with petty arguments...you win...enjoy

Guys, please do not discuss incidents on the forums. Exchange apologies via PMs or report bad driving using the incident reporting system. Do not discuss them in public or before long we will descend into slanging matches. Angry Angry Angry

Early days, but one common answer so far seems to be the 2.9.1.0 car (skin) pack.
Is anyone CTD'ing in qually who's still using the 2.8.9.1 car pack? (that was used successfully in preseason)
As nobody has said they 'qually CTD' while using the 2.8.9.1 car pack, I'm going to remove 2.9.1.0 from my PC & revert back to 2.8.9.1

If I start CTD'ing in qually we'll know it's something else.

Bear in mind that you won't be able to join the server with the wrong pack version...

Thanks Dave & I will be sure to test it in advance, but I should be fine with 2.8.9.1 shouldn't I?

UKGTR GT1 Skins for car pack 2.9.1.0 (FileFront)
Without this you will only see original GTR2 skins and 'default' schemes on skinned GT1 cars.
You do not need this is you have the 2.8.9.1 experimental GT1 skins pack installed.

That's just the skins themselves - you might as well try running with no skins at all. In fact that's probably a better plan - remove the skin packs. You'll get 'ugly' cars for the most part.

The car pack, ie. the physics pack, must match versions.
