Cheers Ginsters, (ill try to get online for a run tonight) just did a few laps off line with the setup from last nights GTL race (give or take a few clicks here and there) and my times are looking like they will be exactly the same as GTL 2:04.258 at the moment.

blimey Ade, nice times ! Im only on 2:06.7 so far with about 10mins fuel onboard. Would hope to lower that with a few more laps under my belt and lower fuel. I uploaded my setup to the SROU P&G folder if anyone wants to try it. First thing that struck me about the P&G version over GTL is the width of the track ! Its way too narrow in GTL. I guess GTR2 made more of an effort on the track front. Plus in P&G i can feel all four corners of the car working

or is it possible that the GTL track is how it was in 1965 & the P&G one is from 2004 (i.e. having been made wider/safer & with grand stadiums)? But I'm sure you would know better then me. I'll have a go at coming on tonight , need to get GTR2 & P&G working on the new PC & then work out why I was warping last night :'(

The new layout only came in for 2002, and the width hasn't changed since then as far as I know.

b'ah still stuck on 2:06's Its a lot harder to get a quick time in P&G than it is in GTL !!...for me anyway Talking of vanishing point Ginsters, im surprised you havent planned a little yank tank fest at somewhere like watkins Glen yet? Wouldnt mind an excuse to try out some of those vettes and cobras etc

Plenty to find Mark - 2.02.0 here on the server. I hope to get on later if I can sort out the work problems which come first in the queue

Nice times on Friday there Paul. I'm about a second up on my GTL times, with a 2.01 possible if I get the nasty chicane right even once :'( Loaded my setup to srou folder as sbg275hock if anyones desperate. If I had my way, it would be Yank tanks every week MJ Thats not a bad idea mind.

Thx Ian - Best is still 2.01.7. I'm sure i could do a faster lap given time, but the tyres go off quite quickly so you only get a window of about 3 laps to get a quick one in for each run. In the race I think the harder tyres will be needed, and even those will be pretty worn by the end.

Unreal - even with Paul's generously donated setup I'm still a couple of seconds off you chaps and the car actually feels pretty hooked up. Quite depressing at a track I thought i knew pretty well!
Think I'm going to have to make do with enjoying slip sliding around and watching from afar tonight!
This is the first direct comparison I've tested between this and GTL - the 275 at least is a long way ahead in terms of feel...just a different animal entirely. Even if you're not going to race tonight I'd suggest taking the opportunity to check out the difference, unbelievable fun. I only stopped lapping because the server was switched off for the UKGTR race lol.

I'd not say I enjoyed it particularly more or less, but it's definitely a P&G car that can be driven even on the default setup (even by me). My laptimes were about 2:06 which is about 1 sec behind GTL (not that that matters). Hoping to be there tonight.

boy, dont you fall over yourself with positive enthusiasm for P&G there legzy I'm on same pace as you so far. I need to get some laps in today as only done a few 10minute runs upto now. edit: just crept into the 2:05s with SBG's online setup (ta mate). Am surprised im so off the pace here, i know the track inside out and didnt think the F275 was holding any secrets in handling.

Hope you can make it Legz and yeah, it's frustrating isn't it MJ - can only think this place either exposes any flaws in technique (could be lack of left foot braking my end) so I'm losing out everywhere or I'm seriously haddocking it up in one or two places - 2 secs off with the same setup, back to the drawing board!
Anyway regardless of pace, judging by the tussles I was having with Keith in practice it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun...just as well, need to cleanse the UKGTL performance from my system LOL.

boy, dont you fall over yourself with positive enthusiasm for P&G there legzy As you may have spotted previously , P&G hasn't quite tickled my fancy like GTL... as I've found it too hard (for me) to be fun. But the TR4, Elan & now F275 have all definitely been much more drivable. Still a little challenge, but feels rewarding as you get the hang & it feels like they could each be used in close racing (which is what I'm here for) by a more average driver (i.e. me). So I would say to anyone who's struggled with P&G so far, jump in the F275 tonight & you'll probably have yourself a good race.
