iRacing are trying to tempt me back with an e mail for 3 months racing for $25.

Sorry lads but I think it will cost me more than that if I want to race anything other than a saloon car.

I think I'll stick with GTL, GTR2, P&g and RFactor. Plenty there to go at.

I wonder if they're starting to get worried about subscriber numbers and this is their toe in the water to see if lowering the price a little helps? If so they're obviously not listening to all the folks saying that it isn't the subscription itself which is the problem...

Yes, got the carrot email too. Quite good timing actually because I am just in the process of upgrading my system and so was probably going to re-subscribe anyway just to see if the new kit is up to running iRacing. So now I need to have it up and running before the 27th. Shouldn't be a problem, the bits were despatched from Overclockers today. I just need to catch up with my neighbours son as he is actually doing the build for me.

It's not an out and out gaming rig but it should do me.

Agreed and this offer will therefore not tempt me back Undecided

Couldn't help but observe some saying they don't miss league racing however, you came here to state that. Ironic? Soon as we get some UKiR I'll be back Smiley

I think you'll be waiting a long time. I'd be very surprised if they implement private leagues.

If there was a UKiRacing run by this organisation I would sign up for everything tomorrow, regardless of the cost - it's all about racing with/against the people you want to race against.

I'd be surprised if they didn't, eventually - but I reckon it'll be 18 months from now when they feel all the license levels are as populated as they're likely to get from public use.

I don't think they'll let folk set up their own private playgrounds. Why do you think they would do that over some sort of public league system?

Because it will bring in even more drivers who would otherwise not join.

It's pretty clear from some of John Henry's comments that they are seriously considering how to support private leagues.

I'm concerned that Iracing needs more active members to be viable in the long term. It makes me nervous spending more money on it at the moment.

I think they will have to look at private leagues and revisit the price structure at some point in the future.

I think a public league system will be next. If that didn't bring in enough folk, then I suppose private leagues may follow.

Is that not what we already have?

Public in the context of iRacing would be open to all members (presumably in a certain region to allow for race scheduling to work), controlled by them. Private would be controlled by groups of drivers (like the UKGTR mod squad), who would be responsible for the rules and membership.

What they have at the moment is pick up racing with a ladder system masquerading as a set of championships.
