Computers never do random (excepting the odd cosmic ray). Sometimes the patterns are complex and hard to discern but they never do random and if I had my way I'd sack any professional programmer who claimed they couldn't fix a problem because "it's just random".

Yes, yes - I know. You could say the same thing about most things in life - very little is truly random. But computers frequently seem to fail at random, often just after you thnk you 've fixed them. The hardest problems to fix are the ones which occur seemingly at random and for no identifiable reason.

Shame only 13 turned up tonight  Sad. Dave, I could be wrong... but does that mean that people aren't fussed about the qually session drop outs, so like you said in another post, we'll just push on with the season? Undecided

Thanks to Gazza & Dave for testing our new Oldie Corvette & F430 skins, chuffed to see them on track! Cool

Found myself in no mans land after 5 laps, big gap up to Simon & back to MJ. So stopped to wait at T1. Had some fun laps then with MJ in his Porka, till Enna got him  Grin
Did another lonely lap & decided to wait for Prof at T1. Let him past before starting the chase, was good fun again & like with MJ, I felt I was faster but not enough to pass safely on this track. Well not until Prof made a mistake half way round what turned out to be the last lap (5 mins early).

If I'd been thinking more clearly I'd have taken the GT2 version which nobody else did and which is the #1 candidate to replace my Lambo for the second half of the season.

No CTDs for me, but I think the turnout problem was one of new car packs needing to be downloaded, which I only just had time for before the race, then there was the strange race time which no doubt saw many missing people and then Enna being the track.

P.S. Those new Humyo links require registration so I downloaded off Gizmo IDNet instead, which for me ran at a nice and quick 850k/sec. However, just making the point that you make people register for even more stuff and things become even more inaccessible, especially when you consider there are 6 packs to download now instead of just one. Sad

If I'd known that (1) Humyo would require registration to download larger things and (2) FileFront wasn't actually going away I wouldn't have bothered with it.

No CTD for me. Actualy none in the last events, I think the last time was at Vanilla Donington.  Roll Eyes
Marcos is a beast, I got shiver down my spine with the sound of it.  tt1  On the other hand, I needed 4 laps to disentangle myself from the GT2s.  Tongue  Then I crashed.  lol

Sorry for the noobish looking maneover at the start TT. I pressed the brake and nothing happened. Forgot that standing start meant cold (no) brakes and sure it looked like I purposely nudged you off or somet, most embarrassing.

Then looked even worse when I was flying through the chicanes (more the first one than the second) way faster than your GT1 was. CAN'T SLOOOOOOW DOOOOOOWN! LOL.

I got a stop and go after only a few laps for being unable to control my car and then as usual at Enna a stop and go for speeding in the pit lane serving my stop and go. So I sort of went mad at the chicanes hoping that I would hit one and it didn't take long. Grin

In my defence my GTC Z4 was up against your GT2 car and was much slower on the straights. I think you could have passed at any time although my car made ground in some of the chicanes. Good fun trying to keep you back though, if I had realised it was the last lap I would have stopped trying to get a pb lap and concentrated on keeping you there.  Grin

Btw where did I miss the message about standing start? The race header said about knowing rules of rolling start as usual:
(1) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules - especially the speed limiter starting procedure and the rules about in-game chat messages.

Seriously, it took my fastest lap of the race to pass you! You were getting great exits & it wasn't till late in the straights my extra grunt was gaining. Enjoyed it, but did laugh to see under my racing profile I now have a gold 1st  lol (for the class win)

Posted in chat during the 2 minute countdown - with such a small field it seemed ridiculous to do an entire pace lap. laugh

Well, I would vanquish the Marcos' tyres with a full roaring engine start (and spin and make a mess of a start), so I did it cautiously. The mighty Marcos' engine just burped and would die if I didn't have auto clutch.  Cheesy
