Here's my first attempt at a skin.
I wasn't to sure what to put as the "Classes" in the .car file  Huh you might need to check that I have filled it in correctly.

You don't need to (and shouldn't) create the UKGTR_* files because they're generated by the performance balancing process.

Also, the classes should be classes="TestGTC, UKGTR".

The textures also have too many MIPMAP levels - it should 5 I think for the main texture, not 10. We've allowed skins in the past with too many levels but for all we know this may be causing the current round of problems.

Hi Dave

I've re-saved the textures with the mipmap levels reduced to 5, and I've also changed the classes in the .car file.

http://files.filefront.com/UKGTR+990014T+Team+Oldie+gzip/;13509825;/fileinfo.html

Can you let me know if this is now ok? I just want to make sure that any other skins I create, don't cause any unforeseen problems with the game.

Cheers

Jim

Please post corrected/updated skins in here as per the documented process - otherwise I end up checking them all myself and the reason we have a bunch of skin checkers is that I don't have the time, energy or talent to check them all properly myself. Tongue

The MIPMAP levels have changed but most still don't match those in the TeamUKGTR version - heaven knows what the proper numbers should be but 5 seems 'normal'.

I've just checked over the original DDS file that it used for the Redbull Z4, and it looks like that it is using 6 Mipmaps.
Does this mean that I need to change mine from 5 Mipmaps to 6, or will 5 be ok?

Anyones help would be appreciated.

Thanks

5 will probably be okay but TBH we don't really understand the implications and effects of these things being "wrong". If you have a chance to correct them tonight I'll put the updated textures in the pack tomorrow when I finish it.

For reference, this car shares the same number as the Oldie Saleen. It would be good if it could be renumbered in a future pack.
