Trust DG to pick a track that nobody suggested.  Tongue
As I hate Enna I'll take the Marcos so that I, you and we can blame the track/car/driver combo for lap 1/Chicane of Doom carnage.  devil

Darn, I was hoping for SE Zolder.  Undecided

Because it's a horrid place where small mistakes turn into massive pileups.
When DG said that, was he talking about Bathurst or Enna  Huh Wink

I wouldn't want to waste a good track like Sebring on a short race... Wink

if it is limited to 20 cars, then shouldnt those of us who have suffered the occasional or repeated Ctd get priority ? ie if you have had no ctds with new car packs then dont turn up  Wink...are there any?

Good point, Mark - hopefully we can fill the grid, but it would be very good if those experiencing the worst of the CTD nightmare could make a special effort to get in early and at least run through practice and qually.

perhaps a roll call of drivers who have suffered several ctd's could post their names in this thread, so that we have a heads up of who should be in the 20 ?

I will stick my name in first as i have had a few, though certainly not every race and less so lately. The 'only' thing i did do was remove the motec HUD overlay from the GTR2-XD thingy as i use PD as well on a 2nd monitor. Might be nothing, might be something  Undecided

Its in the GTR2-XD config file as this if anyone else wants to try it:-

; MotecHud visibility
; 0 = Hidden
; 1 = Visible
ShowMotec=0

One other thing, would reducing numbers to 20 only add another variable into 'what could be wrong' ? Thought we might be better off with say 25 drivers  Undecided

25 would be into the number where we've had problems - 20 is low even for a test race so if we don't get CTDs (or get far fewer than 'norma'l) - it will point to a network rather than car problem.

Oh well, Enna's better than nothing I suppose Grin

I've had a fair few ctd this season in various races it seems. Dubai, Imola and Thruxton come to mind. Whats been the average attendance this season? have we been much more that 20? I suppose it might be a way of seeing if we are stressing the server too much maybe seeing if we still get problems with less cars which should be less taxing?

I do run GTR2-xd but i also run the hud but have removed the motec.dds file which has removed the dark background. I've run that for a while, in fact for the last year or so.

Can we try some new tracks, Dave? Road America and Silverstone have become regulars, what about tracks like Le Mans, Road Atlanta, Montreal, or Monaco? It'd be fun to drive new tracks.

Before you shoot down Monaco - We raced at Adria. TWICE cursing

As Legzy hinted at elsewhere, with the sprint race on tuesday only two days after the test race for the skins and cars and we're still entirely sure why we get CTD with these addon cars how likely are we going to be running on tuesday? Realised i better get some practise as we havent really raced for a while but are we going to postpone the rest of the season to try and understand it all better or are we just going to carry on and wait till the end?

I don't really see any course other than ploughing on with the season. We're just not able to get enough people to turn up for test races (it's always been a problem) and the CTDs don't appear to be discouraging people from racing so I'm not sure what other course of action we can reasonably take given that nobody seems to be able to reproduce these problems off line.
