Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 410s

Legzy spins as a result of running curb/gravel. His car stays on the tarmac and he tries to correct it. Bara is off teh track slightly and Matt Rowe tries to get between the spinning car of Legzy and Bara.

It wasn't a nice looking save from Legzy, but it points more towards a racing incident, as Legzy wasn't rejoining the track, but trying to make out the best of his spin.

Next time try to flick it towards the outside of the track.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1953s

Tony is about to get lapped by Dan. When Dan tries to lap him there is contact and Tony spins off the track.
Never lift off or suddenly brake when there is a car right behind you about to lap. Keep to your normal racing line/pace and use headlights to indicate that you're aware of traffic behind.

The lapping traffic must also not follow lapped traffic too closely, there is a reason why they are getting lapped, and the speed difference can be quite big, so try not to slipstream too much when lapping.

  • Wiltshire Tonyadvice — Don't lift off or brake when being lapped

After getting really depressed with GTL this season i knew this race would brighten things up and it certainly did!

After another bad start i seem to end up where i started Grin and the first few laps were really busy with some close racing as everyone worked out the others driving patterns. Slowly realised my wider approach to that double righthander after the back straight meant people could dive down the inside as someone did but post of it was a blur but it was good racing with Phil, PRibero and Baracus and i think Mike Cook was in there.

Slowly towards the end i realised I was catching SBG and just wished it was an enduro as i thought it was on wednesday and even did some full fuel runs Roll Eyes Surprised by Oily telling me i have the 4th fastest lap in the race, I do like the underpowered BMW but blimey Shocked

Not sure i'll be back up there around Dijon as i hate the minis, but we do have our secret weapon Evil hey Tibs shifty

Gutted when that clip finished part way through the race, was lapping that up, what racing!  Think we need that GTL Camaro...and fast.  Smiley

Paul Ricard was really enjoyable, love the fast bits, holding a big drift in 3rd and 4th gears in the heavy Vette, the slow twisties weren't such fun, as Dan noted, had to wait an eternity for the nose to bite.

For a moment I thought I might hold on, as Ian did a great job holding everyone back and I pulled a fair lead (cheers mate  Wink) but then reality intruded and I realised didn't matter how big a lead I got, Dan would still make it through and ignite his afterburner and zoom by.  Indeed he did, fantastic pace, and then fell off gifting me the lead again, several times, didn't realise it was stuttering, glad it didn't ruin the race.

Start was tight, thought I was going to rearend Dan, had to lift dramatically and then aim for the middle, I didn't even realise Samb went for the same gap, the Vette shrugged it off!  And ended up out front.  Then the tyre grip fell off a precipice around lap 15 and I struggled to keep it going, went off a few times and was just dead slow, saw my 12s gap to 3rd evaporate...was cursing the extra 2 laps that took it over 40 minutes....and was about to lose 2nd to Samb when I reached the line.....note to Ian, when we're gonna drive big tyre hungry V8s make sure the race laps don't exceed 40 mins...please.  Grin Wink

Thanks Mike, wasn't really paying attention yesterday morning!  Brilliant race, love the David vs Goliath stuff, funny to see the Camaro make the same kind of over-driving error that we are all capable of and prone to when we lose a position and fight back.  Grin
