Moderator's Report

Only 3 finishers, and a catologue of driver errors.

Grats to sam who held it all together for a great win. Also to Fulvio who fought back from a first lap sat on top of the grass bank and only just missed out on the win. Will was there at the end too, as the three finishers crossed the line together.

No incidents were reported so there was no moderating for me to do.

I just have one word of warning about pit stops. The rules state that you should be as close to the pit wall as you are when you enter GPL and not 2 metres away like I spotted some cars in this race.
At Snetterton the pit lane is reasonably wide, but at somewhere like Kyalami a car 2 metres from the pit wall will cause big problems.
Please take this as a gentle reminder because I shall be watching and there are penalties for those who don't behave.

What is GPL wait?
I use a countdown timer on my watch normally - last night though I had earphones on and the light's out so couldn't hear or see it as Sam blasted past  Angry

its a bit of software you can D/L , it allows you to set the stop time and send a pits in or pits out message at the press of a key .

It only works if you can remember to arm it first before firing GPL up  Roll Eyes

available from RSC which is down atm but soon will be resurected  Smiley

Used to be available on the UKGPL files section of Yahoo but I don't know if we can still get in there.

Yup, it's here

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ukgpl/files/Pitstops/

But I don't suppose you can get to it and I don't have the time just at this minute to put it anywhere else.

Perhaps Phil or Paul Harrington have a copy?

For my prescribed 21 second stop, I was just going to stop and mentally just count off the time being rather on the long side to make sure I was covered.  I will look into this GPLWait business, tho.  Surely it's available on the GPLMZ.  If I find it there, I'll post a link here.

Interesting that Doni is also experiencing G25 probs in Vroc

I also have a totally random ff if I join via Vroc but works ok if i can join via IP.

Unfortunately, I could not find the IP address last night and was struggling with controls, especially steering, that were just so unusable.
As long as I kept things very safe and very gentle I could stay on the grey stuff which saw me run a few laps in 3rd spot, but as soon I began to push and  there was a hint of opp lock all control went out the window...much like the two wheels I fired up the pit lane.. Undecided

If anyone has any ideas why Vroc and G25's are not speaking to each other I would like to hear them.

No idea - I have a G25 and never have an issue  Huh
Do you run through the wingman software? I don't even fire it up for GPL so it defaults to my normal setup. Maybe you've only got the software setup for one of the EXE's?

Tried joining the server, succeeded, unfortunately just as I'm about to leave the pits the router plays up and disconnects me. Might get a couple points if there wasn't a lot of participants.

Good report for Albi BTW Clive. Wink I wouldn't count Snetterton as one of those 3 races under probation.

Congrats to Sam for another win! Cheesy

My G25 worked perfectly on VROC for about a year..then ??!! I get probs Undecided.
Not aware that I actually changed anything that might impact on the workings of my wheel, but suddenly VROC direct is a nightmare, but Igor is still perfectly OK.
