That was an exhausting race. Very often in Endurance races I find myself in 'no man's land' twenty or more seconds behind and ahead of the nearest people.
That was my race tonight exactly. No mans land

EDIT - Oh I forgot to mention, one of my cats threw up on the carpet in the lounge as I was swapping my PC's about... had to clear that up before I started too! Things were conspiring against me tonight  laugh

Great race again  Smiley

Start was good, Purdie was in my mirrors but i managed to pull away a few tenth every lap and started to get a nice gap but any slight mistake and he would of been right on me. Pitted about half distance with i think a 15 or 16 second gap. Came back out and Purdie was 60 seconds ahead. Started gaining some time back, laps kept going and Purdie & RR still hadn't pitted lol, must of been a very long first stint. Came up behind Napo knowing i had to put some quick laps in while Purdie was pitting but couldn't get past, luckily Napo pitted and i came round as Purdie left the pits 2 seconds behind. (a few more laps behind Napo and Purdie would of had me).  Concertrated hard and slowly pulled away again. Lapping was quite hard as all these cars are pretty close but alot of cars were faster down the straights than me so thanks to everyone who let through. Made no mistakes and finished a good 20 secs ahead of Purdie.

One scary moment was i think Picnics engine blowing up in my face lol

Grats Purdie, well done H@l great 3rd.

Good team points tonight with Ted aswell.

Yep, good race for me given my previous form this season. Apart, that is, from the first lap  Embarrassed Big sorry to nsfast (I think) at the first hairpin - just couldn't see my breaking point in the dark and hit your rear end. Hope it didn't damage you.

Same problem at the 2nd hairpin but fortunately didn't make contact with anyone that time.

Then after that it was fairly consistent (and quite lonely) stuff. But nice to avoid further stupid mistakes for once.

Grats to teammates Gazza and H@l for the podium finishes, and Purdie for 2nd.

Wow! what an intense race. shame i have missed most of this season as I LOVE the 997 Cup car  tt1 ... a really realistic version (apart from the most dodgy looks of the new cars, u can see it is a modified stock 996  Lips Sealed )

Quali'd 2nd and was happy to get within 0.5s of Gazza's mental pole time  thumbup1

The Z4's dominated the second and last sector of this track, with the 911 pulling back a few tenths down the long straights in sector one  Tongue ....and the Vipers closing on the 911s with a strong top end  scooter

Start was okay with the collision behind buying me some time. A quicker H@L9000 was hanging on and at best I was matching Gazza's laptimes but he was quicker and pulled out a steady gap. After being tentative on cold tyres I picked up the pace and made time over H@L.

I ran on meds and 80 litres, pitting 2/3rd's of the way into the race (2nd longest runner after RR  Wink).... I gained the 10 secs gap over Gazza exiting just behind him after refuelling and replacing just the front meds......Predictablly I then suffered serious oversteer ending the race with 24 wear on the rears. Seemed they didn't wear in the linear fashion I predicted  Undecided

I had a few off-track excusions cos of this Roll Eyes losing chunks of time to Gazza and always aware of a consistent H@L in third.....  shifty

Very happy with 2nd! and grats to Gazza for a great consistent and very fast race....laugh ..... & good come back Roadrunner  Wink

That was a really tough race!

I qualified 4th and did the same lap like 4 times loosing a bit in different areas on each lap. However I was content with 4th as I did not want to be in front of those 3! Cheesy

Come race I think I forgot about cold brakes, the braking looked good until I got closer then tried to move to the right to avoid but I ran into Busi. Sorry! Sad
After that I was down in 9th and I wasn't able to catch up for the 1st lap or two. After those guys in front started to battle I was able to close in and join. I couldn't get by anyone tho. Made a few mistakes but managed to hold on everytime without spinning. Unfortunately I was the only one not to miss Robert Burton's frozen car and slammed right into him.

I started going again and joined in on Prof, Carl Hart, and Spanner's battle. The car was proving even more difficult to drive as I was getting some understeer because of the damage. I managed to get by Spanner only to make a mistake yet again. Then after a few laps I pasted Spanner going into turn 2, while at the same time Prof and Carl Hart were battling thru turn 2 and 3. I managed to get close to them and got a tow and we went 3 wide going into the hairpin! Shocked I was on the inside and took the position from both of them. Passed 3 cars in a span of 3 corners! Unfortunately my car was giving me hell and I managed another mistake heading into the stadium and gave back a position to Prof. Took another few to get by him again but unfortunately these mistakes were very costly! After that I finished my stint and got repairs and new tires. I was very surprised to come out in 7th after all the time I lost.
I tried to catch Lazlow but there wasn't enough time and settled for 6th. Smiley

Seems like I can qualify decently but everytime in race I seem to struggle vs everyone else! Don't know what to do. I was running Medium fronts and Hard rears. Could really use some pointers! Can't seem to keep the car under control when the tires get worn out.

Congrats to Gazza, Purdie, and Hal on the podium. Smiley

Here's one for Legzy Smiley who preferred to press Esc than collect me. I'm not sure I could force myself to do the same but if I'll have to I'll do it for you. Cool

Made a pb in quali and it was enough for ... wow, 7th place. Tongue  Made some places in the first stint after some mistakes from others and managed to hold my place against Busi (again Wink ). Hats off to ya Busi, in that a bit slower car. Fortunately you were much faster in track parts where you couldn't overtake and slower in all others. Grin  Towards the half RR caught me and "Busi tricks" didn't work, he went by. hammer  We had a scarry moment when a Z4(?) was frozen on track in the middle of T1, RR was 2 metres behind and we both had to go off to get around it. We had a contact but no harm done. sweatdrop
Went to pit at half, tyre wear was high and I needed 15 litres of fuel. Fumbled it all. Angry  Took tyres, but no fuel. Had to pit again, took fuel and tyres. stupid  Came back 13th and made it to 8th in the end, had to work hard to pass Pete, Carl and Prof. MJ and Spanner were kind enough to spin in front but away, so I could pass unmolested.
Had some trouble trying to unlap from RR who didn't pit yet. Lost some 5 seconds there for sure, both of us. Would be better if you just let me by, I was a whole lap behind. you.  Sad  Btw, when I was driving away (in front) from RR a blue flag was waving (2nd warning!) and I was afraid I'll get disqualified - or is there no flag rules here?

No problem Ted. I'm sure it didn't effect my race. My pace was too slow and inconsistent to compete with some of the exceptional driving on display last night.

Congrats to the podium. Nice to see 57goldtop complete his first race.  Smiley

Hi guys, Well I think it went pretty well, I knew the track well from my F1 days.
Didnt realise it was a Endurance race, and it was at night!
But had decent start was battling at back, my lap times when I 1st started were in 52s and gradually in race i did 46s/47s, I know its still slow compared to lot of you, but I think thats a decent progress. Car was feeling okish, I could keep it on the track, but it was hard to push that bit more to go quicker.
Did feel more confident in this race than the few races I have done in past.

I didnt realise I couldnt get on server at first, then I had to install that new car pack, which was fine to connect with after, not sure if Syd was having this problem.

Hope you all agree with me, and hope you guys are ok with me racing with you.
Look forward to any comments/suggestions you have.

I got on the server seconds before the start with no practice after all the problems. Still haven't found out how to turn off the rev meter from the HUD.
Then I parked it after 9 laps to watch the MotoGP race. That turned out great.

Thanks for that nsfast Smiley

I was so pleased that I managed to get round without any major incidents apart from a sticky speed limiter at the start and running wide at Mobil a couple of times.

Thanks to Gazza for giving me some setup help in pre practice which helped me to get the 430 driving like a dream. I was still way off pace and spent most of the race looking in my mirrors and not wanting to hold up the fast guys (everyone else).

Can't wait till next time.
