That was great fun. Shame that it ended so quickly  Sad

I had some good racing with Maestro, but on last corner he lost control over his car and we crashed.

PS: Please put this track into S18 Wink

That was fun , got meself into the wassa mobile and with a finely honed set up (conived from a disgruntled wassa) which I then tweeked further to perfection during the allocated practise period , the resulting  (I could almost see the start flag ) grid slot was accomplished with a full tank , so I was looking forward to a good sesh  Smiley

Not to be as this Temp Wassa (should that be wassok ) found hiself going into curva grand with an whole armfull of understeer , the reason being he was now driving the default set up which was about as usefull as tits on a buddah  Roll Eyes

So after a few early mistakes I dug myself out of the sand trap and resumed in a promising 12th place , settles down to my come back drive only to enter the main arena and find the track completley covered in peices of racing machinery , with no where to go i pulled my balaclava helmet over my eyes , crouched down in the cockpit and prepared myself for the unavoidable but inevitable final .

P.S.

First time in the honda (suprised the instruments were round )
Monza track looked georgeous
Why couldnt I here any other car engines ? (needed to really watch them mirrors with brm's and stuff creaping up in stealth mode )

P.P.S

All finishes (even those of the worst kind) are definatly not devoted to "her"

grats to the winners, pod and finishers , whoever you were   Smiley

P.P.P.S.

Excuse the grammar and speeling ive been on the wine gums all afternoon  Roll Eyes

Enjoyed that and not a bad turn-out considering it was a spur of the moment race with little notice.
A few opening errors then some nice racing with Bernie until he couldn't avoid the pile-up and I did. After that it got lonely out there.
Maybe a run in the 69's might be fun??? I ran it Pro to tax the server, Int next time...

Monza track looked georgeous

 Smiley Grin

geeeeee, that was pure fun.
great idea Vosblod thx for that .

got an thrilling race all over from the start till the last lap , where at Para my engine decided to dy.
guess as an tribute to a spin at Lesmo 1 , I managed by downshifting one gear to much (lol , forgott I am in a ferri and not in a cooper with 6 gears in a box ).

Cant believe : 280kmh topspeed  ,, geee thats breath taking....was pretty exhausted after 13laps of slipstreaming.
what a big fun .

I joined this race by accident and, as it happens, I left in much the same way. Only in the latter case it was over the top of the banking .
I joined igor looking for Imola but decided to join the monza pracy server for practice with other cars, something that is difficult to get.

Even when everyone started to join the server I didn't realise this was the real thing.

even when I found that the race length had been upped to 13 I didn't twig.

was still trying to figure out how to get rid of Natan's attentions when I got into a tank slapper and shot off the top of the last banking.

But, what a tank slapper!!! clap clap I Am Not Worthy

I was two cars behind and got the full screen version Grin If you are going to do a tank slapper what better place to choose.
After laughing at it...I then realised that I had to miss it!! Undecided helpsmilie sweatdrop sweatdrop
You seemed determined to keep me guessing until the last possible moment. lol

I had major problems with my gearing, I could happily stay with the Fezzas and BRMs as long as I sat in their slipstream and comfortably outbrake and out corner them. But, as they all decided to take sudden and impulsive forays into the Italian undergrowth at various times I eventually found myself all alone and about 6 secs in the lead??!!. Trouble was without that tow I was losing 2-3 secs a lap and they caught me again Undecided, lifes's just not fair is it???
A great 3 way dice between Uwe, Nicky and myself until Nicky's engine expired , continued as a 2 way battle but was gatecrashed by a green machine sneaking up in the slipstream as we crossed the line. Still 2nd spot with a car that was just dead meat on the straight bits was better than I expected after the first lap.

Bernie was almost subverted to the dark side after sampling the delights of HER machine and the 10k circuit should be considered for inclusion in next seasons races..the slipstream battles were awesome fun.
Such a shame that Clive decided to practice high diving of the banking instead, as it would have been fun. Roll Eyes

PICS! For the love of all that is Holy, PICS! Grin

I want Monza10k on the calendar this season, replacing ordinary Monza. While that was fun in D1 and Amateurs last season, 10k should be even more fun. I love the track, shame I couldn't race it yesterday.

That was a fun race.  I joined late and was frantically trying to get the gearing setup so I could at least run flat out along the straights without reaching the redline by half way along them.

Qualified far down but got passed a few in the early laps, and gained more places by people throwing themselves at the wall / over the wall / into each other.

I eventually found myself running in 4th but losing time to the leaders until Uwe easily caught me with much faster pace.  Even though he was much faster I was very appreciative that he didn't take a lunge up the inside risking everything to get past and waited until getting a clean run, excellent considerate driving.

As soon as Uwe passed I had the advantage of his slipstream and my laptimes tumbled! from 39's into 36's!  I was more than happy not to attempt any sort of move to overtake (except once where I braked too late and combined with the faster speed from the slipstream I nearly ended up running us both off, just about slowed it in time though  Shocked) and see if Uwe could tow us up to the leading 3.

Slowly but surely we were gaining until 3 laps to go I lost the tow and started going backwards again.  All I could hope for was to keep driving flat out and for the guys to hold each other up a bit battling for position, which they dutifully did and I managed to pick-up a tow again.

Running 4th (as Clive L had decided on a high jump competition some time earlier) now keeping a watching brief on the real fast boys in front I saw Nicky pull off right just before pit lane with a blown engine.  I'd lucked in again, to pick up 3rd.  Could I..........nah...........well...........what the heck........

I followed Uwe and Evil Clive trying to keep as much tow as possible and see if there was any chance on anything like a pass without sending us all into Clive L's high jump competition.  We rounded the final bank in close formation, it was a drag to the finish, but there was no way to get level with them, and Uwe and Clive took their rightful places ahead with the gap 1st to 2nd at 00.039 seconds and 2nd to me in 3rd 00.245.

Fantastic fun finish to a fairly long race.  Tim came through to be the 4th and final full distance finisher an honourable 44 seconds back after getting caught up in an earlier incident.  Good run Tim. Smiley

Congrats to Uwe and Evil.  Commiserations to Nicky, not a fair way to go out for you really after running so long up front.

Great fun.
