You can solve it by using an even points spread, but I'm doubting that being a good idea Tongue

On our team forum we were discussing it, seen the point in proposing it and also seen the point in it being hard to organize and discouragement(?) to attract drivers. Hope we don't get reduced to moaners 'cause this really is NOT the main point of it. nono  It's just that the change of trend of points being gained is much different if pody points are being snatched away suddenly in the last two or three races.  Sad

But yes, DG, I can also see your point and the last thing I'd like is drivers getting away. Sad Even so, 50% attendance as a condition to Champ points seems sensible to me. Losing connection/disco/freeze would still count as being there, of course.  Smiley

It's a shame some people don't have the option of joining every race as they have lives around it. Lips Sealed.

Take my points away if that makes the Legends happy  Hit with a wet fish

See, that's the post I was trying to avoid.  Sad  Glad to have you around, Rusky, and Jon, and SBG and Freq and Kerr and Busi and all aliens. You always set a hard margin and something to hope someday to achieve.  Smiley  Though I feel as much as I try it stays right in front of my nose, like a carrot to a donkey.  Tongue
Still the best League here, just let's be friendly and try to see others views, ok?  Wink

Could you not have a registration period at the start of a season for people who intend to compete in most of the rounds?
Anyone else who turns up will be entered as a “guest driver” who will not score points.
The guest with the most wins could be the guest champion.
It lets latecomers fight for podiums without affecting the championship.

yeah thanks for that useful input JR  Roll Eyes try taking those 'i hate legends' blinkers off and read it again. Wink
This isnt about 'me', its about the top 5 drivers in the champs at the moment in close season long battles.
the post was nothing at all about stopping people driving, it was about the points availability. We've all got busy lives to fit our racing in around which has made it even more gauling when we attempt to make as many rounds as possible in our hopes of champ glory, only to then see it all snatched away at the end by you aliens returning.  Tongue I wouldnt want anyone not attending, hence me saying they still get their wins/positions recorded in the standard srouk hall of fame/stats.
This situation hasnt arisen before but its now affecting all 3 series at their endgame (both enduros and GT2 sprint).

You wouldnt get this situation in any real motor sport...can you imagine schumi being allowed to turn up for last 3 rounds of, say BTCC etc and blitzing the field.  Grin

Like i said, it was just a polite suggestion/request for future series and opened for debate here.

In my opinion everybody has the same right to score points in each race... people only attending one or two races already have a penalty, which is not being able to fight for the championship Smiley

The top 3 slots are worth a lot of points so its quite painful when they are nicked this late on and can make all the difference to end of season tallies.

Instead of complaining about them taking the points, we should be thankful because they give us the points from all the races they don't attend Grin

I think the reason why this pops up now is because there are Legends drivers at the top of the table. I've taken points off teammates and other teams in the passed, but that wasn't a problem back then for some  Roll Eyes

Ever the controversial one MJ Grin

As much as i hate the dropped scores or rounds method of some real life series's it does have merit especially if we continue to have mass disco's and freezes due to running the new cars. You can lessen the impact of connection issues and allow it to fit in around real life.

I can understand why JR has reacted like he has. Perhaps, like me, to bring this up now, and not at end of season, doesn't make him or me feel very welcome until this season is over. It reads like a suggestion that JR and his ilk shouldn't be allowed to join or it will spoil a "championship" fight for this season. Maybe I've taken it wrong but when has a championship taken precedent over a warm welcome and having some fun here? The timing of this makes me wonder if I'll bother with any more races this season which is a shame as I've finally got time for GTR2 races, my fave. Or, perhaps I've got it all wrong.

Dropping scores, just the one mind, gets my vote as well.

Disclaimer: 'Most' aliens are totally decent people who always offer to help out with setups and advice, so the original post about POINTS and not PARTICIPATION (as is now being hinted at) was never intended to offend any of them. The rest of you offended ones can kiss my hairy a*s.  Kiss
