Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 4092s

I don't like having to moderate team mates but since no other team has moderated any UKGTR2 race since last September (!) here goes..

Jeffrey Ruskus has lapped Jose into turn three. Further on in the lap both lap a Team Oldie car and Jose misjudges Jeff's speed into the first part of the chicane causing him to leave the track.

The traffic, time and weather are slight mitigating factors but this appears a straightforward rear end shunt and I shall apply the prescribed penalty as it involves a lapped driver and not two fighting for position.

yeah actually, top 6 are all in a battle royal for top 5 honours in the points. You will have to keep a wary eye on that TS man DG snapping at your heels  Wink
Though i wouldnt bet against Ginsters now scoring 3 wins in last 3 races and joining the fray, which seems daft but thems the rules. Perhaps the points tallies are not high enough to prevent very late champ position grabbing ? Either that or we'll nick his pasties and wheel nuts and thwart his bid  Grin

I'm a bit faster than GT2s in my Marcos here. Can I compete in GT2 class with it?  Tongue

Just tried the 997RSR after testing the 996RSR, and I was immediately 1.2 seconds quicker Shocked in the dry!!!!!!!!

If we keep the 996 for next season DG, we may need to tweak it ?? or...may even go with the 997 for the last two races if there are no objections and pray it stays dry nuke

Much to MJ's relief i'm sure, i can't make this as i'm up in York all weekend and probably wont be back till late.

Huh Why would i be relieved you not turning up Spanner? are you close on points? (at work cant see table)

Heving read you posts regarding the last few races you seemed to want only the top 4, 5 in the champ running and seem to resent all others joining. And now warning the GT1's to be careful around you guys which i'm sure might make the slower GT1's a bit more nervous! I guess some of your comments were mainly aimed at the Aliens muscling in but still to those of us who dont race every race it not particularly welcoming, and I was just running it as a bit of fun anyway.. Just a wry comment Wink

Lapping is going to be an issue I think. I will be on my best behaviour Grin

Weather is looking suspect.

Are you really taking the Marcos TT? Fair play if you are, it should be most fun if it rains. Grin

Given previous comments over the weeks...

I'm in a GT2 and will be taking the racing line from now on under all circumstances!
Beware of my early braking etc.
Will not be flashing anyone even the leaders (GT1 ) past.
Be patient and pass on the straights!

This should be fun! lol  Grin

oh well that wraps up my championship battle.  Retired on 2nd or 3rd lap.  :'(

First flying lap tried to avoid a rejoining GT1 car that was about to sideswipe me in the fast corner complex, made my own car unsettled and as i fought to control it, got a mighty thump up the jacksey by Legsy who had nowhere to go.
Then about a lap later with me and him at back of the grid, he got out of shape/ran wide on the exit of the downhill turn onto the back straight and as i tried to blast up the inside, the car again got wildly out of shape in the wet and harpooned into the armco. Smashed front lights and splitter off and suspension damage. Called into the pits, dropped 1-2 laps and car wouldnt restart  Angry Had to retire.

Drat.  Sad

Legzy for champion !  Grin

Wow, while it lasted that had to be the hardest test I've had in GTR2. In the dark in the rain Shocked In the end I just kinda gave up after a spin. Looked at motec display and when I glanced back it was too late, i was in a spin. Had no battles at all tonight was just about trying to stay on the track and in the end I lost Grin Well done to all you finishers Cool Cya soon.

LOL, that was a wierd race indeed.

Couldn't even qualify my GT1 Lister ahead of the GT2 pole (SbG). Started on intermediates and kept with the back of the GT1s. Was going ok, just wanted to keep out of trouble and in these conditions anything can happen. When the rain really started to fall I went in for soft wets (must have been one of the first to do so), topped up with fuel and went back out. Within a couple of laps I couldn't believe it I was catching 3rd and 2nd and then I was in the lead as Busi pitted too! I was so excited I shouted "I'm in the lead" to myself. ROFL.

Attempting to do 60 minutes on softs in the Lister with no tyre temperature was totally evil. I maintained the gap to Busi for a while, about 10 seconds, but then he really started to catch me. Once he caught me up he sat behind for a while and after making no mistakes before that I went wide and off onto the grass in the evil fast triple left hander (that you could barely see in the dark LOL). Ok, maybe he will pit again for fuel in the Lambo, but then I made the same mistake again losing more time at the same corner and allowing Jeff to get close. Finally when Jeff came up in 3rd I made my 3rd identical error at that horrible triple left hander (which I now hate intensly Grin) and let him through for 2nd. Then coasted home for 3rd.

Should be pretty pleased with 3rd considering I qualified behind a GT2, but somehow I feel I maybe could have won that. Who knows. Soft wets after 60 minutes were had and when Busi was catching me when I was leading I really backed off cause I wanted to make sure I had enough fuel after pitting so early. I didn't need to at all, so probably lost quite a bit of time there. If, buts and maybes...typical racing driver LOL.

Well done Busi, I would have preferred to have sat in your Lambo in those conditions, it's great in the wet indeed.

Man, after upgrading my machine it's now so enjoyable to drive in these conditions. 70 fps at night with torrential rain and maximum details, could have not believed it a year ago Grin

I qualified 3rd after discovering in the last 6-7 minutes that softs slicks were faster than intermediates lol

I saw the weather conditions at the start of the race and decided to go on inters because they wore pretty well in those damp conditions. When the rain started to fall heavily I saw most drivers struggling more than me, I assume they all started on slicks. Everybody into the pits, but I decided to stay out a little more and make sure that I was not gonna make a mistake by putting on soft wets. When I could not keep the car on track anymore even with inters, I finally pitted. Took on just 70 litres of fuel which I reckoned would take me to the end, and JUST did Grin and soft wets were nearly not worn after many laps so it looked good cause I had come out of the pits in 2nd just ahead of a Shark Lister but don't remember for sure if it was FreQ.

Anyway, decided to take it easy and let the speed come alone. Kept closing on Simon, decided not to risk any contact, so waited for him to make the smallest mistake. After 10 minutes he had been faultless so I decided to add some hard pressure, then it worked Tongue

Drove carefully - and keeping an eye on Jeff - to the chequered flag, happy with that win Cheesy

Grats ginsters and podiums Smiley

Wonder what happened to FreQ Huh
