Moderator's Report

SUMMARY
Another flag to flag victory for Tim Muttram. Tim held off a serious challenge from James Rye’s flying BRM. Phil Thornton secured the final podium place.

Server replay time: 0h31m43s

Lap 18 – Climbing Turn – James Rye

James gets airborne over the rise but he doesn’t feather the throttle as the rear end goes light. Consequently the engine over-revs and blows. James then brakes heavily and comes to a stop on the racing line. He then makes a shift-R before continuing.

In a situation like this James should have pulled off the racing line, and ideally onto the grass, before coming to a stop. Anybody following would have crested the blind rise and found a stationary car on the racing line.

Server replay time: 0h32m13s

Lap 18 – Pit Lane – James Rye

When making a stop and go the car must come to a complete stop.

No, don't worry, it wasn't.

Now I've had chance to reflect on it, perhaps I should have been a little more patient.  It's just frustrating when you see the small opportunity that may be there to get a place, drifting away.  They don't come very often for me lol.

I doubt I could have caught James anyway, he was going briliiantly for a first crack at clubmans.

Shame there weren't a few more competitors for this one. Not sure about the grip levels around Lime Rock because it felt like driving on ice. Just looked at the fastest laps and we were all quite close. Amazing pace from Tim, big congrats.

looking forward to the next races, have never raced at Jarama, but anticipate being able to compete well in the remaining races as they are tracks from the main game. Monza especially cause its easy to keep it on track there.

On a seperate note, my internet connection looks to be sorted now I'm not using wireless. Still had a few framerate issues but that seems to be the norm for me on VROC. Framerate is fine on IGOR Undecided When people were close to me I hope that I was not dissapearing every few secs and was appearing nice and solid?

Hi Ryeman,

VROC and Igor don't affect fps in any way. Are you using the same GPL player in both? I suspect there's a difference in your rasterizer and graphics option settings which is causing that anomaly.

When I was near you in Practice you were nice and stable James  angel
As lag free as it gets in GPL at any rate  thumbup1

VERY pleased to have managed to put another in the bag. Especially as I havn't raced here before and had 20 mins to learn the track prior to getting on VROC, followed by the first half of practice to hone my race setup. With 8 mins to go I decided it was as good as it was likely to get so drained the tank to about 5laps worth and went for a few hotlaps. Was a nice suprise to see how fast I managed to go!

My strategy was simply to launch hard, pressing on to build a cushion back while on Cold tyres. And then settle into a nice fast, safe groove so as to insure the minimum possible number of offs!  Grin
It all payed off as only Tim (Vosblod) managed more ontrack laps, and I steady pulled away from the rest of the field.
All in all a very good race for me - even if I did spin in the hairpin around the mid-point of the race  ninja

Congrats to all finishers, and bad luck to Kevin  Smiley

Sorry Tim, very ungracious of me.

Congratulations on an impressive win.
