Sorry to all effected by my 'lack of skills to pay the bills' tonight. Mainly TT, who I shunted into a wall
. I am glad that you kept going TT. I had given my self a drive through but, when I saw that you were still going, I waited for you during my pit stop.
I could not get passed TT once he was past me. I once again 'did a Hal' as Ruskus says, by accidentally hitting my engine button when trying to cycle through the XD screens.
TT went straight passed.
I do believe that I said 'GLA, mainly TT. He will need it.' or something like that at the start of the race. You needed luck all rite, luck that my stupidity would not take us both out.
I look a numpty now as TT was about as fast as me in his Marcos.
What, did you eat some sour mushrooms or some such?
Stop moaning, I clearly joined in the Marcos just for the fun of it.
This car gives me a thrill in driving as none else does. It truly ROARS!
I'm sure at least GT2 guys heard it behind before you could see it in your mirrors.
Besides, I should be apologizing to you for holding you so long - it was clearly unfair as you could go much faster on empty track. It was good that you had a scrap with Gazza, H@l. That way I could stay close and pass you when you "did a H@l".
Now, about Marcos:
It was the first time I drove it for such a long period. I must say I did some preparations, I think I made 100 laps before the race. My pb was in the mid 1:26 on an empty track, so not so slow. Err, race specs, so there must be some reserve still.
Tried off line race against AI and the laptimes fell down 1 sec immediately. This car really needs a whole track, so it's not suited for close racing - as H@l experienced.
Again, it's not your fault, H@l. By that time tyres were worn and I had to rely more and more on power-off/on to steer the beast - steering with the wheel didn't really work.
But when you floor it...
Nothing comes near.
This car being what it is, to fix it at least partially the brakes have to be made better. I had cooling opened to 5 at it still came to 600'C at hard braking which there is a lot of on this track. I had ballance to 63,5% front. Anything less and the rear snapped around when front brakes started to fade and rears gripped the discs properly. By the time I came to the next corner the brakes cooled down totaly and I had to brake sooner. So - brakes need to be fixed.
I'm not sure if the differential works as it should. It was evident from the beginning that the car is an understeary one, like C6R is. When I set power diff to 0 I could hardly go with full power through the Craner - the car wants to go straight. But with 0 power diff there's a violent spinning of an inner rear wheel out of the slow corners, like Melbourne hairpin - undrivable. Same with 5, 10, and 15 power diff. So I finaly setlled for 20 power diff and even with that I had to lift-off on top of Craner curves to make that left hander before the Old Hairpin.
Coast diff is another matter. Anything above 15 makes the car go straight. Really straight.
You can turn the wheel all the way, but the car goes straight.
If you set it to 0 you get turned around on braking and adding throttle enabled me to catch it in about 75% corners.
Driving skills aside, you need to grab that car by the scruff of it's neck and lead it like that all the time. And that's where the fun starts to fade a bit. Add H@l trying to pass and you get a situation where it's best to park it and grab a beer.
I finaly decided to take a 15 coast diff compromise.
Believe me, I tried a soft front and hard rear and rear ride hight so high the car was almost scraping the floor with the splitter. Low wing, too and all combinations. Nothing really works in fast corners. With the power down you mostly get a spin, even in 6th there's too much power. I had a power spin in the Starkey's.
Besides, if you get it to turn in fast corners, you get a spin under braking or on corner exit. Or through the chicane. I had to have almost full power while braking for the Esses chicane.
That, or it spit me out every time.
Still, if this could be fixed, I'd take it for the S10 GT1, it really feels like a racing car more than any other I tried.
Someone with more knowledge than me about the car setting and modding would have to dive into it, but I'm open to help with the testing.
Grats to GT2 Legends drivers - too bad MJ didn't come home on time to drive, but JPS has done the job admirably. Glad to have you in the team.
Grats to teams and individuals for their titles and thanks to the staff for superb organizing. I don't know any other League with such a high standards in driving and organizing. It's worthed to drive here even with MJ in the team.
TT

Was funny, I couldn't get out of sand - the engine was too strong. Wheels were spinning madly in 6th.
Ok, I did have front puncture, but even so. Surprisingly engine faded only 1% while its temp was up to 150'C.
