Is that just a Wigan thing or do they make it as far as Preston?

Wigan lasses ae always eager to oblige,  but sorry mate this is Fredericks country they dont frequent that far North and anyway it would be poaching on Glady's territory  Cool

just realised , due to RSC being down,  a lot of the newer members (so to speak  Roll Eyes) haven't yet witnessed the delights of Glady's very unusual attractions  Tongue

And before you ask , she gave up going for piano accordian lessons some time ago as it was starting to diminish her finer points .

Times in practice races were 1.14-17 the other night. My time was slower  Wink

Ah, no worries Tim.  Just a scary time!  Shocked

As for the race.....

I don’t remember it happening but I must have been to a hypnotist at some stage who programmed my brain to react to the word ‘race’.

For the first 5 laps my head no longer coordinates with my hands and feet, I immediately forget the braking and turn in points and generally drive like a buffoon!

Once I got going proper it was fun chasing Geoff for a number of laps but he sadly span in the last turn and I passed to try and chase down Al_H who went off up ahead somewhere so got and easy pass there too and ran on my own up until my screen froze, and I was joined in the chat room by Al_H who had the same pleasure.

As Geoff was saying in chat, I couldn’t seem to run the same pace as I had been doing in practice last night, car felt altogether different, but I had made no changes, so that’s all a bit weird. Probably that Hypnotist again!

Good fun though while it lasted.  Grats to all finishers.

Fun race. didn't expect to be that quick but after everything shook out I was in 4th and edging tenth by tenth up to the front three. I came across a McLaren on the run to the fiddly bit that must have had a problem as he slowed right infront of me and spat me onto the grass. Somehow, Evil ended up behind me and he homed in over a couple of laps then came down the inside into T1 like a cowboy with all guns blazing. He also had a couple of wheels on the grass so we had a bit of a bump. Next time he caught me I gave him the corner then found I could keep up with him but got two wheels on the grass in the fiddly bit braking zone and clunked something.

Didn't realise we could reset, but nevermind - I'd had my fun by then.

Got to admit that I forgot about this, was looking on the internet and found this page at about 9:15, so quickly joined but I was out of sorts.

Managed to do a lap where I kept it on the track, but I was a mile off the pace, in the race I was a danger so I parked it.

Some noobie mistakes from me in my first online race. First I managed to select neutral at the start - Tim (I think) did fantastically well not to crash straight into the back of me. Then at the first corner I was so busy watching a couple of people going off that I promptly joined them and spun across the grass too. After that I managed to settle down & was pleased to keep out of trouble & manage a few overtakes. Was concentrating hard as Geoff was bearing down on me in his evil-handling car but with 7 laps to go my screen froze out & that was that. Steve suffered a freeze-out at about the same time. Had set myself the target of getting to the end without taking anyone else out so was a bit gutted not to finish, but still enjoyed my first taste of racing.

Looking at the numbers that turned out for this event we are getting close to a viable grid for 69's. Granted there are some who are still getting to grips with these beasts but that was a good fun race.
Maybe a few more purely fun races for people to become comfortable with the grip etc and next season we could consider a 69 division.

We might also be able to get some crossover from GBGPL to swell the numbers?

I'm looking at running some fun races over the summer break - will put up a post when I come up with some dates...
