Too many races, not enough time to do proper setups IMHO. Races too short, mess up a qual lap might as well
park it.
Smacked into the back of what seemed a stationary Tony off the grid at the start of race 3
tried to avoid, but caught your rear left. Sorry.
Nice idea, but I would rather not do it again.

No worries mate, and these were not really "proper" races. It was really all about testing the cars.

Oh, and my apologies for the dodgy server management tonight. The new bloke was doing it and he's a t**y

I just want to thank everyone that turned up & took part tonight, in what was a far from normal race evening. With out running these tests, we can't add the cars to the proper season... So it was important & we managed to get through the night with no concerns arising. Happily.

Highlight for me tonight was a fantastic last race with Team Captain Tinman in the Corolla's. I didn't manage a qually lap in that one so was 2nd last on the grid. But made up some places & then 'went at it' with Tinman for seven solid laps to the end! Brilliant.

First time I've touched a driving sim since a rubbish GTR race last week and I've completely lost any motivation to drive.  Time to do something more enjoyable for a while.
You'll be missed Steve. But keep an eye on the schedule, hopefully a few races we come up with might take your fancy to get behind the wheel Smiley

:lol:LOL, were you creating setups during pracy & qually? That really can't have been easy! LOL lol
You'll be happy to hear, I can't imagine we'll be doing something like this again (four races on one night), we've just tried to cram as much as possible into a short space of time since taking over, to get the new season underway ASAP (next week being the final test race Cool).

Too much seriousness towards the racing here. Relax, this is supposed to be fun.

Having lost the connection to the server in the last two Thrusday races a was keen to take part in the Zolder test if only to convince myself I could managed more than 3 laps.   Delighted to report I had no problems from this point of view  thumbup2

As I had only downloaded the cars yesterday afto I decided to use the 'know' cars in the races.

Race 1 and 2:
Had a good race driving the Alfa in R1 and the Healey in R2 and enjoyed some could battles along the way.

Race 3:
I had really looked forward to this one as I love the BMW and actually had a setup for it.  The start was good and I managed to thread my way through the carnage early on.  As people repassed me I felt that they were a tad over aggressive and impatient as it was only lap 1.  Soon found myself at the back close enough to a couple of cars that would allow me to hang on to them.  As we approached the last right-hand turn I was suddenly knock off the track and my suspension wrecked - trouble was there was no one in my mirror.  Had no choice but to leave the race as the car was dead.  Luckily the replay had been saved so I was able to review what happened and it confirmed there was no one there - that is until I used the 'change driver' button when I could see my car but no other one except that at the top of the screen it showed 'Racepace'

I will down load the server replay later and see if 'racepace' is visible on that one.
Can I suggest that more patience is shown in the early laps please - As Murray W said "to finish first, first you have to finish"

All in all I had a great evenings racing so thanks to the guys who organised it and everyone who turn up - see you next time.  clap clap

I think any attempt at a race report is going to be nonsense, at this stage all I remember is there was a lot of sideways. And that is a good thing.

All in all a fantastic night's racing however, PR and Geoffers clearly the class of the field in whatever they turned their hands to - turns out Geoffers isn't just a mini specialist after all lol - great racing mate, I know I was dog slow and it must have been very frustrating sat behind me, but our comedy moment as I refused to be later on the brakes into that first chicane and promptly sailed across the gravel had me in stitches.

So many good tussles, PR, sorry bud, wouldn't be quite so rude in a league race but every man for himself last night LOL - too much Team Oldie action for my liking, great battle with Legz and that damn Lazlow was ruining my nice coast to the finish and making me sweat all the way to the line line in that last one!

All in all I'm a fan of every one of those mods, didn't try the Mini but the others were fantastic. Can't rate the Cuda enough, looks, sounds and feels incredible, the Fiat's a nice responsive drive no shortage of tail action and the Toyota's got to be on the grid purely for the fun factor, a one make round with those has to be done at some point chaps! I did say Monaco over TS but I'm thinking somewhere similar to Brno where you've got endless track to change lines, get the switchbacks etc.

Anyway thumbs up, knackering but great fun - top job Legz/ WT Wink

P.s - can only see one replay, am I missing something?

I agree Mr_oily.  Smiley  Or even at    A-1Ring - Albi 67 - Castle Comb(chicaned) - or one of those almost short
Australian tracks.  Grin

The event last night was superb (in a no stress perspective) and i believe it was a success.
It is always a nice idea to have a few short races, to accurate and test new car combos.
Well done to the organizers.  Wink

Geoffers was with an out of this world pace  alien
You are not only  a Mini expert, you are also an all British cars expert.  yes
Lots of fun first 2 races and 4th. Several nice duels with Geoffers, Mr_oily and for a couple of laps with
Legzy, Ade and Tinman. 3rd race was a bit lonely tho and i always get surprised with the front
tire wear on the CSL, just insane. Last 2 laps were hard to turn to the right.  Grin
The XD tool it's fantastic. That double right bend after the 1st corner and the double right
just after 2nd chicane got my left front tire in red.  Shocked

Even if i prefer P&G, i will not miss GTL races for nothing (well only if wife determinate that)  helpsmilie

Hmmmm....do we have to wait untill next Thursday for the next one?  whistling

A frustrating set of races for me, lots of spins & offs. I never found time for practice after a busy week and it showed  Sad

It was good to see the new cars working well Grin the Barracuda look & sound really cool! Must remember to try it sometime.

I am on my hols soon, so I won't be around for the first few races but will be back!!

A great evenings fun, thanks Legzy. Maybe we should try a few more multirace evenings whistling

The 1310 is great fun, brakes & turns like nothing else, although I fear it may be too fast for the other TC65 cars. Had a great 2 or 3 laps trying to find a way past PR's Merc & MrO's very sideways Falcon  Cheesy, but once ahead the Mini was far too quick for them. Nothing to do with the driver  Wink

The TVR was a real surprise, as I don't drive it very often & hadn't done any prerace testing in it. All credit to the Barracuda drivers though, I couldn't manage a lap in it without spinning off!

Fiat is a very nice drive, but I spun off a couple of times before having a good battle with Tinman's similar car. Then got on the power a tad too early at the final chicane & buried it into the tyre wall.

Final race I took the normal Mini against all the Corollas. In practice the Mini seemed quite a bit quicker than the Corollas so I decided to have some fun & eased off at the end of the first lap & let a few past. Had a great laugh hassling MrO for a few laps until a late braking duel at the first chicane saw us both in the gravel  laugh. By now PR was too far ahead to catch although I gave it a good go Smiley

Congrats to PR on 2 firsts & 2 seconds & MrO on several podiums.

Looking forward to the new season.

Cheers
Geoff
