You were the only one that was warping in front of me , Geoffers.  And indeed, once i saw your car for the half in my car.

OK thanks Sandor, must have been a problem with my connection then.

That was nothing short of amazing. Will be doing a full writeup later (usually just do them for Team Prodigy but I'll start posting them here too as they seem to be enjoyed.)

I had ONE LAP of practice. I haven't driven this circuit since the the Geoff Crammond days! Took the Alpine as I knew it well and like driving it and had a race long battle with Bill and Legzy.

Just fantastic guys. An honor to have such an incredibly tight race with you guys that was so clean. I think I tapped Bill a couple of times.

Just amazing. Best online race I've ever had I think.

Well that didn't last long, I was having all sorts of problems with cars warping all over the place. I don't know if I was invisible but a couple of times other cars just drove straight through me.
You were the only one that was warping in front of me , Geoffers.  And indeed, once i saw your car for the half in my car.
That didn't go too well. Downloaded a last-minute setup and went to the startingline but the gear-ratio was way too short  Angry
So when i passed finishline i was at topspeed already. Learned my lesson ......
Just quit cause I was so much slower than the rest and had no one to fight with.
Hopefully the race was better for the rest.
Shame you quit! Was also badly outpaced as a result of lack of talent  Wink
Was driving the 275 but found out that it could only hold 80 liters/16 laps (sorry for the metrics).
Had to pit twice to fill her up ... well at least it was good exercise..

ps. had the same Geoffers. Your Mini was all over the place.

Had a great fight with you too Alex for a while there. Great stuff!

Oh yes, and someone might want to check Legzy's car. I think there was something wrong with it. It seemed to get a lot wider in the final lap Grin

Geoffer's latency was nuts! I just let him through when I saw him warping all over the place with latency over 700!

A great race. Too bad I had to pit twice to be sure of the fuel, changed my tyres at the second stop too which was a mistake, Madd went past and too the win! Grats Madd! A second place ain´t so bad either. And I take my hat off to all who rode something else then Elan, because I would have had no chance with some other car, tested them but they all were impossible to drive for me.

One Alfred Hitchcock moment was at lap 39, when our dog came and walked under my desk, she took a stand right on my pedal set, so there were two legs and one dog under my table. Luckily it walked away because I tried to ignore it for obvious reasons  Grin

Very nice, clean race from all of us there! Thanks!

Steve, well done! And oily, too bad you went wide, you would have been at the top in the results without that incident.

Too many cars to choose from for me to be able to test them all, decided on Daytona as it was fairly friendly
was a nightmare after 10 laps, lost count of times I fell off changing down, forgot to put fuel in at pits
ran out trying to get round, game over.

Replay and results now up

And really nice to see such a good mix of cars on the grid tonight. But alas we have to lose one for the next two GTC-65 Enduro's. Quite close but inevitably it's bye bye to the Lotus Elan

Well I wanted to add screenshots, but with preparing to move house in two weeks (meaning I miss the race after next) I don't have time, so here we go.

http://simracing.blog.com/2009/06/26/july-25th-2009-srou-estoril-endurance/

If nothing else, I hope Legzy, Bill and Alex read it, if only for the final part:)

@ Geoffers: Your car was badly warping Geoff, sorry your connection issues.
@ Steve : Your chronicle is very well written, it was a pleasure to read.

Now then...(as Peter Sellers usually began to speak as Inspector Clouseau)  laugh
Qualified 6th and was happy with that. E-Type was perfect cornering but lack of top speed
and power exiting corners. Start was good despite of losing one place, kept the front drivers
in sight and soon got my place back. When pit stops began, I realise that I could had a chance
to achieve a podium place. Why? Because at lap 10, my fuel gauge was right in the middle.
So, I drove untill lap 20 trying to short shifting when ever I could and doing last 4 corners
in 3rd gear. It worked perfectly, stopped for my pit stop at lap 21 with fuel for less than one lap.
By then I was in 2nd place. Changed all four tires because my rear left was badly wear and last
5 laps I was doing "parabolica" with extra care due to a rear drift and sliding.
Exit pits at 5th or 6th - can't remember - however a few cars in front should stop one more time.
I kept exactly the same care pace for last 10 laps and managed to finish in 3rd and again with fuel
for less than one lap.

All the hats in the world off, for the fantastic idea of fuel consumation that allow us to chose
a wider variety of cars depending of what we want and our strategy (more real feel for us).  I Am Not Worthy
And for the, car most selected don't allowed for a next race rule.  I Am Not Worthy

I have to thank also all drivers for the clean driving. Thumbs up for the variety of the grid aswell.

Congrats for your win Madd and for your 2nd place Dyno. Great pace both!   thumbup2

Cheers

Sorry about my connection problems guys, I hope I didn't cause too many problems. In hindsight I probably should have quit when I realised things weren't right. I'll know in future.

PS: I noticed that I am credited with the TC65 race lap record, but Bill did a faster race lap than me.

Nice report Spadowski  thumbup1

Taking the F250 was a last minute idea. I Had a quick blast in it off-line before joining server & found is quick & quite straightforward. Joined the server & suddenly I was 2.5 seconds per lap slower & tyre wear was all over the place  Roll Eyes

Jumped in the Alpine at the end of Practice as I was getting nowhere. The Alpine had been my safe bet, but was just too different to get used too & I left qually to go back the to the F250  no Six minutes of qually left, set a decent time actually & qualified a decent 14th.

Got myself up to 10th by turn three/four & happy that with some defencive driving & no errors I'd be alright holding people behind with the straight line power of my Fezza. Well, I couldn't keep it on the track but ended up having the same battle just further down the field. Had loads of fun with Spadowski / Bill & Tony too. Great fun guys!

Good mixed field BTW  Cool

See you at 'Mosport 1977' on Tuesday  Grin
