Both drivers believe that they were to blame for the collision. No further action seems warranted.

The other thing is you're killing two birds that way and eliminating the possibility of a clean install having some affect too Smiley

No pressure Wink

I've never installed the anti-deco patch Mark, just added that text file, entered the IP in game and connected fine.

C: drive haven't anything working (anti-virus, anti-spyware, router, updates, etc....for 3 years)
I wonder if I can install a fresh one at D: drive along with the actual installation but instead of be on D:GTL,
install it at D:\Programs\GTL

I used the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt and added the IP address as instructed. I have to add the IP every time I connect
but it remembers what you added last time. Also the "password" is not the one you normally use for online
it's any word you want.

Just a thought PR, but can you ping the two IPs?

Open a DOS box and "ping 85.214.139.23"  and then "ping 81.19.209.165"

If you can see both, then it is a mystery why you can't connect
I thought maybe it was a DNS issue, but everything is IP so there is nothing to resolve.

Oh, and my install is C:\games\GTL, which is where I put the LOCAL_LOBBY_IP.txt
and I have never used the antideco thing .

The box said "Windows 2000 server or better" So I installed Solaris

If I go with my normal username and password it will quickly change screens to the server list screen and sit at 'searching..' for a few mins then go no games found.

If i use a different password it sits on that screen where you put you login details in and then comes up with message saying unable to find server.

That was with a skeleton install without any UKGTL stuff.

Did you try a different user name (i.e. Spanner1)
Does that do the same or different?

Click "start", click "run", type "CMD" & enter. It will bring up a black box. Then type "ping 85.214.139.23" & enter.
It will either give you four replies, four timeouts or tell you it can't.

Personally I still think it worth testing a "C:\GTL" install. All you'd need to do it sort the router out (check you can see the Internet to confirm it's working), install the game & the text file, then see if it works.
If you need to use that, then you can anti-virus it later. This is purely to test an unmodified PC/install.

I think the "password" is not really used, it just needs something to be entered.

One point - With the LOCAL_LOBBY file in your GTL dir (wherever that is)
When you select network in the initial screen, don't select internet, select "Local or Direct IP"
and put in 81.19.209.165
If the game is in Race session, and wont let you in then you need to drop out, and reconnect with the 81.19.209.165
each time, until you get in. I was trying to join last night and had to wait some time between races
to be able to connect, and, unless I dropped out, and reconnected it said "no games found"
Phil joined from Germany, so it's not a "UK only" issue. IMHO it doesn't matter whether your install directory
is G:\obscure_directory_name\GTL but if you can't make it work, try anything  Smiley

Actually I don't really understand why the LOCAL_LOBBY file is needed, if our server is running dedicated
and there are no firewall issues, I would expect the Local or Direct IP method to connect anyway.
Umm I feel a test coming on...

Yeah, I think it uses you driver profile, but worth trying a different "lobby name" along with the new password.

As another idea for PR to try 1st as it's quick. Try creating a new Driver in GTL "PRTest" for example. Don't worry about getting all the controls mapped correctly to start, just create it & then choose that profile. Then try to get online. If it works you can go back & profile the new one correctly.
I had to do that ages back when something went wrong with my proper drivers profile.

OK, as I thought, the LOBBY is not required, I guess if you want to chat to your club members between races
it would be useful, but is not needed (and actually adds an uneccesary step) to connect to our server.

I have a 2nd PC with GTL installed, that I use only for replays. It has no art deco patch, or LOBBY file
it is a standard install (C:\games\GTL ) with only SROU addons.

I started GTL as normal. I selected "Multiplayer" I selected "LAN or DIrect IP" I entered  81.19.209.165
it asked for a username I entered "fred" it asked for a password, I entered "fred" it then went searching for games
and came up with our server, I selected the server in the list (of one) and gave it our normal practice password
and I was in the game.

Umm I just tried again, and it  works fine, except I am at the Nord, as I have not installed Zeltweg on this system
