All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:15 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:15 (25 mins)
Race: 20:40 (8 laps = ~70mins)

Track: Nordschleife 2006 (Tourst circuit) download here
Cars allowed: Any GTC-76 plus GT40 plus Mclaren M1A (Available here) plus Fiat Abarth 131 GT (Available here) excluding the Pantera and the Porsche 906

The most popular car choice from this event will be excluded from Round 7

Time of Day Setting: 18:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: 2x

Pit Stops: You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel or change your tyres. You cannot take your mandatory stop at the end of the first lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Server: UKGTL Enduro
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Would like to request that this race is run in daylight conditions, please. This track is difficult enough without the darkness. Any other views?

Have you tried it at 18:00 Tom?
Tony & myself have both looked at it (all the way through to 19:10 race end) & both agreed it was good.
Willing to listen to people's opinions/concerns over this though. Smiley

Yep, tried it. Looks quite atmospheric in the dusk but I had terrible problems spotting my appropriate braking points. May just be my old eyes!!.
However, if you try a race against the AI you will find that the track is very narrow - trying to overtake in the dark is a nightmare.
If everyone else is in favour then so be it, but I can see a fair amount of carnage.

Surely there's a setting on the monitor to turn off the 'clever' power saving mode?

Have you guys tested it yet? No sign of night time & you can get away without your headlights (kind of Wink)

Like the atmospheric bit especially in the haunted German Walds but if it's too much of an issue I'll go with the flow..

Just back from holiday and already a dilemma...........(through gritted teeth)..............I have to agree with my brother Tinman.

Have tried all morning and I'm sick of coming off. For all us non aliens the biggest prob is smashing into the armco and losing the headlights.

Set the time to midday and did my first clean lap.

I have to say that while I love the track I've never been in a good race here. Its mostly been processional after the first few corners and the only excitement is being overtaken by the faster guys recovering from spins. And getting out of the way is a problem here as its narrow and while all you faster guys have the patience of saints (grin) I can't see many making it to the flag

Still if you want to keep the start time I'm OK with that.

But if it all goes awry expect a bucketload of "I told you so" and some custard pies.

Just a quick tip in case some of you weren't aware:

If you take the left hand gate as you leave the carpark, the lap timer will start as you cross over the start/finish line. Saves having to do an outlap Wink

Love the time setting for this; great sense of immersion with the house lights off, but a shame if it means that others will have difficulties.

Cheers, that's good information to have.

Thanks 57. As I'm going to be doing a bit of running today I reckon that tip will save me a good 90mins.

Dont let on to Mrs Oilseal or she'll have me hoovering the stairs and doing lunch.

Yes I know I'm a wimp but I'm not as mentally strong as Tinman  LOL

Hi 57 your tip doesn't work for me or Tinman.

Funny that wonder why.
