OK Oilseal, I just tried it again and it appears that you first have to complete one outlap per session for this to work. This is how it works:

Drive through left gate and complete an outlap through to start/finish line.

You can now continue on your first timed lap or return to garage.

When you leave for your next run, drive through left gate and when you pass through the start/finish line the onboard clock begins and your time will be registered.

This should then work for all subsequent laps/returns to garage, saving you an untimed outlap every time you return to the garage.

I only discovered this after a few laps and assumed it would work from the very first lap. Hope it works ok for you now.

Edit: After further experiments and research, this appears to be a little hit/miss to say the least. It does work sometimes but not always in the same way. Sometimes it works when driving through the right hand gate, sometimes the left, sometimes not at all. I'll let you know if I manage to figure it out. Huh

No worries Dyno , Ive ironed out some of the oversteer on turn in but try not to flick the car about as it hates sudden weight transfer... hope it helps. Wink

Im gonna do some practice tommorow morning if anyone fancies a blast probably about 10am.

Done 7.55.7 with the Escort but with a few small errors so could be quicker.  Set up is uploaded.

Made a brave attempt at getting round in my favoured M1A last night, with my usual rock hard front and
softest possible rear I could handle the corners if carefull, but so much as brush a kerb and it spins
tried a more balanced setup, and it can gently touch kerbs but is like trying to fly an EFA with the
computers turned off. Maybe try something more "forgiving"  Undecided

The box said "Windows 2000 server or better" So I installed Solaris

The view from the back of the grid:

I've run about 30 laps here in the last couple of weeks and know the track really well from previous outings. My best time is 8:38 with race fuel in the RSR and that felt like a fairground ride to me.

Where's the shortcut Dan Grin Grin Grin

Thanks Dan, hope I have time to test the setups and tips soon.  I will keep in mind that you did 7:55 with the Escort, that is a good landmark time for me. Now let´s see how far I´m compared to that time.... Tongue

Headlamps? umm I guess  Wink I can't remember finishin a night race with all me lamps intact, in fact I got
flamed (indirectly) at the last one for driving round without them so I would not get "dependent"  Roll Eyes

Am I the only one who gets blinded by the setting sun during the run? The sun shines straight through every scenery there is, hills, forests, etc. There is one spot at least where I get totally blinded and can´t see the track at all. If this is the case, there is no point in racing this race at all.

Just tested it some more, and at 17:00 the lighting is just about the same but the scenery doesn´t let the sun shine through and it seems to be working as it should.
