A quick reminder of what our rules say on "Use of Track Surface":- Under normal circumstances the simulation's internal cut detection will be relied upon to police the cutting of chicanes and other corners.
Drivers are strongly discouraged from the deliberate placing of one or more wheels on areas of grass, gravel and sand. Clear and deliberate cutting which evades detection by the simulation may still result in a penalty. - A driver who gains an advantage through a cut must yield the advantage back to any affected car(s).
An advantage may include taking a place directly, setting up a pass, or avoiding losing a place. - Persistent or deliberate 'railriding' is strictly forbidden.
- These rules apply in all sessions, including qualifying, even when not on a flying lap.
No mention of kerbs. I'm probably being a bit ignorant here, but what is 'railriding'? Sorry to be a bit of a pest Legzy, but sticking entirely to the tarmac makes quite a difference to your laptime, as opposed to putting a couple wheels over the kerbs. I'm quite happy with whatever is decided, I just wanted to know what would be acceptable & what would not.

Railriding refers to deliberately running your car around the outside of a bend up against the armco and riding the the armco (or wall) around the corner. Gran Turismo is famous for it, whereas I suppose the risk of incurring damage makes it less of a problem in GTL and the like.
As far as kerbs are concerned, I've always followed the rule of 2 wheels being within the racing area at all times. I suppose you could split hairs and question whether those 2 wheels must be fully or partially within that area, so perhaps this could do with clarification.

it is perfectly normal to take a chicane with half of the car over the kerbs. Really? OK, brilliant, I just knocked 2 seconds off my PB.

I've found the apex concrete most accommodating on most turns, where it is especially wide, but I have also received some cut warnings. You get to learn what you can get away with. But it will be a shame if this needs policing after the event. I would hope that we are all able to drive to the usual high standards eh chaps?

Did you ever seen a real race car? Oh many times Paulo, did I ever see a race car. Oulton Park used to be at the bottom of my garden.

I just ment that it's usual in any race, the driver cut or at least put half of the car over the kerbs. I must add that if the game has a cutting track warning, it exists for the exagerating cuts, as for the other cuts, imagine an Admin see 20 drivers during 40 laps at each corner and chicane to detect any exagerated cut. The game do it for you. Once again, I respect the SROUK rules and even if I don't agree with everything I do respect and always try do perform them.

These are the Green Patches between the kerbs and the grass? Surely this is why they are there - to use? Latest version of some tracks have big wide (a couple of car widths) and all the GP drivers use them regularly without penalty. Bill

Latest version of some tracks have big wide (a couple of car widths) and all the GP drivers use them regularly without penalty. IIRC, At the last F1 race here, the drivers were warned prior to the race, on their use of "the green bits" & to expect a drive through on the 3rd occaision. In the GTR2 version of this track used here, the cut detection has been made much more severe, to the point that kerbs are still fine, but you get a cut track warning for touching "the green bits". While that's maybe too far ( ), at least everyone's car is capable of driving the same lines (not just one car). Personally, I have no problem with seeing someone with one set of wheels riding the kerb, even coming up a little onto "the green bits". But when the 3rd & 4th wheels are heading towards the kerb too... it's time to look at your lines. Just my opinion obviously & I do share Tony's opinion, that it shouldn't be a problem with our usual high standards p.s. Down to 2:05's now

Thanks for posting those amazing youtube clips Paulo Listening to those cars has inspired me to seek out some replacement audio files for the GTL cars. I'd previously sorted out the RSR with excellent results, so when I found this for the CSL I thought I'd also give it a try..... http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=14705Gotta say, what a difference You'll need to follow the instructions carefully, particularly the part about placing the audio file into each car that you want to experience these sounds (I changed them all). The Capri sounds (which you'll also need to download and install in order to enhance the experience) are also fantastic. The read me notes are nice and easy to follow. I had no problems with them, but obviously usual precautions apply and make your backups if at all unsure. Have fun

Race length changed to 38 laps so that it is closer to 80mins.
Remember to recalculate your fuel.
