Alex should have made allowance for Spanners line at the chicane apex and braked accordingly.
Alex did wait for Spanner to re-pass him after the incident and Spanner has stated that he wants no penalty imposed hence

A very short race for me, I managed to miss the start, I was just trying to work out if I could get away with one pit stop (answer no!), realised I only had seconds to spare and stupidly pressed the wrong key which sent me to the desktop. By the time I switched back it was too late....  Angry

Hope you had a good race!

Sorry Lazlow, bit of brain fade on my part there. My intention was to flash after I got round the bend, to warn you I was pitting. For some unknown reason I flashed before I even got to the bend, thereby misleading you into thinking I wanted you to overtake. Apologies again.

No worries Phil....I was to blame as well, just missed my braking point and couldn't get the Beamer to slow done Embarrassed Just one of those moments I think.

That was a true endurance race!
Start went so-so but managed to tap Spanner's BMW causing him to spin.. very ungentlemen-like so I will make a report tomorrow.  Sad
Had some good fighting with Legzy, Phil and others until I lost it at the Parabolica... big time.
This broke my suspension and normally I can drive around it (used to lousy setups) but this time it caused me to spin under heavy braking.
After two spins decided to change the suspension.
So after a tea break I chased the rest of the field  Undecided

Congrats to PR for his splendid drive and gutted to hear of my teammates' problems.

Now off westwards to the Mediterranean!

My first endurance race, which turned out to be a real education.  The race for me went well untill about lap 14 when my times dropped quite dramatically - guessed it was tyres and elected to pit.  This is when my troubles started as first I forgot to turn on the pit limiter and immediatly picked up a 'stop n go'.  The red mist seemed to descend then and I totally lost my rythem and started going off the track quite regularly forcing me to pit three or four more times for repairs.  In the end I finished as the last car still running in 11th place.  Despite all my self induced problems I enjoyed the experience and hope to be at the next one.

Congratulations to the podium and thanks to everyone who made it to the grid.

Would appreciate it if Dynosaur and/or Phil Gilliland would post their 911 setups in the SROU online file as I believe I had my gears set wrong - all the other 911's seemed quite a bit quicker than me.

Grats to podium! PR was just unbelievable, how is that possible? You had a rocket in your car?

Anyway, Laurie you are the man, I respect the way you drove your race, I mean not quitting despite all the problems you had. I saw you pitting quite a few times, but still going on.
I can upload my 911 setup, it is just one I found in a hurry, had to pick a setup that suited my driving style at least a little. I´ll let you know when I have uploaded it, Laurie!

My race was just as I expected, didn´t have the needed pace in practise, qual and naturally I lacked pace in the race too. Was there only to grab some possible points for the team, so didn´t expect much. Grats to PR, oily, and API once again for a great race, and everyone else for being there!

Congratulations for your championship driver's win Lazlow.  clap

This time, I had to soft a bit the suspension due to the 2x tire wear.
It was one of those nights that everything went well from the start - pit stops - finish.

When I realised that Mr_oily was in second, it was a relief and I could carry on, with a pace
not in the limits but fast just enough to increase the gap, as I didn't know how the CSL
would wear the tyres and how i could handle it...

Big thanks to all backmarkers, you were fantastic.  yes
Hats off to Laurie for despite of all going to the pits, kept the spirit of racing and stayed
untill the finish.  I Am Not Worthy

Congrats to Mr_oily and API's podium and to all finishers.
Endurance races are just superb, love them. The 2x fuel consumption and tire wear were great.

Teams championship will be decided at Le Mans and it will be perfect for the very last race!

Cheers

Can't seem to find that folder Laurie, but if you go to the Monza folder you will find "911 - Phil Gill" in there.

When I realised that Mr_oily was in second, it was a relief and I could carry on, with a pace not in the limits
Yeah, when I know Oily is behind me... I know I can slow down without worrying too Grin

Swapped cars from McLaren to Escort to 911 (as none of them felt right) & with two mins of qually left, I swapped back to the McLaren again Roll Eyes
So started from the back row, 21st instead of the 10th spot I'd earned in the 911. The count down started, 3..... 2..... 1.... & the lights went green & I paused before I gently massaged the accelerator so as not to light up my rears... "Tony is going to move in a minute", "Come on Tony move", "Please move Tony", "MOVE TONY MOVE!!!", bump & then Tony moved laugh laugh laugh

Being my first ever race in the McLaren, I was impressed at just how easy it was to use its power to get myself up to 12th spot by the end of the 2nd lap. Unfortunately I assumed I would be the slowest car going through a chicane in the M1a, but I was wrong & as I gently tapped the rear end of Phil's Porka, its rear engine helped spin him round unfortunately & we both lost a couple of places while I waited (sorry Phil).

Still, I made the places back up straight away & was up to 10th & 9th spot was in sight, as I thought to myself, 'this McLaren is easier then I thought'.... just before my rather excessive rear tyre wear took me for my first spin Roll Eyes then another then another then another & I had to do my 1st pit stop for rear tyres after lap 10 (they were up to about 24 wear by then) Embarrassed

Had a good rest of the race, though I don't really remember any particular events as I was concentrating so hard on trying to keep on top of my tyre wear issues.

One moment that did confuse me, was when my 163mph McLaren (almost at top speed) on the home straight was zoomed past by PR's 146mph BMW Huh

Well done to PR, you've once again demonstrated your unstoppable ability in that BMW I Am Not Worthy while between you & Oily, you managed to re-open the Team Championship once more also.

Congrats to Lazlow on sealing his first SROUK championship win & good luck for Sunday in trying to seal your 2nd with GTR2 thumbup1

Put a fair bit of pracci in for this and paid off in a P8 quali which I was pleased with.

Had a decent start and a good first stint except for losing a couple of places at that first chicane where I did a Damon (made a change from the Kimi or the Mika which usually befell me in pracci). Had a nice little battle with dyno who I eventually caught and made a place back into Lezmo 1 when he ran wide, then it all went a bit wrong. Spun it entering the pitlane, forgot to put fuel in and then received a stop/go when I forgot to hit the limiter as I repitted.  Hit with a wet fish Hit with a wet fish Hit with a wet fish That's gotta be worth some kind of prize Roll Eyes

Was glad to get home in 13th after that with the CSL engine health less than 50% and front tyres way past their best.

Grats to Paulo for the win and Lazlow for the champ. Also well done to all those who finished.

For some reason it's put me in 11th when I actually finished 9th.  Huh
I know I got DQed after the race when the car flipped over the railings and fell through the track, I was trying to avoid the stationary cars on the straight and failed. Undecided
