Alex should have made allowance for Spanners line at the chicane apex and braked accordingly.
Alex did wait for Spanner to re-pass him after the incident and Spanner has stated that he wants no penalty imposed hence

In case you have been hiding under a rock, there are GTL lobby problems. But.... all is not lost!

This is what I did to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

With that fix, there is no need to touch your host file (unless you've already changed it, then you would need to remove the GTL changes you did). If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:15 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:15 (15 mins)
Race: 20:30 (38 laps = ~80mins)

Track: Monza
Cars allowed: Any GTC-76 plus GT40 plus Mclaren M1A (Available here) plus Fiat Abarth 131 GT (Available here) excluding the Pantera, Porsche 906 and the Capri

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: 2x
Fuel consumption: 2x

Pit Stops: You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel or change your tyres. You cannot take your mandatory stop at the end of the first lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Server: UKGTL Enduro
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Not as much as me, I'm only doing 2:10 qualifying and 2:12s in race trim with CSL and 2:15's in qualifying in the 914/6.  Trouble with the CSL is slowing it down particularly for T1 I either overshoot or spin on turn in.  (Sounds beautiful though, I'm torn between my heart and my head bearing in mind it's an enduro.)

Good luck its a blast Cool Your car or someone elses? Only tip is to give'em lots of room when they come past and indicate. I did spend most of my time looking in the mirrors as they will catch you at a vast rate.

yes Keep to the right  Cheesy

and watch out for the Adenauer section. It's a chicane right after a fast uphill section where the sun shines right into your eyes.

Actually quite enjoyed returning to this track old, as it's been long enough since my last visit.

Had a blast in the 911, GT40 & the BMW so far & my quickest laptime was a 2:06 (the slowest 2:09). The 2x fuel & tyre wear are definitely going to influence my decision Undecided

On a side note, I was very concerned when I drove the BMW as it seems it can just drive over kerbs (no tyres still on the black stuff) like they don't exist. This gives the car potential to exploit massively illegal lines, especially through the chicanes. So after Thursday's race, I will be monitoring peoples lines at certain key points on the track & logging incidents if required. Luckily we're all gentlemen here, so I'm sure none will be required Smiley.

So what is considered an acceptable amount of kerb & what is not? All 3 chicanes are quite 'cutable', as is Lesmo 2.

Should we have at least 2 wheels on the black stuff at all times?

Should we have at least 2 wheels on the black stuff at all times?

A quick reminder of what our rules say on "Use of Track Surface":
  • Under normal circumstances the simulation's internal cut detection will be relied upon to police the cutting of chicanes and other corners.
Drivers are strongly discouraged from the deliberate placing of one or more wheels on areas of grass, gravel and sand.
Clear and deliberate cutting which evades detection by the simulation may still result in a penalty.
  • A driver who gains an advantage through a cut must yield the advantage back to any affected car(s).
An advantage may include taking a place directly, setting up a pass, or avoiding losing a place.
  • Persistent or deliberate 'railriding' is strictly forbidden.
  • These rules apply in all sessions, including qualifying, even when not on a flying lap.
