Lazlow is in the lead and is lapping drivers. As he approaches Matt_Rowe he is expecting to be given the opportunity for a clean pass. However Matt is also being followed by API in a identical blue car. As Matt doesn't give way to Lazlow for some time Lazlow resorts to flashing his headlights, several times to alert Matt. Matt fails to respond to this. A bit later Lazlow can pass as Matt spins off course.
Although Matt never actually obstructed Lazlow or held him up, he should off realised perhaps that the flashing of headlamps probably meant something.

I thought this was destined to be a boring race with a pretty uninspiring track, but if tonight's session is anything to go by it'll be heaps of fun. Smiley

Hahaha yes was some good stuff going on, the odd suspect move from an Oldie but that's to be expected.

Think this track actually lends itself really well to overtaking so I'm really looking forward to tonight - hoping it doesn't end up lonely for one reason or another!

Normally I would also join in the back but i'm afraid I have to skip this one due to some other appointments. Undecided

I hope you all have fun tonight

I wasn't feeling to confident of doing well in the race after seeing the times in Practice...I was about 1.5secs off the pace...decided to take a notch off the front anti-roll bar in Quali and managed to put the car 2nd on the grid.

First half of the race I had an angry Minton on my tail...pushing me all the way...so much so that we were setting fastest lap, after fastest lap Cool
After an epic drag race down the back straight, Dan managed to squeeze his Corolla down the inside...but just locked up his brakes going into the corner, and I cut back underneath him to hold onto the lead.  After that I managed to pull away slowing leaving just the pit stop to contend with....which luckily went OK.

Great driving tonight...as always!!

Catch You Later

Qual'd 6th with a pb and brimmed the Alfa for a quick splash/dash at the end.

Had a great start but had to get out of the throttle on the first straight after an incident in front of me and lost a couple of places. Had some nice racing with Paulo, Matt and Mr. Oily until I spun it having a look at a cut back on Matt Roll Eyes

From then all was ok until my pitstop, which I was dreading. Came in nice and steady but had to go back and fore and back and......just couldn't get the board to appear. Finally managed to get a few litres in, but by then I'd lost almost 2 mins and was back in 12th. Sad

Still, good fun tonight and congrats to the pody and finishers.

Thoroughly enjoyed that one - slightly hairy opening lap but it certainly spiced things up!

Apologies to Geoffers, didn't mean to run out quite so much on the exit of T1, gonna blame cold tyres and no brain but to be fair I think it was probably quits after the return punt Smiley. Spun at T2, nearly caused a team disaster, first causing Dyno to take avoiding action while I was sideways in the middle of the road (sorry mate!) and then as I tried to give him room, nearly took out Tibs going at Mach 1 hehehe.

Anyway I wouldn't have changed a thing (aside from putting Dyno on the grass!), after that I was absolutely determined to go on a charge and ended up having some really cracking dices throughout the field - glad I took Tina as I'm not sure it would have worked out so well in the Corolla from back there - although she lost out a little on the straights to the Alfas, she actually seems to get better as the tyres wear in...albeit just letting you know she might bite if you get a little too rough Smiley

Thanks to PR for being an absolute gent, didn't want to compromise your race mate but appreciated the gesture! Hats off to Geoffers for keeping the pressure on constantly - what happened when I went past on the exit of T2 dude? Just seemed to slow and pull to the left?

Pit stop was a freakin nightmare - I have to press space on my keyboard to wake it up and I clipped "v" which changes the view. Came in to the pit box looking from outside the car and then struggled to get the view back to cockpit until actually out on track - lost a chunk of time while Jim did a flyer and saw the gap to 1st double from 10 to 20 seconds.

Great stuff though, grats Jim, another storming drive and my other hat off to Dan for giving the Toyota a run out.

Decent race for the 1st half anyway. Think that the second half was not as good because the smaller field was so spread out Undecided

Couple of decent scraps trying to fend off a coupe of drivers for a couple of laps here & there, having made a good start before drifting back down the order some.

Well done to Lazlow on another Team Oldie win Wink
But a special well done to Minton & Ade, both normally front runners who selected 'less competitive' cars, well done guys euro. Well done to the other non-tina/alfa drivers too!

Looks like we've got two trips across the Atlantic next week, might need to book a hotel  Wink

Very enjoyable race indeed.
A few good and fair fights with Matt, Goldtop and Dan.  Great stuff guys, thank you. Wink
6 laps to the end I was behind Geoffers 12 seconds, shorted the gap for 6 seconds in two laps
and really hope by then, a supposed podium finish. But I recon Geoff was controling the race.
Starting at 8th and after so much fun, I'm happy with the final 4th place.  Smiley
Thank you to Dyno and Spanner for being such a gentlemen and well done to mr_oily for the impressive Cortina pace.

Congrats to podium and to all finishers.

Cheers.

Enjoyed this one mostly. with more practice I would have set the brake bias forward further
(or maybe remember what keys do it...) Had a good start, avoided most of the tangles
and was in 4th with a 7th place pace, inevitably people caught and passed. managed
to worry PR for a few laps until he pulled away  Smiley
Was trying to flash thanks to a lapped car into the last turn only to hit the pit speed button
and someone (Dyno? Spanner?) had an easy pass.
went into the pits to find a green alfa in MY pitbox!"! went round again having wasted some
time, and decided to only replace fronts, sortof worked, but the rears kept locking under
braking, and I spun a couple of times and people nipped through. Got in Lazlow's way once
really sorry about that, I had two red and blue Alfas behind, pit board said next car back
was 2 secs and I was getting no blue light, ended up letting both cars through.
Had a great tussle with API at the end, he fell off, I passed, I fell off he passed
excellent stuff!
