Sorry you couldn't make it Legz - was so focussed in qually it wasn't until lap 2 that I realised we were a little light on mobile chicanes Oldies.  Thought it probably wasn't a great time to start discussing with Jim on TS however! Incidentally, aside from the customary "noooooooooooooooo!" from our man Spanner, I've never known TS so quiet! Now we're at the business end of the championship it's maximum concentration all round clearly!

As for the race, well the green armada led by a suddenly very fast Portugese bloke came through for me big time here so cheers guys! They kept Jim occupied while I tried to get my head down and stick in some quick ones in the early stages.

The rest of my race was basically about trying to peg said Oldie at a comfortable gap which proved pretty tricky. He was basically on elastic throughout, there was always the pressure there and at one point I noticed my eyeballs were drying out as I gazed at the split time and not the road lol. Still, the Porsche felt pretty good and I knew it was mine to throw away. Given the memories of Cadwell, I couldn't relax properly until taking the flag but luckily it all went without a hitch and we managed to rack up some more drivers and team points as we head into the Monaco lottery  Grin.

What a fantastic track - again hat off to organising ones, a great combination!

P.s - Sorry again Alex, appreciate the gesture - obviously didn't mean to give you that love tap in return for you kindly moving out of the way!

Love the track, hate the car.  Grin
I believe it will not be a good mariage for me.  laugh

However, I managed to following him closely, until, on the S/F straight Bill gave us the left side
when we were lapping him, but when we were braking for the first corner, I checked the mirror
and saw Bill approaching fast on us. I realise that he couldn't brake in time, so I stayed on the left side,
Bill missed Simon's rear end, and my front end. I really predicted that moment.  Cool
No arm to any of us, however I lost a few tenths for Simon and from then, trying to short the gap,
I did a minor mistakes that had put the gap between us on 4 seconds.
Last 3 laps I was shortening the gap, but I recon Simon was just controling the pace.
Great driving Simon, I had lots of fun.  Smiley

Congratulations Mr_oily, superb driving.
Congrats to podium finishers also.

Cheers

Sorry PR, I was keeping out of your way but conscious that Geoffers was slowly reeling me in, so I was trying to avoid losing too much time.  I didn't think I'd out braked my self - which I did in the event - I was just going to pull back on line to brake when you suddenly braked hard, leaving me nowhere to go except straight on.  I lost about 10 secs or so.

Had a short spell racing Sandor, each taking it in turn to have an off, during which time I noticed team mate Geoffers in the pits he joined about 1 1/2 mins behind me so I had to keep driving hard as I calculated he'd catch me near the end.  Sandor also pitted and shortly after retired.

Chuffed that I set a new PB in the race, still about 9 sec off the leaders but  over 2 sec quicker than my previous PB in practice.  (Sorry to overtakers if I was less cooperative than usual, once again sorry PR but all those seconds count when a faster driver is catching you.

Geoffers duly passed me leaving me in my usual last runner position.

BTW, do England time will be back one hour on this sunday as here in Portugal? Winter time?

Geoffers, so sorry for not giving you a clean pass. I was being a sprat. Deserved the tap so no hard feelings.

No worries. Tried to be predictable when being overtaken only this time I picked a spot where I couldn't move away from the racing line (barriers to the left  Grin).
Glad I didn't ruin your race and championship battle.

No worries Tony, I should have been a bit more patient. It isn't up to you to let someone past who is a lap behind you! After several non finishes recently, I was determined to finish even though I was miles behind after spinning into the barriers early in the race & pitting to repair a very ill handling car. Enjoyed the hotlapping though, eventually managed to get into the 2.10s.

Congrats to the podium & cya at Monza.

Hi BlueEyes,
The replays for all recent races can be found HERE (the link is on the dark-blue bar near the top of your screen). You'll probably need our skin pack to watch the replay properly Undecided

Are you going to join us for some future races? You'll find that you'll get quicker racing with us then the AI.

That depends on

a) when you guys do your races
b) how many laps you do and
c) how many people participate

I do assume that clean racing is not an issue Wink

I'm currently racing at racedepartment.com and really enjoy the online races (I just started GTL and the online races about three months ago, so I'm still acquireing the basic techniques of racing these beautiful cars and doing that against human players, which requires clean, clean driving imo)

Thanks for the link, I already found the other link for your skinpack which I will download as well.
Do you guys share car setups, driving techniques etc amongst each other or do you rather go your separate ways? I'm asking cause I found that there are racing platforms for beginners and for pro-drivers who then do their own things. Since I am still far away from considering myself a pro (a status which I intend to reach one day), this is an important aspect for me Smiley

That depends on
a) when you guys do your races
b) how many laps you do and
c) how many people participate
a) Thursday nights
b) races are about 45-50mins long mostly
c) about 20 per race normally in GTL

Do you only race on Thursdays???

This Thursday, I have my first league race, but I could join next Thursday!? Roll Eyes
I guess, I could just replace my regular training sessions against the AI by racing the much longer races with you guys and improve my driving skills  Cheesy   (I believed that there is only RD where GTL races are offered, and GTL4u, but they do 2 hours races which I unfortunately don't have the time for Sad   )

btw, could somebody give me some tips for Albert Park? This first leaugue race takes place there and is set for this upcoming thursday! AND I definitely want to get my lap time down to at least 2:12 min (currently running at 2:14 at best)

Any ideas?

what car are you doing it in & what are you having problems with? (re car or circuit)

We only do GTL races on Thursday... though we usually get a group of us having fun practicing on Wednesday nights on the server.
