Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 63s

In a night race, Minton loses control of his car at the start and spins, ending up facing the wrong way. As LigelC and Racepace approach Minton attempts a controlled spin but in the process of this execution he collides with LigelC and Racepace causing them both to have spins.

Server replay time: 134s

Sandor is following Legzy through the twisty mountain section. As they clear the final right hander they see Geoffers upturned car sliding left to right across the track. Legzy reacts by moving to the left to miss Geoffers wreck but Sandor is also taking this route so Legzy and Sandor collide. Sandor is able to continue but the impact sends Legzy into Geoffers. Legzy then is upturned but is able to continue after a while.
I would have to put this down to a racing incident as I see no blame can be shouldered by any of the drivers involved.

Hey GT sounds like you have used a bit off both solutions. If I have understood your message correctly your saying that you haven't downloaded the local_ip_lobby text file but have added the IP address 85.214.139.23 into your lobby file and not used anti deco icon launch. Yes?

That's correct Tony. Never used the anti deco patch and manually rewrote my hosts file.

IMO I think this race should start at 4am....it is still dark....and at least if anyone looses their headlights early on, they will be able to see where they are going later on in the race. Otherwise I think it will be hard to lap around here in the pitch black, and could lead to there being a huge pile up in the twisty sections of the track....which wouldn't be good for anyone Sad

Just my thoughts.

Really not a fan of Bathurst myself so pretty unlikely to attend tonight. The thought of driving around a track I don't like, haven't mastered, is only just wide enough for one car and all this in the dark is a bit of a turn-off. IMHO it's one of those "historic" circuits (Nord & Le Mans style), that isn't actually very good fun to race at.

Hope you enjoy it, see you next time.

Have you removed the www.gtl-server.net line from your hosts file?

I also had to use games.simracing.org.uk to connect to rather than the server IP address.

BTW inside my 'etc' file (where the HOSTS file is, I have 3 HOST "books".
One called HOSTS, one called HOSTSBACKUP2377653..... and one called HOST.
I've been changing the HOSTS one, is that correct?  blink
Can someone remotly work in my PC? I would love to race tonight.  yes

BTW, I will be at home today between 14.30 and 15.30.

As a wise man once said, poppycock!

It's tight in places but catch a V8 supercars race and tell me it's not good for overtaking, with those long drags out of tight corners and big stopping zones there's more than enough to scope to pass, you're missing out mate but cheers for the uplifting post LOL.

It's a daunting challenge alright but it's events like this that spice up proceedings IMO. Can't want...just hope we can get the CSL master sorted in time.

PR - I'm at work now but can try and help later....home about 6PM GMT.

It's midday & we have 13 "yes" votes.
If we get just two more votes, committed & able to join tonight, this race will go ahead.
If not, we will proceed with the PnG fun event @Goodwood.

We'll do our best to give an official verdict as soon after 5pm as possible, but if it gets to 15 yes votes, you'll already know it's on.

Lastly, if you still can't connect, please tell us what happens, what you've tried & if you tried any of the previous patches/fixes already? If we/anybody can help you, they will Smiley

I tried what you suggested but that didn't help. Sad It seems strange that I've tried to find the server during the week about 50 times and I've seen it twice on the list. Huh

Anyway, thanks for the tip Simon.  Cool

Yeah that is odd API, I'm using the IP and it's rock solid - has connected every time. Perhaps it's a conflict with another service?

Ade mentioned this not so long ago, it saves memory by clearing down the background services, worth having anyway, I use it every race but I wonder if it might help in some way - http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

I know it's a bit drastic but these people having issues, is it worth reinstalling do you think? You can still copy across the GameData folder and PLR so it's not too much of a pain but that might at least eliminate any issues caused by legacy files?? Not sure if its good advice but its definitely what I'd do if I was running out of options.

My antivirus program informed me of some Trojan or some other virus after installing this Gamebooster, I got rid of it very soon after that. Might be a false alert though...
