Well that went well. NOT!

After starting a lil late due to a misunderstanding by Hristo, we got underway. I had best sectors for a mid 28 in the BRM, but could only manage a 29.6. Not bad, could be better.

Race was looking like being a good one provided I could keep it going. I didn't. Start was good, had to check up to avoid hitting the car in front and all was well through Copse. Maggotts good, lined up somebody in Becketts on the brakes, and noticed somebody running majorly wide. The bleeding nutter then ran right into my line on the inside of the exit of the corner. T-boned, spun round, spun round again and went on my way. Then found myself catching the guy in front, 7 seconds up the road, when I had the pedals disconnect from the wheel on the exit of Club, and I had to re-attach them. 2 laps later, I wasn't paying attention to the road and smacked into the Bridge.

One to forget really!

Popped the engine again, and I wasn't even trying !!  Sad

At this point I'm withdrawing from any more 67 races, as I don't drive them enough and don't seem to be able to get through a race with one.

I hope my misfortune didn't effect the outcome adversly, but the GPFun guys did seem to be packing out the mid field when I left.

Race results, scores and replay link at this page

http://www.gpfun.net/public/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1702

Sorry if I don't copy everything here, at least for now.

Final score should be
GPFun67:       79 points
UKGPL:          64 points

Please double check it.

THanks for the race!

It is probably your gearshifting, Mike. You have the speed and you don't seem to be making mistakes, so if you just sort the reliability problems you're good to go. Hope you reconsider.

We were going strong while you were in the race and JR was also running in the top 5 I think. I noticed Evil running 3rd at one point as well.

After a very nice battle we had an unfortunate collision with Paolo which took him out of the race. I went for the inside at the end of the backstraight and we entered the corner side by side. I just couldn't hold it to the utmost inside, so my rear slid a bit wide and affected Paolo's car enough to send him off. Sorry, Paolo, I tried my best and went right near the wall on the inside, but just couldn't scrub off enough speed. As with my previous attempt, which ended with myself going completely wide and you retaking the lead on the inside, I was hoping it would be repeated, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Well, at that point it looked like a decisive victory for UKGPL, but then Mike retired, JR retired and Evil dropped back, so suddenly GPFUN had 3 cars in the top 4. That pretty much decided the outcome. Nice race still, grats all who took part! Seems everyone did their best!

Cheers,

-=Hristo=-

P.S. Sorry for the misunderstanding at the first server run, I took it that we can practice as soon as we join the server. Kinda funny when people were going backwards to make me realize, but I thought they're some crazy people going backwards for whatever reason, lol. More fun was they didn't know that would DQ them.

P.P.S. Jethro, sounds like a lot of struggle, good effort for not giving up before you suffered a lot.

Hi UKGPL drivers,
thank you very much for yesterday race.
I really apreciate the Inter League formula, is always a pleasure to fight with different people from other leagues.

My apologizes to Will Tway, I had a contact with him at lap 9, could be a clean pass but I lost a bit the rear of my car at the entrance of Becketts when we were paired. Sorry if I have ruined your race.

Congrats to Hristo, is a shame for the contact with Paolo, could be a nice battle for the leader.

See you next race!
Cheers,
Davide

PS: Apologizes from MikeG to Jethro Walters too, for the crash at first lap.

Grats to the GPFunsters!  Good racing with you.  TY for posting the results and the server replay.

Splendid run for our Hristo to score a fine win and showing blistering pace in the Ferrari 312.  Nice to see what the car can do in an alien's hands compared to my fumbling.   Grin  Bad luck re the collision with Paulo.

I netted a PB in Q to start P12 just a tick off times logged by teammates JR and FP but in the race, they were both just gone!  I was relieved...as opposed to relieving myself...that the gang all seemed to get thru T1 on L1 without grief.  PHEW!  Always a pucker factor!  Over in Becketts, still on L1, I noted to cars off and one of them was green.  Bugga!  BTW, very nice to be able to spot teammates via the special liveries.  TY for posting the files.  That tangle did promote me to P10 and I held that til L5 when a green car roared up in my mirrors and I pulled over smartly to let it thru.  It was Lorenzo recovering from the Becketts incident.  Next lap, I got a poorish exit from Chapel and Sergio had the run on me down to Stowe.  Done like dinner and no point in trying to fight him off.  This left Will right with me and he seemed to have a good head of steam up so I quickly let him thru to take off after Sergio.  L8 and Will goes wide at the dreaded Abbey curve to get on the grass and he eases up to let me whistle by.  L9 and an unfortunate collision between Will & Davide puts them well back of me.  L12 and my only significant error of the meet as I had a 90° spin at Club costing me about 5 seconds but I managed to recover without losing a position.

For the balance of the race, I just tried to click off consistent laps without error and managed fairly good if not outstanding laps.  In the dying laps, I lost time being obliged to lift for the GPFun freight train rolling thru in positions P2 thru P4 to put me a lap down.  Hope I didn't get in anyone's way to any great degree.

Man that was a good time. No worries at all Davide. I stayed as wide as possible but thankfully I was able to continue. Abbey can kiss my #$%...I never know if I should coast through there w/o brakes or tap them.... but I only ran wide there once....and my undies were clean at the end... laugh

I was never alone for long and had a awesome time reeling in Isidoro but could never get past his Brab. Great run Isidoro.

Overall I made 2 or three mistakes but was pleased with 10th. Especially pleased with H's setup. It held steady and took a good deal of the "pucker factor" out of play....

Definitely one of the closer races of this series. I was just praying that had I'd finished 9th...it wouldn't make a difference..... Wink

Grats to H and all the GPFun guys. Excellent work on the liveries!!

Thanks to all the organizers!!!

Hope to see y'all again.

Cheers,

Will

Big thanks to Luca for organising the server and trying to control the UKGPL team ::)and to all at GPfun for this race and the car liveries..it certainly makes spotting your own team mates far easier.

Grats to Hristo for the race win and to Gpfun for the overall points win, at least we were closer to you this time  lol.

I was pleased to finish this race as high as 5th, but a little disappointed that I did not get a podium.

The Eagle is a different beast to the Honda which I am used to. On Friday evening I was still struggling with a setup that did not inspire any confidence but by Sunday we had something that worked.

The race was good fun, if a little lonely, once I had settled into race pace. I passed several UKGPL drivers and cars retiring moved me slowly up the leader board. I was passed by a Ferrari from GPFun after a couple of good laps fending him off and although I chased him I went wide at Beckets and a spin ended that episode.

After that It was a steady drive to the end and 5th place. I don't think I was ever as high as the 3rd spot that Hristo claims, but I was concentrating so hard that I might have missed it.  lol.

Thanks again GPFun..looking forward to the next race already .

Lol, or Pribluda was lying to me again!

Thanks for the liveries indeed, it was much more comfortable knowing who is your "enemy" and who isn't, as soon as you approach other cars.

I was never alone for long and had a awesome time reeling in Isidoro but could never get past his Brab. Great run Isidoro.

Hi, this is my first post here, my name is Isidoro and I am from Monza, yesterday it was my first race in Inter League, and sorry for my (strong north italian logic and accent) bad english speaking/writing ;-)

I got training for Cooper but finally, 5 minutes before the beginning, i knew i had to jump in Brabham, and a i was.. 18th on the start grid ;-) So i decided to drive having in mind only one thing: let's see the end flag!

And for me was really a great race!
Code:
HIGHEST CLIMBER

Driver                           Start Finish  Change
Isidoro Ghezzi67                    18      9       9

ON TRACK LAPS

Driver                           Laps/Total    Percent
Isidoro Ghezzi67                    (39/39)     100.00

Yes mybe i was too slow, but trust me, it was really hard to keep Will Tway behind of me! He was for sure faster than me, and for me "cutting" the end flag half second ahead of him was like a victory ;-) Thanks a lot to Will he was really correct in the fight and finally we got really good fun.
Thanks a lot to ukgpl and gpfun and... obviously to GPL ;-)

Thanks to Luca and the GPFun drivers for another great race, and congratulations on the result.  A captain's performance from Hristo got him to the top step of the podium but Gianluca and Enrico joined him, and sadly for UKGPL retirements due to mechanical failures down the field meant that GPFun67 had a slight edge in this very close contest, 79-64.  We hope to race you again this autumn, in our season 18!

The results from all the races this season are here: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=209&theme=6
