My Race is finished like The Burning Man Festival... hang hang hang hang hang no no no no
What a shame...
Tell me about that, your car crossed the track in the shape of a fireball right in front of me, pretty scary moment LOL

That race was so good, I will see if I can make a video of this one. As I started last due to having dinner while qualifying was on, I had to make a comeback and the fights during the first two laps were coool Smiley

Then the battle with H@L, trying to stay at his slipstream in a car that had 10 less km/h and was overreving all the way behind his Viper. Engine just survived Tongue

I was having to calculate where I could overtake him without being passed again in another straight lol I was planning to try some really difficult move in the last sector of the last lap. He ran wide before the Mulsane straight though and I had victory with that laugh

Quali: P9 with a pb of 4:20 Smiley

Race: went well up until lap 6 when I ran wide at Tertre Rouge and tussled into the 1st chicane ending up in the gravel, which put me right back. I then started making lots of mistakes trying to regain time and had Legzy off through Dunlop. Very sorry for that Legzy and hope it didn't cause any damage. I forgot to take a DT at the end of the lap but did so later on Embarrassed

I eventually put it in the wall and lost my right front, managed to limp back to the pits on the grass in true Le Mans fashion, but chose the wrong pit option meaning that I exited the pits still with only 3 wheels Shocked

C'est la vie!

Great race Grin

Mega battle with Busi at the end. We were robbed of a finale on the last lap after I made a mistake. :'(

Very nice overtake on the outside of Turn 1 Busi. Cheesy

When you were slipstreaming me I thought 'What? you cant do that. Its not fair. lol.' I could not shake Busi and he stayed rite on me which enabled him to keep up for the entire lap and have a possibility of overtaking at the end and start of the lap. Most amusing.

Awesome pace as well Busi. I think you killed me in the pit stop. My crew walked out just as I was entering even though I had requested it early in the lap. Proper Le Mans style.

Well done Busi and SBG.

Been recovering from me birthday bash today (the muscle strain from dancing was worse than the hangover, you know when you are getting old Wink) but enjoyed the Lemans race so much decided to give a whirl. Really enjoyed it.

Did a new pb in quali but knew it was going to be very hard to keep the Vipers at bay in race. Couldn't really do it and Hol was much too fast for me. More surprised to see a Datsun catch me , great drive Busi, and gutted when even that thing had more straight line speed than the 811 Smiley. Congrats to Busi and Hol.

Good to see 3 different makes in top 3. Hope we do another, preferably on a twistier track  angel

Another "almost" race for me. Popped in a great lap in qually to start 4th and had a good fight with Spanner and TrueTom early on.

Unfortunately I dinked the front on the armco at one point and lost some front end bite. Was still lapping pretty quickly so I left it until my scheduled stop to fix.

Even more unfortunately, I completely forgot that when requesting a stop here you need to do it in the second half of the lap or the crew get bored and wander off. So it was that I came into the pit lane only to find them rushing out of the garage with the tyres - despite my blue light still being on - and I must've lost an extra 10 seconds there. Angry

That meant that once the stops had shaken out I'd lost out to both TT and Spanner. Worse still, Lazlow was on a charge and was soon past me. He and Spanner were then holding each other up, but once I'd caught them I misjudged my braking into Indianapolis (or perhaps I misjudged how much later I could brake than them - only the replay will tell me) and ploughed into the gravel, losing over 20 seconds and spoiling what should've been a great 3-way scrap over the last lap and a half. :'(

Need to find somewhere twisty for next week...

Replay and provisional results posted

LapChart

Bit of a catalogue of errors for me tonight, especially sorry to Matt who probably wondered what I was doing as I spun across his nose. Finally started to get the hang of the circuit after the pitstop but my faster pace/change in ambient temps meant I got a low fuel warning so had to pit before the last lap. But after I messed up the pit board (always panic when they start telling me to hurry up) they then told me I had to kill the engine. I've had problems with the game ignoring the button before and it was the last straw. Just 7 secs faster in the race than qually  Embarrassed

To add to the problems, Dave couldn't understand me on TS. Seems something's gone wrong there. PD monitor crashed so I had no idea my fuel consumption tyre wear etc. Track was ok Wink

Jolly good fun.
Made a right pommes of lap 1, passed Legzy and Picnic down the 1st part of Mullsanne, then found
it was too late to get over to the left for the right line into the chicane, jusssttt made it through
but was a mess, this allowed Smokey to catch me on the next straight, and just to press home
the point about my unpredictable braking I got a good solid smack sur le derrier, he did have
cars pressing hard, like.. as i went down the wall backwards I could see Busi (huh? wotseedoinbackthere?)
havin a chuckle a cars length behind. After that we played chat et souris, as I would catch at the end of
the lap, pass, pull away a bit, then fall off, catch etc etc. Not sure what happened after that
just concentrated on keeping whoever was behind behind.

Chortle.

AH yes, had forgotten about the blue streak then flashed past my nose as I exited the one at the end of the Mullsanne
Late braking? looked like no braking! I winced, thinking "ooh that's gotta hurt" I would definately have lost
my gruntles if you'd taken me with you, as it was, no prob.

I completely forgot that when requesting a stop here you need to do it in the second half of the lap or the crew get bored and wander off.

That explains it. I did not loose as much time as you Dave. Seems like I got away with that then. Only lost about 1.5 - 2 seconds I would say.

Good job it did not rain. I would have had no chance with Busi and SBG going so fast.

Idea for the next track (not a demand angel). Laguna Seca. I do not think that has been used in any UKGTR championships for a while.

Le Mans? yawn Nordscheisse? yawn

Except for some close moments with DG and Spanner after pitting I was driving alone the whole time. Not even the rain to keep me company...  sleep1

I take it you could still understand me okay? I checked my TS connection afterwards and it was on the right codec, and strangely I had no problems hearing you when you first joined the channel, but shortly afterwards it started to get more and more distorted, until eventually you sounded like a distant analogue radio signal and I couldn't make out anything you said. Huh

Yes Dave. I had a play in TS when I quit and it seems something went wrong with the microphone. I got rid of the noise by unplugging and plugging back in and meddling with the audio settings but only to the point where I could dimly hear the local test work. Unsure what disaster has fallen on it just now  Undecided

That was a circus number, like the tiger inside the fire circle...what a gorgeous choreography Smiley Did you enjoy it Busi?
Anyway i think i've to start to follow your philosophy... "to finish first, first you have to finish"... 4 races since i joined here, but i've never seen checkered flag... Really bit ashamed... Hope that in PnG event tomorrow i'll make something better...
