Division 1 returns to Mosport with its majestic sweeping curves and crests, recently improved with a new update on the graphics.

The long downhill turn 2 is always ready to spit the unwary out onto the grass and the compression and hairpin at Moss tests the setups and driver control. The jump at the end of the straight is also a good place to blow the rev limiter in the heat of battle, so beware.

The last three rounds of this season are going to see some very tense races, with points and finishing a priority amongst the top half a dozen drivers as they jostle for the top league places.
Recently we have seen a few more cars on the grid as newer members try their hand in this Division which has made the racing more interesting for everyone. Let’s keep those grids topped up right through to the last race of the season.

Oh, and one small reminder about racing at Mooseport…..watch out for the ruts !!!

Seems I'll be available to run this event afterall.

I mentioned in another thread that I planned to go to Mosport this particular weekend for the annual VARAC Vintage Car Festival and wouldn't be around for the UKGPL event.  However...

Some time ago, I made a policy decision that if the money-gouging oil companies raised the price on a litre of gasoline to $1.00 CDN, I'd cancel that...and other travel...plans.  It tipped over that mark last week.  Swines!

I suppose that $1.00 CDN(0.635 Euro)for a litre of fuel would be positively heavenly for the European crowd but over here, it's rape!

That's about 54p a litre - we pay over £1 in the UK so half price - my idea of heaven anyway  angel
Almost worth a ferry ride over the bering straight to tank up  Wink

I might be late, or no show, for this race. Embarrassed
My good wife has just informed me that we are going to be in the Midlands on Sunday doing the "family" thing, so I have no idea what time I my be home. Undecided

Hopefully I will survive and arrange an early exit Wink

I guess this is something even SHE can't overturn. Hope you make it though, Clive.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Server had a hissy fit at me with "network error" messages in chat, and then it booted me. Tried to reconnect, too late. Was gonna be 2nd on the grid and had a real shot at a result. So frustrated, really wanted this one. AARRGGHH!

Bah, shortest race I've had so far this season.

Started well enough, went into the first corner and me and Tim had a coming together. Need to check to replay to see what happened but from what I remember, I went for a gap but Tim didn't see me and took the racing line. My apologies Tim, but we were a good half car length apart when warp intervened. Just another peril of sim racing I guess.

Had a great start off the line, so much so I had to back off early to avoid the car ahead.
I then gained the attentions of the BRM behind (Including a possible nudge) so dicided while it was clear I'd best take the inside line and get out of there way - unfortunatly it wasn't clear as Sam had hidden in my blindspot and I turned in on him Sad
Added lag made the relatively light contact fatal for both of us, Sorry Sam  death

Was looking good for a podium too  :'(

here is my race report:

qualified P3, a pb by about 0.5 secs. Very pleased with the lap time  Smiley  The BRM and I are becoming better friends recently.

The BRM was over-steering like Tiff Needel was driving it, but I was quite fast here.

P2 did not take the start and got a blinder off the line and passed Mr Tway I think for second place. Running in P2 I was pushing very very hard and only loosing a second a lap to Hristo. This was good but the guy behind was faster and pushing me hard. I thought he was making an overtake into T2 and gave him a lot of room but he backed out. Even though he had a second a lap on me...it was not possible to overtake (I blame the rear diffusers  Grin ) I actually pulled away a little, but ran wide over the grass in T2 and found myself in P3.

as I did not have to make a pit stop, I knew that I'd held the second place man up enough so that I'd re-pass him as long as I kept to within 10 secs.

Sure enough, with 8 laps to go, he was 8 secs behind. I started to get closed down but then pulled away as I guess he made some mistakes. Anyway, I started cruising for the line and as I passed the start/finish with 2 laps to go, the petrol started to run out   Sad

Annoying as I'd over-filled by 4 laps. Still, I was lucky to finish as I was often in to low a gear and revving the beejesus out of me green wagon in order to keep the pace. I regularly over-fill for these races by 10 laps or so to be sure not to run out, but I wanted to be as competitive as possible here as I really smelled a good result.

After running out of petrol, I was gutted...head in hands, weeping gutted. I felt robbed I tells ya! But then joy of joys I still made the podium, so that was a nice consolation. laugh

As a side note, this race actually gave me a workout! My arms actually ache from all the hacksawing of the wheel that was going on. Especially in qualy, where the green machine was regularly sideways.
