Thanks

We used to have screen freeze problems at Riverside, it's even removed from list of tracks to use in oAo league. Hope it would be OK for this race.

Just realised I can't make it anyway as I have to go and watch my young nephew play his trumpet at the Sage in Gateshead!

I may have to give this one a miss too. Got a fairly early start to get down to Papworth Hospital for half 11! 3 hour journey. Bikes the favourite option at the moment, to get out of rush-hour traffic in good time!

Looked good, got off the line well. Clive and Syd slowed one another at T1 so I lesurely took to the outside to go around them
Clive pulled straight across on me, I moved to avoid contact, got suctioned by the super sand and span into Jethro despite having my foot on the brake - exploding various engine bits and loosing wheels in the process.

Not a happy camper  Sad

After realising I had the wrong track, and munching on strawberries after taking the dog out for a walk, I had about 15 minutes to get the correct track, learn it without a trackmap and put a basic setup together! Done and done by the end of qualifying. For the race, I had a good start considering I couldn't see the flagman's gonads, got up and took the first corner as I intended (flat, inside line). Looking good for the first right of the esses, and suddenly an Eagle of FMG comes flying across the track. He has Clive to blame for that one I think. It took me clean out, tumbling over the fence. Game over after 1 corner. Possibly the shortest race I'll ever do. I was looking forward to this one, as it's a completely new track to me and I was looking forward to pushing a bit hard. Hristo and FMG out early meant I had a good chance for high placing. Not meant to be!

sorry if T1 was a bit of a mess guys but I was aware that Hristo was inside me in my blind spot and i could not see him, plus that 2.5 litre Brabham is not blessed with stunning acceleration. At least not with the gearing I was using . Undecided

T1 wasn't a mess, just the carnage afterwards. Wink You'd do well to look either side in the early stages of the race. I did! Still made no bloody use whatsoever!

I woke up with 15 minutes left in Qualifying, downloaded the track, installed it, joined server with about 10 to go, copied over my Road Atlanta setup, did 3 attempts to qualify. First two ended in the sand, but the last one worked and I took pole from Evil.

The start was tricky as I had 2 cars, both in my blind spots on the left and right, so it was a bit worrying through T1. Evil was keeping up and the gap didn't grow beyond one and a half - two seconds for the next two laps, but the car felt really odd on full tanks, snapping here and there.

Eventually lost the rear a bit into the fast right leading to the hairpin before the long straight, which sent me to the gravel and the rear left wheel clipped the hay bales and got ripped off (some iron hay bales those !!! ).

The whole thing was a rather fun exercise to do, lol.  Roll Eyes

Grats to those who won.  Grin

What's your browser? I use firefox with adblockplus. It also has a built in pop-up blocker. So when I click on that link, it opens only a single page with white background and the news page.
