Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 230s

Wilier locks up and hits Ginsters' rear in the run down to Rettifilio, sending him sideways into Shark, who runs across the grass and is bumped again by Wilier as he rejoins.

  • Wilierpenalty — rear ending Ginsters — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 368s

Greg is suffering from poor FPS as he trails Shark into della Roggia. He misses his braking point, and tries to avoid Shark by turning in very early, but hits Shark's left rear, spinning him off into the gravel. Both lose lots of time and places rejoining.

Greg does rejoin slowly in order to let Shark back onto the track first, although he almost collects Gerald in the process.

Because he was suffering from technical problems, I'm going to let him off with a warning, but drivers should be driving, and especially braking, very conservativey if they are having PC or controller problems.

Server replay time: 502s

Shark gets level with Greg at the turn in point for Lesmo 1; as they enter the corner Shark is edging ahead, but Greg cannot see him until he is almost fully into the corner, and there is some slight contact, before Shark completes the pass.

Server replay time: 1485s

Shark gets a run on Ginsters coming out of Lesmo 2, and gets alongside as they exit Serraglio and go under the bridge. Ginsters moves right, doesn't leave Shark any room, and there is some slight contact. He's lucky there isn't a big accident as a result.

I’m sorry but I won’t attend the last race of the season  Sad and when I was eager to test my new system online with GTR (running in SLI with two XFX 7800 GTX Extreme Grin ).

My nephew (6 days old)  Grin and his mother have just come home today from maternity hospital and we’re going to have dinner together and spend some of the evening with my brother, wife and newborn son.

I’m already anticipating the new GTR (or GTL) season with great expectation.

Have a good race guys and may the best man win Wink

Well finally won sprint cup  Grin Think me shark and mark were quite well matched over the season with Mark probably the fastest overall driver in the GT's, I just attended more races Wink Qualified well with 1.42.7 just 0.2 off my pb Grin Had a qually accident with Jamera.....Sorry fella Sad The race went well with mark just pipping us into the first corner. We had a nice battle after that for a while, nearly cocked it all up though, coming into the 2nd chicane went down mark's inside but missed my braking point flying over the rumble strip, Oppps. Then I was just pressuring mark as much as I could and He was making it as hard as possible to overtake, really enjoyed the challenge of trying to get passed, but i think mark braked a little to late into the last bend and went straight on, damn it could've been donny all over again a race right to the wire. Nice to win champ win a victory  Grin
Now the sprint's are over is there any chance of a few special race's with driver's from both sprint cup's racing in a elise with fixed setup's or something like?

First of all well done to Jon for the championship win, great driving all season.
Also a big thankyou to all the guys behind the scenes making it all possible, without a doubt the best league I have ever raced in.

On to the race.
Qualed in 5th with a new PB, always nice to do.
I'm begining to realise that Monza is not a good track for me, for the second night running a nightmare of a race.
All started on lap 2 with a sudden FPS drop to around 20 and very jerky graphics, my normal FPS is around 45-50.  Unfortunatly I then missed my braking point at the 2nd chicane and knocked Shark into a spin, all I can do is applogise, sorry.
After that it was a case of trying to make up lost ground and following Shark around for a few laps until I spun again.  Finished 7th in the end, not a good race.
However my FPS managed to fix itself after a couple of laps.

Well overall a very enjoyable season, looking forward to the next one.

That was a worthy end to what seemed to me a great first season. (Forgetting the grief of getting GTR to run properly at start).

To retain third in championship I knew I had stiff task of beating shark tonight but I was determined to give it a real good go. Quali went well and I set pb to nab 5th to sharks 6th on grid. Now the heart was really pumping Grin. Could not believe it when someone misjudged first corner and nudged me around. Greg and Shark duly sped into the distance. Couldn't believe my luck when both span two laps later and I nipped through to claim what seemed a healthy lead. I settled into my sensible groove and hoped Shark would run out of time to catch me.

Fat chance, he caught me with about 4-5 laps to go. With nothing to lose I pushed as hard as I possibly could and for first time this season forgot about a points finish. Seemed to be just about holding him off until tom slipped into gravel in front of us and, beacuse we both slowed, Shark was now right with me whilst I was right behind tom. Now my heart rate hit the roof and I constantly overdrove in my attempt to stay ahead. As he rarely has to compete with drivers of my "skill" it seemed to totally nunpluss shark and he seemed to be wary of my unintentional wildness. Great fun. That was until I missed second chicane, for the second time on the trot, only to rejoin but he duly had the greater pace and I had to let him through. Thanks for a truly memorable race and congrats on your thoroughly deserved third spot. You, Mark and John were clearly a class apart.

I will not forget my first sim season and can not wait for next Grin.

p.s. Thanks to Paul and Mark. The team trophy is a small reward for all your efforts.

Yeah, I felt the pressure in the end.  Just shows that no matter how much practice you have of being out in front - I think I'm better than most in that position - nothing works like a bit of pressure....well, OK, a -lot- of pressure, LOL Cheesy

Great race anyway - I went all out for it, and wound up snatching a brake, going straight on at Para and retiring.  Oh well - it was a superb battle for a while, I was enjoying hanging it on the line to try and stay in front.

With a massive amount of good fortune I've retained 2nd in the ch'ship, barring any penalties - and I think we have the team trophy as well.  Great job Crawlers Grin

I don't think I was the fastest overall over the season though - maybe I was at the start of the season, but towards the end I think you overtook me, Jon - I couldn't have gotten near the pace you set today, a 42.7 in the Lister is truly stunning.  Great job, and congrats on the championship - you deserved it.

Thanks to everyone at UKGTR for the season, it's been a lot of fun.  I particularly liked the fact that it was only once a week, and very competitive.  Roll on the next one Cheesy

Firstly, a big congratulations to JonM for the win in both the race and championship, clearly well deserved. Got our work cut out for us in the Endurance Div1 as you'll soon be catching up with us if you keep showing the awesome pace you have been. Also well done to those dodgy Kerb Crawlers for the team championship good to see a competitive team championship to spice things up.

Onto the race report...
I was very dissapointed with my qualifying, don't know why i just couldn't get the job done, was miles off my PB (into the 1:43s) and it put me in my lowest starting position of the season. After yesterday's NGT i think i was a bit nervous and the low downforce setup of Monza is a bit too scarey when you're trying to push.

To my amazement though, even after Willier misjudged his braking rear ending SBG and like dominoes into me io Turn1 Lap1, I gained 2 spots very early on and it seemed like I had found my pace again as it felt easy getting up to 5th so quickly. Unfortunately Greg rear ended me not long afterwards causing me to spin and lose a lot of time. Had to push very hard to regain the lost time and eventually made my way up to SBG. Knew I needed to finish ahead of him so drove like a whippet with a rocket up my arse to catch him up and then as I got within a second or two he responded by upping his pace. I was still quicker just and caught him with 2 or 3 to go and time running out. Knew I would be able to take him on a straight at some point as I had taken some wing off and increased 6th from qualifying to make sure I had enough extra top end to go passed people. I stayed put for 1 lap to try and make him uneasy and check out the best place to do it and eventually got a run down the back straight where we touched briefly side by side just going under the bridge where the bump is, really unsettled my car and I backed off into the fast chicane, SBG then kindly made some sand castles in the yellow stuff and i was by to pick up 5th in the race and 3rd in the champ.

Good season, pleased with 3rd, Jon and Mark were the class of the field, but the whole field is competitive and has produced some strong and exciting battles for everyone. Roll on more UKGTR.

Like already mentioned, thanks to all who gave up their spare time to run this league. It it also my first online racing sim and i have really enjoyed it. There is a high standard of driving and courtesy, which is a credit to all in the league.

Congats to Jon on his championship win, well done dude, unlucky Mark, watched a lot of your and Jons scrap on replay and it was close stuff.

I qualified 3rd which was good for me, was expecting a reasonable position as it is a track i frequent on and i was in me F550, Had a 1.43.8, mark then done a lap just pipping me by a 1/10 of a sec (not sure if he improved on that) then Jon pissed over every1 with a 1.42.7 , That is a superb time in a lister man.

Sitting on grid it then occurred to me the 2 cars in front were fighting for chamionship honours and i could quite easily take 1 or both out at the first chicane  Shocked, my ass began to twitch............lol. Anyways no dramas at 1st chicane, comming to 2nd chicane Blaz made a move down the inside as i braked early, and got along side and i chopped him without making any contact, an appology to Blaz, i didnt realise u even made a move until i watched the replay. Rest of the race i had Blaz anywhere between 1-5 sec behind me all race and Joh and mark sped off, amazed to see a big cloud of dust as i came round the parabolica..........

Finished second which equalled my best finish, so happy with that!   Cheesy

I hope this league remains strong, although a concern for me is the GT sprints the last 2 or so races have only had half grids  Embarrassed . What happened to the reserves? Im am hoping most will stick with GTR for next season. Speaking of which will there be a next season!? lol  Will races remain the same, i for 1 would like to see : -Slightly longer race distance, maybe 45mins and a compulsery pit stop just to spice things up a bit  Grin

Thx all, FlyBri  Wink

Thanks to everyone behind the scenes, can only echo the sentiments of the posts before mine, great job guys!

(Even though I scored nil points!)

And sorry I missed most of the second half of the season, school is taking up a lot of time now, my Highers are (understandably, I hope) more important than SimRacing right now, but if there's a season 2, and I manage my workload better - Ill be back, and aiming for some points!

Thanks again everyon!

p.s. Well Done Jon!
