The race detail post states "Ford Capri RS 231kW" (which I think is the 310HP version) -  does this mean I cannot drive the Team Shark Capri this evening?  There seems to be only one 231kW version in the car list namely #872.

Shame you can't make it tonight Bill as Legzy and Tony have come up with a cracking circuit again. Why don't you get someone in to do the work then you can enjoy your retirement.

I've already opted out of lots of fiddly or standing still jobs - decorating, upgrading my computer myself, have lost lots of dexterity.

My wife likes her garden and I do the donkey work, cut the lawn etc, I then get positive support for my racing particularly latest equipment eg G25.  All about brownie points Laurie.

Great track... shame about the driver. I properly haddocked it!

Great last second Q lap from Ade to snatch pole!!

Not sure what happened whilst crossing the line on the first lap though! Was following close behind Steve H in the lead and his car stopped dead so I had an almighty smash.

Next lap I clipped the kerb on the inside of the 2nd part of that fast chicane and spun around.
Lap after that I clipped a lamppost and whilst checking in my mirror to see if I had a puncture I smacked another one full on, killing my engine!

I think my steering was damaged from the NetGlitch but not sure - was just getting into the swing of things!! Might have been the 103 litres of fuel!

It's really hard to see the apexes and kerbs when following someone closely and one slight miss of a turn in or braking point ends in disaster here more so than Monaco even as the speeds are higher at the dangerous parts!

It's like you have to really attack those chicanes otherwise you would lose way too much time, but there's a huge risk. Kind of like a whole lap of the chicane at the top of Imola's hill (after Aqua Minerale)!!!

Nice track though, reminded me of Enna Pergusa in GTR. Very satisfying when it goes right!

Can't wait to see how many "survivors" there are - but you all lasted longer than me so grats!!

Yeah, that end of first lap just ruined my first time back behind the wheel since, err, whenever I last had a disastrous UKGTL race, lol.

Came round in 1st, nice little power drift onto the s/f finish straight, not touching the kerb, and the rear of my car is launched up in the air for no reason.  Typical some glitch happens when you're leading - Bara may well have been a touch quicker but with the top speed advantage I wasn't going give that lead away.

Kind of lost concentration and also overcooked the tyres pushing too hard back up the field and after one too many crashes gave up.  Will maybe try GTL again sometime soon, it was pleasurable mostly.  Maybe I sorta miss simracing.  Undecided Smiley

Haven't played GTL in a VERY long time (other than figure of 8 sillyness).

Downloaded the track just before joining and no idea where any of the corners were, but after two qualifying sessions (thanks for the extra one, helped me be ready for the race!) I was up to speed.

Was up to 4th in two laps and then not too long before 2nd place and then when Paulo crashed I inherited the lead. What on earth!? Ade caught me up after 10 laps or so and sat behind me till I finally clipped one of those sodding curbs. Had a nightmare lap after that and dropped down to 4th. Caught up to Phil only to ram straight into a lamp-post! Then caught him up again with a few laps to go, overtook him with my straight line speed advantage in the GT40 and held onto 3rd place for an amazing result.

That track reminds me of Enna. You have to have balls of steel and be very good at aiming for the gap. LOL.

That will undoubtedly be my best result of this season (in fact that's one of my best ever GTL finishes full stop).

See you next time.

This is a great little track for racing - except for the LAMP POSTS which I managed to clobber and wreck the car when trying to get out of someones way.  Prior to that I had a very enjoyable drive.

Watched the rest of the race from the stand:
1 Great drive by Ade, he looked as if he was on rails   I Am Not Worthy
2 Great dice between Simon and Phill - lost count of the number of laps it lasted  thumbup2
3 Another good battle between Laslow and Legzey  thumbup2

Thanks for the entertainment.

Congratulations to the podium - Ade, API and Simon and to all those who managed to finish  clap clap (just sorry I couldn't manage it my self-still maybe next time)

reat fun race though rather frustrating  sweatdrop
Got fastest lap in prac, cool, started qual, sound went wonky on and off in one side
stopped car reseated all the ancient leads, ahh now it's ok
screwed up 1st run trying to hard, got a banker in 4th , not bad, was on a stormer... 1 sec quicker
before the last section, came round final turn I CAN SEE POLEEEEEE....thud "Next session"
Grrr, ah well 4th is fine, bit of good natured tussling, but no contact I saw, passed PR on the drag
down though the park, Barra and Steve are flying through the air as we round the final turn...
woohoo I'm now in the lead, drove carefull, then as we are approaching the fast chicane
I'm thinkin "Hmm cool, PR's tinter seems to be holding up... touch a kerb, spin, have to sit there
till everybody (I could see) had passed, got going, caught people up, sat behind Alex for a while
went sideways up a kerb trying to avoid contact under braking got going again.... caught spanner
eventually, who lost it, people dropped out , ended 7th. But I think I got fastest race lap as consolation prize  Undecided

The only time I drove the 914, I did two laps in the 1.43. Done before 1.41 and 1.42
with the Vette and Pantera. Although a bit slower, I thought that it could be a better
choice for me to pick the Porsche, because of the less weight and for being more smoth
on those chicanes and less tire eater.
I was surprised when for a few minutes I got the pole  Shocked with a 1.41 low after some tweak
with the power & coat and both antiroll bar settings. However ADE did an excellent job
puting the 2600 Capri in the pole and Baracus and Steve grabbing the next places.
Just before starting, I was thinking that the starting line could be more to the front, right
before first corner  Grin because my 4th place would be in very danger with all the super powered
cars around me.  Tongue
I did a very good start and after first corner, I realised that I was in 3rd   yes
for two laps things were hard but very enjoyable (after 2 weeks without racing online).
Then, Baracus and Steve crashed and I got the lead.  w00t
With nobody in front of me, I could focus on my own driving despite Simon (was nice to
see you again racing with us)  Smiley sometimes close the gap, floating between 2 and 4 seconds.
So, at lap 10 when the gap to Simon were right on the 4 seconds, I misjudged the exit
to the woods section and hit the lamp post...or it was a tree?...whatever...  eek
spun and my engine went down for good.  hammer
I was so happy to be back and I was with so much hope to give my first win to Prodigy team....
well, we must wait for another day.  whistling

Congrats to the fantastic driving and win ADE and to podium.

Excellent car choice, thanks for providing us to drive the less choosen cars.  Wink

Cheers

Well I'm really pleased.
From what I saw, the driving on the first lap was very well suited to this tricky track. Only Tibs I believe was unlucky enough to have 'Game over' on lap one. Not sure of the circumstances obviously.
I really like that track, it's like a high speed street circuit that's very unforgiving of mistakes & offers some very different experiences to any other tracks I recall using.
Was great to see returns to GTL from Simon & especially Steve who I managed to swap positions with a few times (even if it was just because you were trying to keep control of all the Vettes horses! Wink)
That's also probably the most I've enjoyed a GTL event since Tony's Lakeside event, having not been able to get myself totally into the races recently. Maybe it was the added danger that helped my concentration  Undecided
I basically spent the whole race with in reach of team mate Lazlow, never more then a couple of seconds ahead or behind. It was funny that mid race, he'd managed to open up what was probably the biggest gap we had, my front tyres were going off badly & then suddenly my car was a dream to drive & for about four laps in a row I set new fastest laps, catching & taking Lazlow in the process Grin, only to stuff up the 2nd chicane with about a lap & a half to go, handing him back the position  Roll Eyes Embarrassed Wink

Well done to all those that survived, unlucky to those that didn't.
See you in the Netherlands next week Cool

P.S. Great Team Oldie result last night too! Despite 50% of the team being AWOL, we managed three drivers in the top six & closed that gap at the top to the Green Ladies considerably! Kiss
