UKGPL Season 17 - Inter-League race - Watkins Glen

Note that this race is at the earlier time of 1900 GMT 2000 BST!

This is the tenth and final Interleague race of our season 17, and will use the 67 carset.  Our guests will be one of the strongest GPL leagues, the European Online Challenge, who are in their tenth year of racing.  Last season's race at Solitude was a clean sweep of the podium for EOLC, with Mark Edelmann the race winner.  John Roberts had our only finish, we would hope to do much better this time out.  Each league is to field nine cars, and there are no chassis handicaps, drivers will be racing to complete the distance and score points for their team.  The race will be on the EOLC server so we may switch chatrooms again- lets have a warm greeting for our hosts from EOLC!

Please be in VROC UKGPL chatroom passworded 'Savage' by 18:55GMT, (You will need to set up a channel called ukgpl if you haven't already done so)

I'll drive anything, but afraid I'm off on holiday tomorrow and won't see a computer until next Sunday. Just sign me up to any chassis and I'll be back on the day of the race  Smiley.

Not many of you have dropped a word yet, but here's a provisional team I came up with. Some people are not 100 % certain for participation, while others may change cars as we draw closer to the event. I have also assumed some chassis allocation before hearing from those drivers.

Sam..............Lotus
Jethro............Eagle
Lorenzo..........Ferrari
John..............Brabham
Evil................Brabham
Hristo.............Honda
Fulvio.............Cooper
<vacant>........Cooper
<vacant>........BRM

Please, write a post to let us know of your intentions and car preferences in advance. Assignments are subject to change still.

I can't make myself a deffinate availability wise.
I'll be at Prescott Hillclimb all weekend, and although it's only 40 mins from home I might not be back in time for an 8 o clock start if the weathers good enough to trailor the westfield up there.....

If it's wet I'll only have the Nissan so should be home by 6 leaving loads of time, if it's dry then you can add at least an hour for loading/unloading the Westy and putting stuff away Sad

I'm happy to provisionally take the Honda if you'd like though H, I think I'm still on 100% in terms of engine reliability so It could free you for a faster chassis  Smiley

Failing that put me as a stand by for anything  angel

Should be ok for this one in the Brab if that suits the rest of the gang, but 54 laps is a lot of Loops to survive!! lol. Roll Eyes

I might be available for this one if needed/wanted (BRM of course).

54 laps is a lot, so I think I'd have to modify my driving to enduro mode, i.e. drive a good 1-2 secs off my ultimate pace in order to have a chance of a finish.

Tell me about it!

James, you showed some considerable pace in the BRM in D1 races, so I'd be glad to have you on the team. Remember that the points scoring goes all the way from 1st to 18th in these races though, so finishing makes quite a difference for overall team points, especially from ppl those in the top 10.

Tim, I know you do brilliant with the Honda engine reliability management, but I was sort of willing to improve on that as well and that can only happen by driving it more. Plus I quite like the faster car assignments at the moment, it seems to work for the overall team points results in most of our races. So if you're willing to get into the Cooper, let me know. Though given Will's regular good results in the Cooper in the majority of races he ran this season, I have to give him priority if he choses to drive for us in this race.

I guess we'll figure it out in the following days.

May be a doubt for this. Due to circumstances out of my control I have no laptop to race with. So I'm a "maybe" for this one, put me as a reserve until I say otherwise please. Somebody else wants the Eagle, they're welcome to it. Smiley

I'm definitely unavailable for this, but I'm a last-minute "nobody else can go in the Eagle" person. I have no wireless at the moment.

OK, Jethro, you're a reserve for this one then. Yes, Tim, I like. Smiley

Doni, the remaining Cooper is yours if you don't mind.

It would be nice to have at least one more reserve for this one, so any candidates?
