Moderator's Report

SUMMARY

An imperious drive by Hristo earned him top spot on the podium. Ken once again proved the quicker cars are competitive despite the hefty pit stop penalty, bringing his Lotus home in second place. Fulvio completed the podium in his Cooper.

Server replay time: 0h05m18s

Lap 3 - Abbey - James Rye, Bernie Darwin, Michael Turner and Rick Nauman.

Bernie and James were having a titanic battle, swapping places down the Hangar Straight, and fighting wheel to wheel through Stowe and Club. Neither driver was willing to yield and as they approached Abbey contact was made and they were both sent into a spin. Michael and Rick collided with Bernie’s stationary Cooper. Fortunately all drivers could continue.

Having just tried to out drag Bernie down the straight from Club, James had not yet seen Bernie’s Cooper in his mirrors and consequently could not be sure he had made a clean pass. Bernie was determined to out-brake James but he could still see the BRM and hence should have realized that he had not achieved the necessary 100% overlap at turn-in required to claim the corner outright. This was clearly a contested overtake where neither driver had won the corner and neither was willing to yield. Michael and Rick tried to avoid Bernie’s stricken Cooper but there was nothing they could do to avoid contact.

Lap 30 – Becketts - Donnie Yourth and Jack O’Ferrall

Compared with his own performance on previous laps, Jack brakes very early for this corner. Donnie wasn’t expecting to close the gap so quickly and in an effort to avoid contact drove off the track into the fencing. Donnie could continue but unfortunately his car was damaged and he was off the pace for the rest of the race.

Donnie showed exemplary sportsmanship in taking extreme measures to avoid contact. There was no malicious intend on Jack’s part, he was not trying to “brake test” Donnie.

My guess would be Hristo or you, but it's hard to tell from the reports people post, so yes, I do have to ask. Wink

1) Hristo
2) Ken
3) Fulvio

A nice consistent race for me Smiley
I had a nice dice with Clive's Honda in the first part but then he spun and later leaved. Then I kept the gap from Tim's Honda till the end.

Ciao

Results uploaded.  Took a bit of sorting out because there were duplicate race numbers which was tripping up the importer.  This is probably down to people joining leaving and then re-joining the server.  Please try to keep rejoins to a minimum please gents.

Donny, you don't need to submit a replay clip from the server replay.  We already have the full server replay so there is no point sending us a clip from that.  It is better to submit a replay clip from your client replay so the moderators can judge if warp was a significant factor.

However, if you haven't saved your client replay then please download the server replay.  When you submit your report it is a BIG help for the moderators if you can provide the replay time (ideally in hours seconds and minutes - as displayed by the GPL replay not in seconds as implied in the incident report form) so the moderators don't have to trawl though the replay trying to identify the incident in question just from a textual description.  You'll need one or other of the replays to do that.

Sorry this post is so late after the race but just wanted to say thanks for letting me in.  Didn't expect great things being my first race and it did not disappoint.

First goof, I read that no reset is allowed in qualy.  So when I had a shunt that ruined the car after about 5 laps I retired from the session and patiently awaited the green flag.  Doh!  No reset allowed but continuing after Esc-Enter back to pits is OK!  What a dumbass!

Second goof, (actually the true first) I left my last practice while adjusting my gear choices.  Well I guess I never finished the job because I left 5th gear about 2 teeth away from 4th.  So I had to race with essentially only 4 gears and 4th/4th+ was way too low for the job.  Makes overtaking on a straight just about (no, make that absolutely) impossible.

So basically I just went around trying to not get in anyone's way.  Had some offs that would have ruined even a good effort but oh well... just you guys wait!!

Sorry to Darwin for the broadside.  Thought I was going to slip by to the left but at the last second you creeped into my path and K-BLAM.  Luckily we could both continue.  Hope you car wasn't too screwed up.

See ya Sunday.
