We do this one lap challenge thing in single player mode and take it in turns. Thing is it's usually me that ends up getting all childish about it.

Ok, thanks for the race all, it was intense as I had hard time controlling the Mustang when the tyres melted a few laps from finish. Had hard time concentrating because we had all kinds of hassle at home, dog, wife, lights etc..Managed to finish, and that is a great thing this season for me. Grats to podium, well done oily and Team Prodigy!

Popped it on pole by the tiniest of margins  Smiley , made a good start then went wide at the 90 left before the chicane letting Oily through.  Roll Eyes

Tried to stay in touch whilst looking after front tyres as best I could in the hope that his blistering pace would kill his tyres a bit later in the race.

Slowly but surely in the second half of the race I was able to slowly reel him in and start to pressurize him, hoping he'd make an error somewhere. He did come close a couple of times but not enough to let me past, i did notice however that at the end of the long straight/curves I could outbrake him by a useful margin, so I tried to line him u for a pass there but he took an ultra defensive line for many laps only to eventually seemingly lock the rears and slide wide, letting me get past to get the win a few laps later.  sweatdrop

An awesome scrap between Oily Ade and Myself, separated by mere seconds for most of the race, brilliant. Grats to you both.  Smiley

Thankyou to the lapped drivers too for very courteous moving over.  Wink

Lovely track and huge fun trying to tame that wild Mustang but by half way thru my talent ran out as did the tarmac. Left the track and became stranded in the wilderness. Great fun tho. Well done Oily.

And apologies to my poor victims, three of you I think. Hope I didn't upset your racing to much.

I found this last few days practicing here quite frustrating. Sometimes getting decent laptimes, but not knowing why. Well tonight was no different, but without the decent laptimes  Wink

Had a good scrap with Tibs for the 1st half of the race, but once my tyres got a bit tired, I was all over the shop & dropped positions like a stone.

Only contentious moment tonight was when Team Prodigy disappeared off into their own TS room  no. Hope you'll be back next race chaps as it's more fun with everyone there.

Legzy

p.s. I'll obviously be claiming credit for Oily's 2nd place... I saved him over 2 secs a lap just before the race started  Grin (but I'm sure he'll mention that in his report Wink)

It's a matter of strategies and concentration. But we all know Team Oldie have neither. Wink

When I have something to say, yes.  Tongue That's a rare occurrence though, goes with the occupation (Gothic Metal Guitarist & Songwriter).
And I still haven't managed to set the voice activation for my microphone properly, that's why I don't use it. Keep saying I'm going to sort it out but never get 'round to it. Roll Eyes

Not a bad race for me, like the track, like the cars, not to sure about the combination though. Fun to drive but a lot of work, especially once the tyres have worn.

Lap 2 following Madd and mr_oily in 3rd place, a few warnings that my car was warping
like Star Trek Enterprise starship. ESC and another night of fun went away.  cursing
I only hope my lag issues didn't ruin anyone's race. Everything as usual with internet
and PC, don't have a clue what happened...  Undecided
Congrats to podium.

Cheers

Cracking race chaps, at one stage I thought maybe even the top step was possible but I realise Madd was just doing the sensible thing and pacing himself - everyone's watching too much MotoGP at the moment I swear!

All through practice I was getting more and more frustrated as I loved the setup of the car but kept losing loads of time to everyone else on the straight(ish) bits. Just when I was convinced I must just be getting the world's worst corner exits Legz mentioned about checking the USB Leo Bodnar adaptor thing for my pedals (yes, thank you kindly mate! Smiley). Looking in the options I realised the damn thing was making my throttle flick randomly between 90 and 100% so it was time for an emergency pitstop. That serial plug needed moving in a hurry and by jove I was the man for the job. As my electric screwdriver whirred away to get the wheel off the frame with qually about to start I pretended it was a hydraulic jack or something and just for a moment got a taste of what I imagine it must be like to be a top flight F1 mechanic under pressure before a race. I don't get out much.  Grin

Qually was soo close as I struggled to work out the new braking points and lines with all the extra horsepower but on to the race and what a shocker off the line!? Reacted late and spun the wheels - I suspect had it not have been for fellow greeny PR's good manners he could have stuck one up the inside somewhere around the first half of the lap but thankfully he thought better of it!

I really couldn't get that same feel from the Stang that i had last time out in the Cobra where I could really take the edge off of the tyre wear - just a mental thing I'm sure but just didn't seem comfortable anywhere other than flat out. Applying a little  pressure on Madd in the early stages seemed to pay off when he ran wide but other than that I'm not sure you made another mistake did ya dude!?

From 1st I was watching the gap back to Matt like a hawk - surprisingly it was increasing by tiny amounts and I just couldn't decide from the cockpit/ living room whether I was running a good pace of if I was being played with as he held me at about 2 seconds LOL. A couple of fastest laps went in and I convinced myself I could do this by just getting my head down but I think a combination of some scruffyness, and Madd on a charge saw my 2.2 seconds just disappear into mirrors full of the dark green Stang on a mission.

Stand out moment without a doubt was coming in to the last chicane with Matt hot on my heels and getting the slightest hint of my right rear on the white line to send me properly sideways on the brakes - looks hilarious on the replay but I can't say I'm too keen to repeat the experience, the definition of a brown trouser moment I believe  Grin

That corner at the end of the long twisty first section was definitely an issue - whether it was bias or technique, Matt was gaining three car lengths maybe more there while I fishtailed away and it was eventually my downfall as I pointed left when I wanted to turn right! Didn't visit the barrier thankfully but nearly collected Ade who was third at the time with the rejoin (sorry bud!) - no rest for the wicked, he too then promptly started harrassing the hell out of me LOL.

Best man won for sure - great driving Matt, barely put a foot wrong and managed to combine some serious speed with decent tactics so really can't grumble and grats to Ade for a good drive for third spot.

Great to see Dyno back up there where he belongs, really sorry to see PR have to drop out - guessing that was a connection issue again. Tibs is clearly continuing to eat his Weetabix with times well below 2 mins in qually - you might not be able to hear him Tin, you were too far behind - try taking that foil out of your ears  Wink Shame your race came to an end with only a handful to go WT but appreciate the tips in the closing stages  Grin

A quick thank you to the backmarkers too - some really good driving going on - nobody was too quick to jump out of the way, just seemed to drive their race, hold their lines and hopefully as a result didn't get too compromised either so cheers chaps, much appreciated...

Intense stuff from flag to flag - well done organising types, so nice to keep trying these new tracks...this one's a keeper!  Grin

Only contentious moment tonight was when Team Prodigy disappeared off into their own TS room  no. Hope you'll be back next race chaps as it's more fun with everyone there.

Yes it's non-stop scandal in UKGTL  sleep1 We still love ya man  winkiss

Good race mostly. Had a rare good start, and had to lift for the bright green thing in front..
got tucked up behind a few on the drag down to T2, didn't want to be ramming anyone so
jinked left to get in clear air, cut up Tibs nastily, sorry 'bout that, there was nothing in side or rear view
tried to keep Dyno in sight, and LAzlow behind, worked for a while, but Laz was slowly catching
and when I made a muck of the 1st corner he swept through, hung on to his coat tails for some laps
then I managed a better run round the final turn, and just clipped his corner, waited of course
and we set off for more of the same chasing, managed a good run through the last turn, and
got a tow down the "straight" and when he ran wide into the tight right, I nipped up the inside
and stayed in front for a while, then I was late into the same turn - spun and let Laz AND Simon
through  cursing stayed that order then to the end. Great cat and mouse with Laz
Grats to podium. Was wondering what the car stuck in and then half under the track was
until Ade called "PR Lag" dang, you're not having much luck with this t'interweb thing.

Thats OK, I seemed to have lost the line there and at that sharp right hander.  I seem OK on the start/finish straight and thought you'd get by on the sweeps after that, where I was in control, but I screwed it.  Hope it didn't affect your result too much and you didn't wait for me - I was 2 laps behind at that stage.
