Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1732s

(VDA) King spins into the pit wall along the start/finish straight. He begins to rejoin just as Tibernius comes round the corner, who is just visible. (VDA) King spins round taking up most of the track width and Tibernius has no opportunity to avoid. Both retire.

Penalty is 1 place, not the maximum 3, since Tibernius had only just appeared as the rejoin began so may not have been seen in the heat of the moment, but (VDA) King's manouvre was quite wild and uncontrolled, leaving almost no track width clear for oncoming cars and so warrants a penalty.

Server replay time: 3617s

Ade is apporaching LigelC to lap him. Laurie appears to move to the middle of the track so Ade looks to pass round the outside into the corner. Entering the braking zone Laurie moves back out to the racing line on the outside and Ade, who is braking much later runs into the back of him losing several seconds and allowing the car behind to close right up.

Ade requests no penalty and the incident involves just a minor misjudgment by Laurie. Its a good opportunity to remind all drivers being lapped to try and hold their line with no sudden direction changes, and no sudden lifts on the throttle.

I'm a fair bit faster in the IROC as well.

IROC: 1:53.6-8s
Cobra 427: 1:55-1:57s (when I could stop it from spinning, over race distance I'd have no chance)
289 Coupe: 1:59s
Elan: 1:59s

I was shocked to be putting the IROC down there, expect it to be moved up a group (or two) people.

If Porsche 911s drive like that I can see why people buy them. Brilliant car. Cool

P.B. of 1:53.3 with Radial Tyres and 19 laps worth of fuel. Normally in the high 1:53s - Mid 1:54s.

I've updated my times. Older times will obviously be a bit slow now.

Ade, we need to agree on the way we test. I thought most were testing with some fuel but not full fuel, but you are using full. Can we agree on an amount? 5 gallons? 10 gallons?

I thought we were posting times with race fuel, so with 2x fuel use a full tank was the way to go.
Not enjoying the 2x tyre wear  Huh  on 6 after 4 laps in the Cobra 427 Shocked.
The guys at the GTL Workshop have done loads of work on tyre modelling and manuals then Legzy comes along with his grubby little fingers and presses a few buttons and I'm driving on jelly Grin Wink Personally i think with us all getting  to grips with  a new sim we don't need anything to make it any harder (can cope with the fuel at 2x) but don't like it, its supposed to be a simulation after all.

As for the amount of fuel to use for times i find some of the cars in this and other sims i can get faster times with more fuel in than running on fumes for a qualifying lap, like the TR4 i took at lime rock, i could hustle it round better  with more juice in it.
Haven't really had time to check other cars in P&G to see what cars like the extra weight (I'm sure some do).

LOL - Funniest post of the day!!! (Althouth I also enjoyed Tony's tale of woe, about "the AI taking over at the end of the race so he wasn't able to pile into Legzy!" laugh)

ah - see where you are coming from now. All my laps up to now have been with about 10 laps fuel, not full, and I got the impression others were doing the same. The 2x thing does rather confuse matters doesn't it?

Just done 4 laps in the GT40 MKII  Shocked tyres are on fire after one lap and at 6.5 wear on the front right and not much better at the rear right 6.3 , not that fast in it either 1:53.8 (cant do any more laps in it at the moment coz I'm P,ing on the tyres) don't think it will be possible to do more than 4 laps in a row and get a quicker time when the tyres get  in such a state, can someone else give it a go and see what you think.

                                                                  Cheers Ade

crapola, i hadnt even noticed the 2x wear on fuel and tyres  Shocked  Sad

hmm thats gonna be interesting as i doubt any of us have ever run these cars longer than 40mins and at normal wear rates. Undecided
It will certainly have an impact on lap times as guess most of us will have to run Hard compound tyres to cope with the wear.

As for testing and posting lap times, i have generally always used the 10laps worth of fuel as others had posted.

Aww man, you taking my beloved IROC away from me again?  Angry

I've turned with all cars of each group. These times are done with 100 litres or with full tank for the Elan and the 914, that got a smaller tank... Approximately 10 laps for each one:

The IROC seems totally out of place in group C - it is quicker than either car in group B. The 427 is horrible again and needs a good driver to get the best from, so I can't see anyone in group B making it work (even if you ignore the fact that it is a painful car to drive).

Totally agree with you Paul! IROC seems faster of any group B cars, and the 427 is for expert drivers... Group C or D seems most appropriate. I suggest to consider a swap between 427 and IROC Smiley... About the group D cars I think that only the L88 and the Lotus Elan can reach a pace pace near the 1.51.5-52.0, and the two Cobras 289 seem to be cut out of the fight.
I hope to be helpful, as ever Smiley! Cu Smiley
