Please recommend some alternatives? Maybe the Shelby GT350 CASC / Corvette L72 Coupe / Ford Falcon Weslake Heads?

Manteos, something you need to understand is that you can't really take each race in isolation, or just look at driver groups without considering the cars that people took. Drivers who take cars from their group that are perhaps less competitive, will be given a bit of leeway before they are promoted, especially when they are not near the top of the results list (Ade is a good example of this). On the other hand, those who take very quick cars (sometimes a bit too quick) will get promoted at the first sniff of a good result. The other thing to bear in mind is that this is first and foremost a fun league. we are trying very hard to balance things out, but there are bound to be anomolies, so the advice is - just enjoy the excellent racing and don't take the result too seriously. For the same reason, it is very important that drivers put fairness and gentlemanly conduct ahead of their desire to win - something that wasn't always that obvious from the evidence of the last race.

Having been put in Group D now! :'( I am slow in everything! Havn't tried the Elan yet but if it gives me a hope of getting under my current PB of 1.56 then I'll take it!

although it is also a fun league as you put it, i wouldnt write off the desire to win or do well in most of us, after all that is the spirit of racing With regards to car choice, i tend to choose the car that i most enjoying driving, or means the most to me in the world of classic race cars, in my group, after trying each of them. This superb mod has brought alive cars that i found just a complete unweilding dog in GTL. Unfortunately, you still see patterns emerging of groups of people trying to take race winning cars in the shape of the Elan or Alfa, but each to their own. All the grids so far have been nicely diverse and makes it a real spectacle on track Anyone got a setup for that 427 Cobra? I doubt i'll take it as it seems almost impossible around here, but i like to give it a try. On first impressions i would say it would needs to be driven by an alien around here to get the best out of it, so may be wasted on us group C mortals

I'd made my choice, if Cobras are the supposed slower cars in group D, that is what I will drive then....

Absolutely old boy one wouldnt want to be perceived as a bounder or a cad, would one ? i think the racing has been pretty fair so far (touch wood) not had anyone make overtly aggressive moves on me even if i could tell i might be holding them up in a certain car/corner. A few made comments after lime rock about dodgy driving and i assume those culprits have been given a verbal ear bashing by the supreme court of moderators?

Gave the F275 speciale a decent run out last night using the 2x factors. Appear to be in the 1:52's with full race fuel and meds (yellow spots).
I need to check the 914 again as i had such varying laptimes dependant on track temperature.

Guys i tried 4 cars in the order all with full tank... that's the result: Shelby GT350 CASC: 1.57.0 (Tyres Eater) Corvette L72: 1.56.5 Ford Falcon Weslake: I gave up after the first lap... it's not a car in my opinion... is a coffin Alfa Volumetrico: 1.55.4 Seems that all these cars are really out of pace... Than... in group D 2 choices remained: Lotus Elan Corvette L88 The 2 Cobras are in pants as Paul said. Cutting the Elan, i think that apart from Paul and Ayrton that would probably have a pace near 1.52-1.53 low with the L88... I was pretty near more at a race pace of 1.53 high- 1.54. in race conditions... that is not a pace to fight with each other. Than... you have some others suggestion about some other group D cars that could substitute the Elan or we can consider it a Group D car for the race without any changes?!? I wait for an answer, and for your considerations... I hope without humor this time . Cu!
