Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1732s

(VDA) King spins into the pit wall along the start/finish straight. He begins to rejoin just as Tibernius comes round the corner, who is just visible. (VDA) King spins round taking up most of the track width and Tibernius has no opportunity to avoid. Both retire.

Penalty is 1 place, not the maximum 3, since Tibernius had only just appeared as the rejoin began so may not have been seen in the heat of the moment, but (VDA) King's manouvre was quite wild and uncontrolled, leaving almost no track width clear for oncoming cars and so warrants a penalty.

Server replay time: 3617s

Ade is apporaching LigelC to lap him. Laurie appears to move to the middle of the track so Ade looks to pass round the outside into the corner. Entering the braking zone Laurie moves back out to the racing line on the outside and Ade, who is braking much later runs into the back of him losing several seconds and allowing the car behind to close right up.

Ade requests no penalty and the incident involves just a minor misjudgment by Laurie. Its a good opportunity to remind all drivers being lapped to try and hold their line with no sudden direction changes, and no sudden lifts on the throttle.

Server: [PnG2.1] UKPnG S1 Interlagos
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here, 2.1 patch from here and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) Remember that P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function, but our gentleman's agreement is that everyone will stick to a speed limit for the pit-lane of 40mph/60kph.

IMPORTANT
UKPnG Season One will continue to use our 'clubmans' approach, the idea that the faster drivers are in the slower cars, as hopefully it should encourage more close racing.

The cars chosen can be divided into 4 chassis groups:

A
Porsche 906-6, Porsche 906-Langcheck, Porsche 906-E, GT40 MK2 (Please remember these cars choices are still subject to change slightly)

B
Cobra 427, Porsche 914, GT40 MK2, Porsche 911 IROC

C
Porsche 911 IROC, F275 Speciales, Cobra 427, Porsche 914

D
Corvette L88 Coupe, Shelby Cobra 289 Coupe, Shelby Cobra 289 Roadster, Lotus Elan, Cobra 427

Our "regulars" can be, very roughly divided into Four groups. (If you're name's not listed below & you'd like to race with us, please say Hi on this thread & give us an idea of your pace Smiley

GROUP 1 can only choose from slowest chassis group D
Dan Minton, Madd, Paul 968, Ginsters, PR, Steve Holmes, Jos Verstappen, TrueTom, Jose Arrogantio, Ayrton4_94, Manteos, Pippomax, Blunder, API, IvAlAx.

GROUP 2  can choose between chassis C and D.
Ade, Oily, [Poodle]Keith, FMG, Watty, phspok, MJ, Mike Cook, Lazlow, Legzy, Pepz, Tim Robey, SamB, Psuedo, icarus17, KING.

GROUP 3 can choose between chassis B, C and D.
DaveShep, Spanner, Tinman, Geoffers, Ross, Phil Gilliland, Tibernius, Picnic, 57Goldtop, Lars Sch, Mcfids.

GROUP 4 can choose between chassis A, B, C and D.
PaulWBird, Alex vV, Wiltshire Tony, LigelC, Sandor Mooijekind, Lorenzo Galluzzi, Bill Thomas, Oilseal, Jimmer.

Hope you all enjoy.

Legz, the TPG league used to use the daylight accel settings on their online servers so it should be possible?. (though i think that was GTL/GT1 days) Sadly i dont know the answer though. I remember many a great looking race using it, which is why i never understood us not using it here, especially for enduros  Undecided. Maybe post on No-grip or RSC for the answer ?

Superb track and car choices again mate !  thumbup1

edit: hmm, few posts ive found online state that the daylight settings cant be set on the dedi server, only on local machines  Huh

Yeah, I've done a lot of browsing on that subject and I too have only ever found that it's a "home alone" experience.

I'm short on time currently, so any help appreciated. Would it be something then, that is set in your PLR file, when driving offline?

In P&G Daylight Acceleration settings can be found under the Realism tab. This is the same as for GTL.

However P&G differs in the fact that if you select Internet and log in, at the lobby screen you still have a realism tab available and hence Daylight Acceleration. Does this therefore mean that if all players set their daylight acceleration to the same value all muliplayers will race with the same visuals?

I'll ask the question over at P&G Forum

This is a superb track. Another very detailed great track mod.  Cool

1:50.329 in the IROC. The car feels great here, what a sensation when you get it right through the Senna esses. thumbup1

Consider the gauntlet laid  Grin

Did 25 laps in it, most laps in the 51's but a good few in the 50's too. 8 Laps fuel onboard.

Will try the Fezza 275 next:- 14 laps done,

1:52.8 in the F275 Spezial. Loads of power but not great brakes ! and no ducting to keep them cool either. Good fun sliding it around here and no doubt a Fezza specialist will get more speed out of it than my first attempt in one, as i havent driven it before.

Feel free everyone to start posting your laptimes & telling me I've got the cars in the wrong groups  Wink Grin
Once again, the sooner I get your laptimes, the sooner I can adjust the groups if required.

For someone who's injured their hand MJ you seem to be doing alot of driving!

not really, i do a quick 20-30 min spell then stay away from racing for many hours. Hand is much better now anyway, just my wrist in rotation and the tendons in my forearm give me grief and cant squeeze or pull anything yet...ooer. Tongue  Races are still a problem as after lap 10 it all gets a bit painful..and i dont mean my driving  Wink Not sure i could do an endurance race length yet, though i am hoping to find out sunday eve if poss.
In true bloke style i am using my injury to get out of any possible household chores and milking it to the max  Grin

yes some more laptimes would be useful for comparison. I am surprised Paul hasnt breezed in and battered my laptime yet !
Its such a great track and these old cars feel superb on it. Cool

You rang? I'd hate to disappoint you Tongue

IROC          1.48.7
914            1.49.0
427            1.50.7
906            1.46.6
Elan            1.51.0 (updated)
289 coupe    1.54.3 (very few laps and not the willment (+50hp) one).
289 roadster  1.53.6
L88 coupe (fast one) 1.51.5
Fezza 275 S   1.50.5
GT40 mk2      1.49.7 (better than I thought, although right side tyre wear is pretty bad)

The IROC seems totally out of place in group C - it is quicker than either car in group B. The 427 is horrible again and needs a good driver to get the best from, so I can't see anyone in group B making it work (even if you ignore the fact that it is a painful car to drive).

Blinking hell Paul, i dont know how you do it  Huh Great time in the IROC  I Am Not Worthy

I bust my butt to get a time as semi decent as that and then you blitz it by a further 2 seconds  Shocked  Embarrassed Even the AI at 115% in game could only manage a 1:49.5...and that was with Mark Donohue driving  Wink

Remember though please, powers that be, that what times Paul (or other aliens) can get out of some of these cars does not reflect what us mortals can get out of it so dont be too hasty to say its too fast for a certain group until the drivers of that particular group also report fast times in it. I think thats the mistake been made in some of the races so far, where cars have been moved out of reach of drivers abilities.
