Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1732s

(VDA) King spins into the pit wall along the start/finish straight. He begins to rejoin just as Tibernius comes round the corner, who is just visible. (VDA) King spins round taking up most of the track width and Tibernius has no opportunity to avoid. Both retire.

Penalty is 1 place, not the maximum 3, since Tibernius had only just appeared as the rejoin began so may not have been seen in the heat of the moment, but (VDA) King's manouvre was quite wild and uncontrolled, leaving almost no track width clear for oncoming cars and so warrants a penalty.

Server replay time: 3617s

Ade is apporaching LigelC to lap him. Laurie appears to move to the middle of the track so Ade looks to pass round the outside into the corner. Entering the braking zone Laurie moves back out to the racing line on the outside and Ade, who is braking much later runs into the back of him losing several seconds and allowing the car behind to close right up.

Ade requests no penalty and the incident involves just a minor misjudgment by Laurie. Its a good opportunity to remind all drivers being lapped to try and hold their line with no sudden direction changes, and no sudden lifts on the throttle.

I've just updated them.

Here are the changes made:
Porsche 906-E = Removed from available list.
GT40 MK2 = Now considered a slower car (so is obviously still available to the 'Group-4' drivers).
Porsche 911 IROC = Now considered a faster car.
Cobra 427 = Now considered a slower car.
Porsche 914 = Now considered a slower car.

p.s. The Elan is looking possibly to fast for Group D (especially when you take into account tyre/fuel consumption), if anybody has any thoughts on that please fire away or even a suggestion of a car that could replace it in that group? Undecided

Hi Legzy! Yesterday we had a training race in 8-9 peoples of 1h and x2 fuel & tyre consumption.
I was with the Elan, but i had to fight a lot with the 2 Porsche 914 to win the race, and i had a worst best lap in race, even if I was a lot more trained than the 2 drivers in Porsche 914, that were 2 newbies of P&G...
My idea is that if a driver like Ade or Mark Jonzo, will take a car like the 914, would make a race pace probably near 1.50.5 at worst... mine pace with Elan yesterday was near a 1.51.6 (pushing hardly), very close with 2 less expert drivers, but is not comparable with mine 1.50.5 done with 80 litres on the Porsche 914, after only 9 laps... With the Elan I've done more than 120 laps.... just to tell you Smiley
Anyway two days ago i had a friendly speech with Ade, and he knows that i consider him a group D driver, because he's surely strong as me. I wait some lap times made by him, in race conditions to have an idea if I'm making wrong consideration about these 2 cars... for me Elan should remain in group D, and the 2 Cobras 289 seems really unnecessary in that group in my opinion... Maybe should be better put the Cobra 427 in group D to give it a chance of race, because it seems really a difficult car to drive...
Regarding the tyres consumption is true that the Elan is slightly better than a 914, but if you put harder tyres, as needed to finish the race in good conditions, pace would be probably higher, and it's an hard decision to take for the strategy. Yesterday with the White spot on rear i was not able to finish the race, and I had to change it after 20 laps during my pit...
Anyway the moral of this story is that if you cut the elan by group D i see no chances for people like me, Pippo and IvAlAx to fight against group C drivers like Ade, MJ, samb, and the others i forget.
I hope I have been clear in explaining. I wait for your opinions Smiley Cu!

LOL...is there some conspiracy going around, to keep me out of my beloved Porsches ?  Cheesy My sponsors won't be happy  Wink

will run some laps in the 914 later on and let you know my times. The P&G 914's are great fun by the way, in case any of you havent tried them. Real grunty little race cars  Cool

No Mark! Nobody wants to make angry your sponsor Smiley! But 2 days ago Ade with the 275 speciale was just nearer to a pace of 1.51.0 with a full Tank and he was faster than me about 2-3 tenth for lap, with less fuel in the same car! As i said before, he is a group D driver in my opinion, and if he takes a car like 914 or a 275 he becomes unbeatable by a Lotus Elan, for me, Pippomox and especially for IvAlAx that yesterday was pretty out of my race pace yet... If all of us should have the chances to compete for the first position, i think that something in drivers groupings should be changed looking at the few times i saw in this post.
I wait especially Ade's opinion, because if I'm not crazy and if I understood everything he said to me 2 days ago, he was in agreement with me. That's it Smiley! Wait for others suggestions! Cu Smiley

In my defence your honour Wink I don't jump into the fastest car in my group looking for an easy win (after one and a half years of sim racing I've only had 2 outright wins, so I'm certainly no alien)I take a car i enjoy driving , i took the TR4 out last time  (group 'D').
I'm sure i would be too fast in the 914 so i wouldn't be taking it (ill still give it a little go later on though) Grin
If the powers that be think i should be in group 'D' then that's fine with me.

                                                          Cheers Ade

we believe you, ya ringer !  Wink  Cheesy

Just tried the 914 out. Need a second opinion from other mortals. I could only manage a 1:51.850 after pounding around for about 20-30 laps online, and even then i think only because the track temps reached 47 degrees!  Shocked which got some heat into the medium compound tyres. That was with full fuel too. Before the temperature rose i was only managing regular 1:53s and 1:54s which then became 51's and 52s in the heat.

Anyone tried the 427? its a complete death trap here, i could barely keep it pointing the right way and it fell off at every opportunity.  Embarrassed

Ade = As i said before, he is a group D driver in my opinion,
Manteos, as I've said before... let me worry about people being in the right or wrong group... you can then concentrate on enjoying your driving  Smiley

I'm on the server at the moment & there are four Group-D drivers all in Elan's. If that's not enough to tell me the car needs promoting then what is?  Undecided
Can you fast chaps possibly spin a few laps in the E-Type Lightweight / F275 / Alfa Volumetrico to see where they fit pace wise please?
