Well this was a bit deja vu following the Historic race last week. This time however I couldn't relax until I was sure I had maintained track position over Hristo after my second stop. As I exited the pits I think my Prib display was showing about 5 secs and I wasn't sure if I'd get to Curve Grande first. As it turned out I made it and I don't think I even caught a glimpse of Hristo in my mirrors!!

I could relax a bit then and save the engine even more. It had been running over 200deg for most of the race and I had already been short shifting in to top early to try to save it. Also I'd lengthened top after qually to make it a bit of an overdrive anyway, I was so nervous of the Lotus fragility.

It's a shame I missed the start of the season due to my PC failure so roll on S18!!

Thanks again to all the modders and admin for making it all possible.

PS I'm quite happy with 9.00pm starts. Anything earlier can sometimes interfere with domestic goings on. Smiley

It's UK(GPL) after all, so I suppose it makes sense for the start time to suit UKers best.

Pleased with qually and got a reasonable start but had to drive hard to keep the champ behind.  All in vain though, I got distracted by a yellow flag on the entry to parabolica on lap 1 and slid off into the gravel and Tim was through.  Lost few few places but enjoyed the fight back up through the field until I clipped the grass on the exit of Lesmo 2.  Ended up spinning and got collected by James.  Race over for me but thankfully James could continue, sorry M8.

The mods have started prep for season 18 which is likely to start on the 6th September to coincide with GBGPL's next season (so we can run the collaboration with the 69 series again).  This should also ensure we have enough time to get the interleague program agreed.  Keep checking for posts over the summer and make sure you vote in any polls the mods set up (for example what time you want the races to start - times are traditionally chosen to suite UK based drivers but there is room for flexibility).  There are plenty of off season races planned so you can keep your skills honed, looking forward to racing with you all in season 18.

Well it's 5 days past but I thought I'd add my comments.  My race was miserable but I'm just reeeal happy I didn't take out Evil Clive when I locked up my brakes going into the Parabolica on lap... uh like 3!  He and I had a little see-saw battle going and it looked like it might be a fun race.  But trailing Clive at my fateful corner I braked early (but not real hard) so as not to be to aggressive early in the race.  But just as the gap closed up under braking it looked like Clive jinked a little in my direction and I totally flinched, mashing the brake pedal just hard enough to lock 'em up.  I slid across his bow and I think we touched but he motored on without losing control.  I skidded into the hedge row and got hopelessly sucked in.  I think his jink was just unstableness under hard braking and not intentional.  But I was so keen not to take anybody out in only my second race that I over reacted and almost did just that.

Thanks for taking me in and I'm looking forward to doing a full season with you  guys soon.

P.S.  For the life of me I can't seem to find the server replay of the race.  Someone link me?

Late, late, very late indeed...  Sry, fellas.

Grats to Ken for a fine win in a stellar drive.  Good show.

Big H a typical...ie, blisteringly fast...run to P2 in the Red Ball Special.

Great job by Fulvio to roar into P3 in the Coopie.  Not a primo ride at Monza at the best of times.

A decent run for me with only one real gaffe.  A spin at Lesmo2 got me trouble with my minimal steering lock not helping get righted any time soon.  Luckily, it was late in the going and I had lots of free track before Ken arrived.

I see by our Championship table for D1 that Tim has pipped Hristo for the title.  Grats, TM!  And excellent job to you, 2, H.  P3 in the title run goes to Sam who did a fine job in the BRM.  Two victories.  Splendid stuff there, SB.  I managed a close P4 but rue the day that I shorted myself a gallon of fuel at LMC and had to soft-pedal it home over the last lap and a half.  Dropped from P2 to P4 in that go and there's the difference in the final standings.

C'est la guerre.   Grin

Looking forward to Season 18!

PS: Guess there's not much chance of it running in iGOR, is there?  OK.  I'll just have to suffer the VROC steering glitch once again.  Sigh...
