According to my calculations, with the 2 worst results dropped the championship is not decided yet.

The web site has already taken 1 dropped score into consideration, they are the greyed out results (6 points for Tim at Mosport and 5 points for you at Snetterton).  So that means even if you win and Tim fails to score you can only increase your points total by 44 (50 minus the 6 for the Nurby or Jarama rounds) so you would end up with 279 against Tim's 280.  The Mosport and Silverstone rounds are not modded but since Mosport is already Tim's worst score, he would have to be penalized and loose points for an incident at Silverstone for him not to have won the title.  As far as I know Tim had a clean race at Silverstone.

Will be missing this one again. Shame, as I like Monza. Wouldn't have a hope in a frozen hell at victory though, the way I'm driving! Grin

OK, I wasn't aware that the total points reflect the dropped results. Thanks, Phil, and congrats to Tim, a worthy D1 and Waza Champion !!!  Grin

And don't forget - ALL YOUR VICTORIES ARE BELONG TO HER!!!  Shocked

Eek! What a disaster. Qualified 7th, made a good start and proceeded to close up on Tim only to lock the brakes and nearly crash into him. Then to top things off, my lead foot gets the better of me and slide into Jim! Loot was certainly not impressed and who could blame him.

Ah well, apologies to Jim and many thanks to the mods for running Season 17. Congrats to Tim for the driver's title and to the Wazas for the team's title.

ah well...

tried a new setup from SAMB and it worked pretty well as I lined up in  P9 with a PB and it was a tight group.

was running well in P6, when SAMB spun and I collected him and sent him into orbit. I carried on OK but later on Phil spun on acceleration out of the second lesbo and I sent him up to the moon as well  Shocked. Re-watching the replay I picked a side of the track to try to avoid the spinning Phil, perhaps I should have slammed on the brakes as well but it happened pretty quick.

The tough old BRM soldiered on and things looked OK, but then she let go on the main straight, I had to spin it around and rev the old girl up a bit, so thats what did it then.  Sad Shame as I reckon a P5 might have been on the cards but no hard feelings, its been a fun season the highlight of which was my battle with the superior driver Evil Clive at Jarama. Shame he had a disco there because it would have been tight. Loosing P2 on the last lap at Canada is a lowlight. Good racing guys  Wink

Spun away da best practise laps  but plugged on and managed a 1 28 xx good enough for P3 but then was bumped in the last minutes to P4

Race start was good and H let me through into P3 as his Wassa, wassa heavy and a slowa outa da corners (as they say in italy)

Lap 3 and the dreaded crampa struckame left hand so wassa trying hard to keep onna da blacka stuff witha da one a hand which maka me spin into a da isa creama van and looza da more places .

Then mama mia I make a da good piella a stoppa and blowa da engine sky high when i am a try to leave a da pits withouta pay the man .

better luck next a time

Well done to whoever finished in a one a pizza and the guy what won da race  Smiley

Ken was just unbeatable today, he drove without any mistakes and I had no answer to that as I made too many on my own, plus the requirement to save engine which lost me a good half a second a lap. The start was interesting as Bernie and Jethro passed me by, then I had to try very hard to put any pressure on Bernie.

It was just looking like we would have a battle when he had a spin in Lesmo 2, but luckily I managed to avoid him. Started closing in slightly on Jethro who was some 4 seconds ahead at that point, but I think his mind just wasn't in the race. I noticed him using the pitlane at full speed (lol) while he was ahead of Bernie, then he had a very strange wobble on the straight before T1, then he went off into Parabolica by braking way too late.

I was up to 2nd just to get depressed by seeing the gap to Ken has grown up to 20 seconds! I wasn't sure what his pitstop times were, but with my 11 seconds stop I thought it was all over. I tried to go as fast as I dared without overheating the engine though, but instead my rear left overheated too much and the handling became a lottery.

Even without the few offs I don't think I could challenge Ken though. Perhaps come near him after his 2nd stop, but he was more than a second a lap faster so he would've shaken me out with ease.

Anyway, grats to Ken for a well deserved win and to Tim again for the Drivers Championship! And of course, grats to Wazas for the domination in the Teams Championship!!! There's no stopping what can't be stopped. Grin

The cunning plan was this. Take the Cooper and by driving a steady race take advantage of others' mishaps and lengthy stops to achieve a respectable mid table finish.  smartass All came to nought when the engine blew after a couple of laps Shocked

Congrats to the winners and champions  :notworthy:and on to the next season

I f**ked it. Twice. At Parabolica. 'nuff said.

OK, maybe not quite.

Hristo's right, my mind wasn't totally on it. Not helped by dodgy speakers, pedals moving further and further backwards, and the hi-res version of Monza being just a bit frameskippy. Cup of tea helped though!

To qualify 3rd was impressive, especially with a Senna-esque last charge last lap in qualifying. I think I crossed the line with about 10 seconds or so left on the clock and just went for it, tyres warmed up, braking points sussed (well, except Lesmo), and it got me a high 1:28 for the 2nd row. Merci to the GH2 setup master! Smiley

Got a great start, breezed past a seemingly stationary Hristo into T1, tried vainly to go after Ken but it wasn't having any of it. He was in a class of his own, and after a few laps when I planned to go into the pits, I misjudged the braking at Parabolica and slid off. The car was still good, but it put me down the order since I had to struggle outta the kitty litter.

2nd time I misjudged braking at Parabolica it did so much damage to the engine it felt like a 65 car. I didn't realise how bad until after the 2nd pitstop. At that point, after a few laps more with struggling the car and doing 1:34s+ I'd had enough of going down the order and crashed it. I was enjoying it, until the car didn't feel like a Lotus 49 any more.

Not the best conditions to do a race. I will be working on getting my own ADSL connection for home, as I need it for the times I do races.

Congrats to Tim for the season, you just had the consistency needed. Shame I couldn't finish more races, I enjoyed the Lotus. I had the worst luck possible at Nurburgring though, 2 corners and the engine blew...... won't mention Albi despite being one of my best finishes. Congrats to the modders, we sure kept you busy at times! Grin

As an aside, I would very much appreciate it, and I'm sure European racers would, if races were run at 8pm instead of 9pm. Especially the longer races like Amateurs and Interleague.
