Alex should have made allowance for Spanners line at the chicane apex and braked accordingly.
Alex did wait for Spanner to re-pass him after the incident and Spanner has stated that he wants no penalty imposed hence

Yeah, when I know Oily is behind me... I know I can slow down without worrying too Grin

I think you're disoriented from all the spinning you were doing Legz Wink

PR gave me the key to the castle, setup, replay, the works. Two hours of practice and study and still only within 3 seconds. Take my hat off bud, it's a phenomenon how you make that thing so quick.

Massive congrats to Mr. Lazlow - to win the championship of super long races you REALLY have to earn it so well done mate....or is it "Sir Jim" now!?  Grin Enjoy it but don't be thinking you'll be having that team championship too, we've already sent the silverware down to the key cutters to be engraved Wink

As for the race, after practising with the Beemer and getting nowhere fast I was really struggling to decide on a motor. It took a while for the penny to drop but eventually I put the fact that Monza was a speed circuit, together with the fact that the Vette is seriously fast in a straight line and decided that would be the place to focus the time I had left to practice.

Ade had been quick in practice too, in fact low 2:03's if I remember rightly so I was expecting trouble from him and it came in the form of him sticking it on the front row in qually. Luckily those practice starts paid off and I just managed to eek in front of him by T1. I decided I'd let PR have this one bless him (honest guv  Grin) so let him drive off into the distance.

Split the stints evenly, I assumed tyre wear would be harsher in the first stint as I tried to push in the opening laps so changed at the first and then made the decision to take it really easy so as not to need to change at the second. For once I actually made a nice pit entry, was quite well organised with my fuel notes etc but it's a shame the same couldn't be said for my workshy mechanics. Lost a total of 30 seconds while my pit crew pretended they couldn't see me in the hope I'd go away. Eventually after many attempts the clipboard appeared and I was back in business and out on track without having lost my slot.

Final 10 laps were interesting, the rears were up to 33 on the wear scale by the end and I was extremely happy to see the flag with API (grats dude!) and Ade looming not far behind and the Vette fishtailing all over the place.

Lappees were brilliant, really predictable and just holding their lines so thanks chaps.

Great effort by the green ones with Dyno in 6th  and everyone else bring it home in one piece over what felt like quite a long one I must admit!

For some reason it's put me in 11th when I actually finished 9th.  Huh
I know I got DQed after the race when the car flipped over the railings and fell through the track, I was trying to avoid the stationary cars on the straight and failed. Undecided
Yup, I just checked the replay & can confirm that you finished 9th (looks like you had a good close finish with Geoffers too).
I'll try to remember/work out how to restate you to your correct finishing position  blink.

EDIT - It was easier then I remembered, now corrected.

p.s. Forgot to mention my rather impressive laptime, that has earned me my 1st ever GTL lap record Cool

Grats Legzy for the lap record!  Grin
Thanks Dyno. Needless to say the competition was tough (no other GTC65 drivers Wink) & I'll be making sure it's preserved for ever by never doing another event involving GTC65's at Monza Tongue

Would appreciate it if Dynosaur and/or Phil Gilliland would post their 911 setups in the SROU online file

Can't seem to find that folder Laurie, but if you go to the Monza folder you will find "911 - Phil Gill" in there.

Got it thanks Phil, looks like I had 5th set a click higher than you.  Will try it out over the weekend.

After a disasterous effort on tuesday night i was ready to sack it all in, hated the cars hated the track. Coming back on thursday i could just about get the beemer around reasonably well then got surprised by the 2x tyre and fuel and realised it was going to be tough.

Dont worry about the start Alex but thanks anyway, dont think i really dropped back from it. I managed to climb up to You and Phil and Legzy but with Legzy nudging Phil it delayed me as well and never managed to get back up to you guys. Also had Burtoner try and move into Lesmo 2 which didnt work and delayed both of us.  From then on it was a bit of a lonely race as far as i remember.

Congrats to PR on a rather dominant victory and to Oily for second place, seems i getting too slow for this team! But does leave it nicely poised for the final round especially with our joker card, PR!
