Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 289s

[VDA]icarus17 (icarus17) Goes wide on a long corner and ends up off track to a small degree. He rejoins immediately, but unfortunately Legzy, who is following, makes contact with icarus17. Legzy was committed to the corner and could not have avoided the contact. [VDA]icarus17 does not rejoin dangerously and could not have know that Legzy was closing so quickly. The contact is only slight but icarus is very unfortunate and comes off quite badly. Legzy shows a high level of sportsmanship and waits for icarus.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 505s

Matt_Rowe (phspok) is stopped on the track and facing the wrong way after loosing control. Several cars have to take avoiding action as they approach Matt_Rowe. The approaching drivers have little room to make the avoidance and little time to react due to the track layout at the scene. Paul968 can not see the car of Matt as he is very close behind another driver. As the car in front of Paul968 avoids Matt, Paul968 can suddenly see Matt and tries to slow but does not have enough time to avoid hitting Matt. As Paul968 flys across the path of the next two cars of Legzy and Lazlow, they both take avoiding action and get out of shape at the same time. (VDA) lele (lelero) fast approaches Legzy and Lazlow as they are out of shape and has to avoid them. Most unfortunately he hits both of them causing both Legzy and Lazlow to spin off the track. (VDA) lele could have used more caution in approaching the scene as he would have been able to see several cars in the middle of an incident. However, it did appear that he had space as he approached and that space disappeared at the last moment. This incident was a big one that involved many cars in a short space of time and it would have been difficult for any of the drivers involved to avoid contact. Therefore only advice for (VDA) lele will be issued for lack of caution when approaching the scene of an accident.

Server replay time: 1937s

Legzy and (VDA) lele approach the turn in for a corner just about side by side. Legzy has the inside line and gets his car just ahead of the car of lele before braking. Legzy goes wide and makes slight contact with lele. Legzys rear just clips leles front end. This does not cause lele much trouble but, lele losses control accelerating from the scene. Legzy was in front on turn in and would have made the corner without the contact and lele had given Legzy racing room. Therefore this is a racing incident. I would like to point out that Legzy once again showed a high level of sportsmanship by waiting for lele and loosing many places while doing so. This is despite the fact that lele did not wait for Legzy after a racing incident early in the same race. Although that is not an offence, please remember that the use of high level sportsmanship adds to the fun of the races.

Guys, as I told you before, my 26.7 it's pretty near to my time limit, done with a qualy setup. In race setup I'm on a pace of 28.0-28.5... don't worry cause i think that some of you will be near to that race pace with a 906 or a 911 RSR.
About the time trial you should see some VDA more often during these days, because we have our server offline for the next 10-15 days, then if you see Ayrton or Pippomox turning around the track with a 911 IROC, i can assure you that they are 2 great masters of RoadAtlanta.
Today is my Birthday Smiley and like yesterday evening I think I'm gonna spend my night with some friends to celebrate it.
If you want to have a TT with me I will be able to drive again on Saturday & Sunday, when the drunkenness will leave my brain Smiley!!!
Hope to see someone of you tomorrow evening for a train together, i will try to show some lines to down the time, but the most important thing remains the gear, and the use of manual clutch.
P.S. Ade, I don't see any time done by you... what's up? Are you on vacation? I'm really scared about this Smiley. Hope to see you soon.
Bye all Smiley

I think you misunderstand Manteos. A TT (timetrial) is a saved lap which can be loaded in timetrial mode and driven against. If you don't have one then a hotlap replay would be interesting to look at.

I've done an Hot Lap of 27.3 into your server in qualif session, because i dislike to turn with the Ghost car near me... As i said to Legzy, I'm not able to upload it in the forum... If someone of you have some suggestion, I will post it soon! I reached even a 27.6 in TT, but seems less grippy than the qualif 1 session... If you want i can post even that lap...
Cu Smiley!

Finally i understand how to use the TT... I uploaded a 1.27.559... Hope it would be useful Smiley

Manteos...where have you uploaded it too? I am fascinated to see where you gain so much time, as i am sure many are here. Though a replay file would be just as useful to glean any tips. angel

Looking forward to chasing your rabbit  Smiley

I am refusing beer this eve so may be around later for some online shenanigans if anyone else is? T'was good fun last friday on the server. Though i had two pints already  Wink

In TT mode you find my hot lap if you clic on "LAP ONLINE". You will see some laps done by some people, and at the bottom you will find my lap ([VDA] Manteos 1.27.559). I think that you have to click on upload, and then go for your TT against my ghost car... Take a look of which gear i use in every corner, as I said yesterday I avoid to change gear so much time because is a waste of precious time...
I hope it will be useful! CU Smiley

Best I could get down to in TT mode was (spookily enough) 1.27.6. What a handful it is though - racing the bugger is going to be interesting to say the least! Shocked

ah you finally pipped my RSR time from last friday then Legzy  Wink  means i'll have to jump back in it and up the ante  Kiss

Only joined the server quite late last night and just couldnt get into it after spending all eve flying online in the Rise of flight sim with the Legends boys. Was trying to re-adjust my brain to using the shorter gear ratios in the IROC as that seems to be what the now fastest guys are using, whereas my fastest times had been set with the longer final ratio so far. But it had been niggling at me that anyone using a shorter shift in the race would get by me everytime even if i could do regular 1:30s. Problem is now ive dropped into the 31's using that shorter shift  Roll Eyes
Not had a chance to chase Manteos' rabbit yet so that may yield some pointers.

The 914 or 906 may be a good bet for anyone struggling with the 911's unique handling. It does take a lot of patience if your not used to driving it. Paul managed a 1:28 in the 914 so it is competitive.

Low 29's in the IROC, took me ages just to get used to the car tbh, not a favourite I must admit  Undecided
