Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 289s

[VDA]icarus17 (icarus17) Goes wide on a long corner and ends up off track to a small degree. He rejoins immediately, but unfortunately Legzy, who is following, makes contact with icarus17. Legzy was committed to the corner and could not have avoided the contact. [VDA]icarus17 does not rejoin dangerously and could not have know that Legzy was closing so quickly. The contact is only slight but icarus is very unfortunate and comes off quite badly. Legzy shows a high level of sportsmanship and waits for icarus.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 505s

Matt_Rowe (phspok) is stopped on the track and facing the wrong way after loosing control. Several cars have to take avoiding action as they approach Matt_Rowe. The approaching drivers have little room to make the avoidance and little time to react due to the track layout at the scene. Paul968 can not see the car of Matt as he is very close behind another driver. As the car in front of Paul968 avoids Matt, Paul968 can suddenly see Matt and tries to slow but does not have enough time to avoid hitting Matt. As Paul968 flys across the path of the next two cars of Legzy and Lazlow, they both take avoiding action and get out of shape at the same time. (VDA) lele (lelero) fast approaches Legzy and Lazlow as they are out of shape and has to avoid them. Most unfortunately he hits both of them causing both Legzy and Lazlow to spin off the track. (VDA) lele could have used more caution in approaching the scene as he would have been able to see several cars in the middle of an incident. However, it did appear that he had space as he approached and that space disappeared at the last moment. This incident was a big one that involved many cars in a short space of time and it would have been difficult for any of the drivers involved to avoid contact. Therefore only advice for (VDA) lele will be issued for lack of caution when approaching the scene of an accident.

Server replay time: 1937s

Legzy and (VDA) lele approach the turn in for a corner just about side by side. Legzy has the inside line and gets his car just ahead of the car of lele before braking. Legzy goes wide and makes slight contact with lele. Legzys rear just clips leles front end. This does not cause lele much trouble but, lele losses control accelerating from the scene. Legzy was in front on turn in and would have made the corner without the contact and lele had given Legzy racing room. Therefore this is a racing incident. I would like to point out that Legzy once again showed a high level of sportsmanship by waiting for lele and loosing many places while doing so. This is despite the fact that lele did not wait for Legzy after a racing incident early in the same race. Although that is not an offence, please remember that the use of high level sportsmanship adds to the fun of the races.

Race: 20:40 (27 laps (about 40mins)) note: no warmup!

Cars allowed: Any 906, 911 RSR 3L, 911 RSR IROC, 914

Weather: Dry
Track: Road Atlanta (v1.0.0.0, download here)
Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING

Minimum Pit-stops: None required.

Server: [PnG2.1] UKPnG S1
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here, 2.1 patch from here and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) Remember that P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function, but our gentleman's agreement is that everyone will stick to a speed limit for the pit-lane of 40mph/60kph.

IMPORTANT
UKPnG Season One will continue to use our 'clubmans' approach, the idea that the faster drivers are in the slower cars, as hopefully it should encourage more close racing.

The cars chosen can be divided into 4 chassis groups:

A
Porsche 906-8

B
Porsche 906-6, Porsche 906-Langcheck, Porsche 906-E

C
Porsche 911 RSR 3L

D
Porsche 911 IROC, Porsche 914

Our "regulars" can be, very roughly divided into Four groups. (If you're name's not listed below & you'd like to race with us, please say Hi on this thread & give us an idea of your pace Smiley

GROUP 1 can only choose from slowest chassis group D
Dan Minton, Madd, Paul 968, Ginsters, PR, Steve Holmes, Jos Verstappen, TrueTom, Jose Arrogantio, Ayrton4_94, Manteos, Pippomax, Blunder, API, IvAlAx, Ade, lelero.

GROUP 2  can choose between chassis C and D.
Ade, Oily, [Poodle]Keith, FMG, Watty, phspok, MJ, Mike Cook, Lazlow, Legzy, Pepz, SamB, Psuedo, icarus17, KING.

GROUP 3 can choose between chassis B, C and D.
DaveShep, Spanner, Tinman, Geoffers, Ross, Phil Gilliland, Tibernius, Picnic, 57Goldtop, Lars Sch, Mcfids, Tim Robey.

GROUP 4 can choose between chassis A, B, C and D.
PaulWBird, Alex vV, Wiltshire Tony, LigelC, Sandor Mooijekind, Lorenzo Galluzzi, Bill Thomas, Oilseal, Jimmer.

Hope you all enjoy.

One of my favourite tracks. Cool Porsche 911RSR please. Wink

(Any particular reason why this is in the UKGTR section instead of the P&G one?)

I used to drive Honda NSX GTs and modified Tommy Kaira Skylines at Road Atlanta when I still played Forza. So it depends whether they've narrowed the track for this one.

Dont worry Tibs, i served up mr legzy a big slice of humble pie by setting the quickest laptime this eve....in an RSR  Wink  Grin

Great fun on the server tonight with several of the lads and we seemed to turn it into a 911 frenzy with RSRs and IROCs. A right blast. Cool

1:28.171 in the RSR
1:30.784 (i think?) in the IROC or was it 1:31 ?

IROC feels brilliant fun around here with tons of opposite lock and steering inputs. Yeehaw  Cool

I might have to postpone my bday so i can race  Wink

I'm still choking on my slice of pie, but in the meantime I've updated the available cars list.

We're going to have a Porka only race.

While this is obviously just a futile attempt to keep MJ quiet for the rest of the year Lips Sealed Wink, it will also have the benefit of allowing us more time to choose/perfect what will be our new Clubmans system, ready for the next race.

See Post No.2 for full car details.

NOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo! How can I drive the IROC if it's in group C?  taz Can't we make the 906-8 group A and move everything down?

To be honest, the 914 might be just as quick as the IROC here - the first few corners are a bit of a nightmare for the lardy arsed porker.

Actually, that works much better. All cars now moved down one group (so everyone gets a better car if they want it) Cool. Thanks Paul.

Hmm, a real mixed blessing for moi.  Undecided On the one hand its  but on the other, theres a fair chance i wont be home to race it  :'(  I'll have to decline all attempts to get me into a pub and restaurant on my bday. Perhaps i can play the grumpy old git who doesnt want to celebrate it as it makes me even older than i was  Grin

The cars chosen are a real joy around here. The track feels like half rally special tarmac stage, half race track to me. Despite its narrowness in places i vaguely remember having a cracking race here many moons ago in GTL using american cars. Shocked Those final two sweeping downhill rights, like black ski runs!, were ace for having the back end hanging out in full power drift.  thumbup1

I hope we dont alienate some drivers though by having an all Porsche line up  Undecided despite it being a fantastic set of cars in P&G  Cool Not quite sure what other car you could put into the mix that would be comparable on handling & pace around here to keep any anti-porker fans enchanted. Undecided
