I was planning to only take fuel at my stop so when I passed Ruskus I started trying to conserve my tires. Had less than 10 wear on my rears when I came in but forgot to change my selection to “No Change” so ended up getting four unwanted tires and wasting a load of time, stupid error.
Hit with a wet fish Hit with a wet fish Hit with a wet fish
Came out behind Ruskus and was able to close on him slightly but some small mistakes and collecting a spun GT3 meant the gap was pretty much constant at about 5 to 6 seconds.
My charge was halted when my screen went black and everything froze for about 8 seconds on the exit of turn 1. After that I was cruising slowly round to the finish a bit paranoid about it freezing again.
Gutted not to get the win. Had a chance to beat the mighty Ruskus and messed it up with a stupid mistake.

Hey guys. Thank you for the warm welcome  laugh
Tom Ostry told me about this league a while back so I said I should give it a try.
Very nice battle with H@L - btw mate your gearbox was really good. If possible I'd like your setup. Oh I was lucky with your ghost  Cheesy

I broke my PB with the M3 at Valencia. I didn't expect a time like this, though when I saw Jeffrey's 1.32.1, I knew it's gonna be tricky.
The race was very competitive and I didn't think the M3 will be this much slower than Lambo and 430. Guys behind me were obviously faster and when I made a mistake a couple of them went by. Than I hit a ghost in the last turn and it threw me out in the sand, lost good seconds in there, plus the long straight.
I didn't had time to test other cars so I went for a safer choice.
I'll give it a shot in the other cars as well, so I hope to see you next Sunday.

Cristi.

A usual opening laps close with H@l, it's a tradition, really. Cheesy  Then Legzy, equal pace until my tyres were off, well driven, Legz. Cool
Panoz uses tyres like water, had hard fronts and med rears, even so the temps were a bit too high. I never saw any car that would eat tyres as much, at half I had fronts about 27 and rears about 22.  no  Point is, the car didn't feel as slow, though laptimes show a different picture. I keep telling me I don't know the car yet... Wink

Well done, winners. Smiley

A race of two halves for me. Thought qualifying went relatively well, improving on my time from practice by over a second, but still ended up dead last in class and seemingly miles off the pace. Just about stuck with the other GT3 cars in the opening laps, with Lazlow seemingly holding the field up, but as my front tyres wore I gradually slipped back. Eventually Lazlow took on the uncharacteristic role of Sir Falloffalot, but API and Picnic ahead were getting away quite rapidly, and the only person I was really battling was Smokey in his wayward M3.

Stopped bang on half way - tyre wear was such that there was no other sensible strategy - but by the time the stops had shaken out, I had a healthy gp over API, and no shot at Picnic's Z3M. I knew API's 811 would be a lot quicker until his tyres wore so I pushed hard, trying not to be too kind to the lapping GT2s, and to ignore Smokey's inconsistently faster M3 (which I nearly ran into the back of in turn 1 at one point!). API was drawing inexorably closer, and I was on badly worn rubber, but the clock expired about 5 minutes earler than he needed, and somehow we had a Team Shark 1-2 in class. Grin

Sorry for confusion on parade lap Dave, I accidently flashed you trying to find limiter (I've had to reintall program, and re-assigned buttons). I did not pass you as I was supposed to be at back.

I didn't even notice that flash, I knew you were out of position and in a faster class car so I was desperately trying to get you to go past on the formation lap so I didn't have to deal with you at the start. Cheesy

Really big sorry to Peter Allnutt for slamming your rear end at end of second lap. Just came over crest into last turn, was up inside Dave, and got a little airbourne with brakes on,

That was a scary moment and a half!

Really big sorry to Peter Allnutt for slamming your rear end at end of second lap. Just came over crest into last turn, was up inside Dave, and got a little airbourne with brakes on, I fully understand if a report goes in, totally my fault.

I suddenly saw this car looming very large in my mirrors, I hadn't even realised you were passing Dave let alone passed him! Still no harm done, we didn't fall off and the damage didn't seem to slow me down. Thanks for the apology Smiley

Not sure what happened to Lazlow, in the early stages I could see him 3 or 4 cars in front while he played with the slower GT2s but as they cleared off I expected him to slowly cruise away, probably taking API with him but that didn't happen. Perhaps the tyres went off as both API and myself closed and we had a few very close laps racing. Great stuff Smiley After Lazlow finally pushed too hard and fell back I could keep up with API but never had the pace to attempt a clean pass, partially because I was continuing to short shift everywhere after my fuel fiasco at the last round, and partly because I knew API would need fuel at the stop so a safe pass would happen then.

So after the pit stops the second half of the race was a bit tedious, keep the pace reasonable and let the GT2s passed. Shame the turn out for the GT3s is waning, but I'm enjoying the car (most of the time) so roll on the 2nd half of the season.

I race in the smaller field in the 'Upper Endurance' events & know exactly how you feel Pete.
It would be great if some of the people not going for (or in the thick of) the GT2 Championship could think about driving a GT3 car (& some GT1 drivers to GTC) to even out the field a bit.
Also, some of the guys struggling to control the overpowered GT1's & GT2's will have a much more enjoyable race staying on the track with GTC's & GT3's.

Just my opinion/suggestion & not trying to force anybody to do anything Smiley

Managed to equal my qualy from last time here with a 1:33.3 (just two 10th's off the lap record) earning a measly 7th on the grid Shocked. But with H@L & TT lined up behind me, I figured is was just a matter of time before they came past.

Made a good start & clung onto the back of Simon for quite a few laps without being able to trouble him. While the gap back to H@L & TT increasing just slightly with each lap as they fought. But then TT seemed to break free of H@L & started applying the pressure. Each lap was the same pattern, I had a whole lap of twisties to get the gap upto about 1sec before he'd hunt me down on the straight & I started having to get a bit defensive on the 1st/2nd corners to keep hold of 6th position Wink

Pitted just after half way having led for the 1st time ever in a race (even if it was just for a lap Grin), came out in 5th & watched SBG close the gap while my tyres warmed up. Then managed to fend him off my rear bumper for about five laps, before I started to think it would be better to let him past & secure 6th rather then risk losing it & dropping down the field possibly damaged... a few corners later I accidentally ran wide. I moved to cover but decided it was the time to let him through (not sure it would have been much longer anyway)  & it was at that moment I heard chicken clucking noises over Team Speak  lol (Team Mate Lazlow had exited out & was apparently watching from the pits! LOL). I managed to stick with Ginsters for longer then I expected, but he was better through the traffic & then just better. But I was happy because I secured 6th spot comfortably.

Not a lot of overtaking, but some most enjoyable close racing  Smiley

Well done all finishers.

p.s. Come on MJ, what's happening? I'm missing our this season. Sad

I'd been considering this, but wasn't aware that we were able to change mid season. I drove some of the GTC cars around Hock after the race and they were much more manageable and enjoyable for me. Would the few points I've accumulated to date in GT1 and GT2 be wiped if I were to change? I wouldn't really want to lose any team points.

Decided to try left foot braking for the first time yesterday...which improved my lap times by 0.5 sec...but made my driving a bit eratic and unpredictable....I think I must of span off about 6 times, once right in front of a GT2 car Embarrassed because of this I thought it best to exit the race....didn't much matter though as I still finished 4th Grin.

I agree with "picnic", shame about the turn out for the GT3's...allthough I did find it fun trying to stay ahead of the GT2 cars.

See you all at the next one

No points previously earned would be lost.  Smiley

Personally I've all but given up trying to drive GT1's for now, they require a level of ability I simply don't have yet. I ended up quite frustrated with going off regularly & was nearly always on my own at the back of the class. I'm less of a hazzard in the other classes too Grin Grin

Good race, decided (Legzy) to run T2, as so far I have been the slowest of the slow group, and spent
big chunks of "race" trying desperately to get out of the way of the hugely faster fast group leaders
when I ran G3.
Had a great 1st half slowwwllyyyy pulling away from JPS, then having a wobble somewhere and him
catch up to a sec or less, then inch away again, wobble/catch etc etc. As usual lost more than 30 secs in the stops
This bothers me, I always, and I mean always lose at least 30 secs in the stops in GTL or GTR2
I even tried running hard rears at the last event, and only swapping the fronts, stil lost 30 secs
from where I was before I went in. What are you guys doing? adding 20 litres fuel and changing
only fronts or something?
Anyroadup, had set 1 stop in the setup. and taken no damae hit return as soon as the board came up
and came out 30 secs behind JPS, when I had been 3 secs in front before the stop.
he then helpfully fell off and now I was a few secs behind trying to catch, odd, I was able to
inch away before stops, now he was pulling away, if you didnt change all tyres how did you mae this  Shocked
