Moderator's Report

Drivers who overspent their seasons Token Allocation

  • (VDA) MinholoSadvice — Tokens Debt = 2 Tokens — 10.0 championship point(s)
  • Truetomadvice — Tokens Debt = 4 Tokens — 20.0 championship point(s)

Server replay time: 150s

Matt Rowe badly misjudges his approach to turn three on lap one of the race. He makes contact with Lelero who in turn can not avoid colliding with Manteos. Both VDA drivers end up losing five or six places as a result.
I accept Matt's explanation for not waiting in this instance with 28 cars on the track and know from first-hand experience he has waited in other circumstances. Given that Matt must have realised he was responsible for the accident, he might have considered a self-imposed drive through instead. (Easy I know with hindsight to suggest).
Given that the accident occurred on the first lap where drivers are urged to be cautious, I have no option but to impose the two place penalty prescribed.

All members welcome

Practice 1: 20:00 (10 mins)
Qual 2: 20:10 (20 mins)
Race: 20:30 (38 laps (about 60mins)) note: no warmup!

Cars allowed: See next post down for full details

Weather: Variable
Track: Birmingham GP (Barber Long) (v1.0.0.0, download HERE )
Time of Day Setting: 08:00
Start: STANDING

Minimum Pit-stops: One required.

Server: [PnG2.1] UKPnG S1
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here, 2.1 patch from here and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) Remember that P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function, but our gentleman's agreement is that everyone will stick to a speed limit for the pit-lane of 40mph/60kph.

1300 = Junior
1600 = GTA
1600(+) = Volumetrico

The Junior is not included in our Tokens car choices, the other two are.

Yup, you're quite right. My mistake. Sorry. Thanks for letting me know & now amended.  Smiley.
I'll have to take even more car with those Vette's!

Legzy I have 79 tokens left with 6 more races left - 6X12 = 72 should leave me with 7; or are you assuming I go for 6X13 = 78?
The tokens forecast is just a quick glance guide to see how in debt/credit you are, if you spend your personal average for each remaining race till the end of season. So for you personally Bill, that's 6 (races) x 13 (your average Tokens per race) = 68... but you have 69 Tokens currently so you're 1 in credit  Smiley

Hope to make this one so have been learning the circuit.  Decided to use the cheapest P906 (a red one) but it turns 'black' quite a few times during a lap.  Anyone know why this happens, is it my settings maybe?

To Tony & Legzy:  In my opinion the tokens are a great idea.  thumbup2   Now even I cannot afford to keep taking the quickest car available from the race selection - which is what I have basically been doing up to now.

So all being well I'll see you on the 8th

EDIT - Just worked out what it was. It was a 'formatting screen resolution type problem'. To solve it, I've removed the E-Type Lightweight 4-Speed from the problem line (cars the value of 8 Tokens), formatting should now show correctly on everybody's PC's Smiley

Saw the pic MJ, very fancy  drool(for a few seconds, I even imagined I could get one...). Must have cost a few tokens? Let me know & if it's more then your 'average', then I can make sure you have less for the next race  Tongue Wink

Wow, what a fantastic track that is !  Cool Had never driven it before but its a real peach for these classic race cars.

Tried out 3 very different cars and they were all great fun. Im in low 47's with a couple of the cars in the 7-9 token bracket  Kiss

This should make for a great race with all the terrific roller coaster corners.  Cool

Thanks for the nice comments on my new toy. Just found out it was a Porsche-world magazine front cover featured machine in the past  Cool
Been putting it through its paces in the last few days...great fun!  Smiley

Madd, just to confirm, they were with full race fuel online too.  Smiley

Love this track, will have to take the IROC/RSR around it just for the fun of it !...but would i want to use up my precious tokens in the actual race, eh?  shifty

Actually thats the only problem this token system throws up. Its very hard to predict what your fellow competitors may take, to guarantee you can have your usual good fun racing your usual combatants Undecided Because we have the whole car range available and people will place different priorities on what race track they want to use a certain car at.

Apart from the evil handling cars, i think i would enjoy driving any classic race car around here  Cool
