I'm a bit thick, so I need some help. I wanna join D2 in Sunday and as I'm D1 I wanna race in G2. So, Seat is out :'( , and Porsche is the best in G2 class, right? If not, or others are equally fast I'd like to know which cars do you recommend. By the way, Porsche G2 sucks big time, I never spinned as much even first time on track when I got the game...

From https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=1"Driver Registration Status Drivers who are registered as full time in one division, may enter the other division's races, using the reserve joining procedure, in a G3 or G2 car. Drivers who are reserves may join either division's races, and may take a car in any class."

Also, from here: Car Classes
The Corvette and G2 Viper will be classified as GT cars, and eligible for GT points. The 911 Bi-Turbo, Mosler, Vertigo and Morgan will be classified as N-GT cars, and eligible for N-GT points. The Seat Toledo will be classified as G2. The Elise, Z3M and GT3 Cup will be classified as G3. There is no Porsche which is classified G2 for UKGTR purposes. Full time drivers in the "wrong" Endurance division may take the SEAT if they wish, but most prefer to run in G3 with the Z3M or GT3 Cup as they are then eligible for G3 points.

Hm, I'm a bit mixed up, it stays G2 for a Porsche in the "monitor" menu in the game, and UKGTR clasifies it differently? Ok, doesn't matter, I'll try some GT3 Cup and if it won't suit me I'll take a Seat. I like it, and to hail with the points. 90 minutes is fun. Rain would be cool...

Yes, the game classifies according to the original FIA classifications, we classify according to performance over race distance, partly to try and encourage a wider selection of cars, and partly because those cars are available throughout the whole season, where in real life they only competed in one or two special events.

Right, I tried some laps in GT3 Cup and I'll be joining a race in Sunday. Will anybody else take this car? It says it can go 90 minutes with 100 l of fuel...

To be honest the tyres were fine and could have done the whole race. As it turned out I was the only G3 driver left towards the end so pitted for a smoke.

Fingers double crossed for a dry race. I really don't fancy 90 mins of Eau Rouge in the wet! Pops

Given the special early start for tonights lengthy encounter in the Belgian forests, reserves and G3 drivers can join with 5 mins to go in practice 1 as normal, however this is 8:25pm in this case. I'll let you know in game what the weather dice have rolled for us tonight although if it's rain you'll probably already know!
