Moderator's Report

Matt, Tony and Chris have sorted the strange case of the errant chat message out via the incident reports and I completely accept Matt's explanation. Nothing more to say on this one.

Server replay time: 2534s

It is the very last part of the race. Manteos has been seeking a way past Jose for half a dozen or so laps and Jose has not been making this task at all easy. Manteos makes one last desperate effort to outbrake Jose and ends up making contact. Jose keeps his place but Manteos in his frustration loses many more places when the game does not see him finish well off the 'normal' line.
As Jose has requested no penalty, I shall rule a racing incident. Returning Manteos to his 7th place is beyond my remit but I shall pm Legzy and request he looks at the replay now that there will be no other penalty. (No promises about the outcome I'm afraid).

Using extreme skill and race craft  Wink  (honest)  I probably had the best start of anyone, managing to blast my way up to 10th just before the end of the first lap.
All systems where go…the car was feeling good with the extra fuel, and 11th /12th was a good place to be in my L76.  Nothing went wrong as such…but lap after lap the under steer become increasing bad….it just wasn’t much fun to drive either  Sad  every corner was becoming an issue. I tried to hold on the my postions…..so hard to defend with a car so slow in corners. Mann, i REALLY wanted to beat Ligel too > who had been in my mirrors for a many laps…..but could I hold on. NO!  I blame the L76….!    Roll Eyes
I hope I have enough tokens for a GT350R in the next race.

grats to the top three.

Sounds like the last few races which had close knit car groups have been enjoyed far more than the earlier races where you could use a car from the whole field!

I think that would support my theory that the less cars you use, the closer the racing becomes. Sounds obvious I suppose but that's why single spec races are generally enjoyed.
What Legzy is trying to do is maintain the closeness whilst increasing the car pool. In time this will be an easier juggle to pull off as the last couple of events show.

I'd been looking forward to getting back to racing after a project crunch period at work so it was great to be in this excellent race.

Qualified in a lowly 17th in a my E-type but clawed my way up to finish in a very, very close 10th. Brilliant wheel to wheel racing throughout especially with Legzy and Matt for a barnstorming finish Smiley

Thanks all.

Agree with all the previous comments, this race was a cracker. I've never had so much fun finishing 13th Cheesy

Made a mess of lap1, braking to late for double right half way around the lap & taking to the grass. Then had great fun working my way up the field until I bumped Mcfids into a spin at the last turn, sorry Mcfids. Waited for him to repass & had to do all the overtaking again. Just failed to catch the Legzy/Mcfids/Matt battle at the end. But all great fun, especially the long snakes of cars circulating in midfield all looking for an overtaking opportunity  thumbup1

Congrats to the podium & three cheers for Legzy & Tony  I Am Not Worthy

Sorry to disagree, but I don't think the token limits had that much to do with it. The big difference was the tracks, as the first 3 were quite unusual - either favouring big power or agility. Since the token values were made based on normal tracks they didn't work, and only a handful of cars worked well for their value. The last 3 races have been more representative of typical tracks, with a mix of power and handling needed, so the range of competitive cars was much greater. Go look at the results anyway - the vast bulk of the cars in the first 3 were within the same 9 point spread as the recent races, and even when given a bigger spread nobody went below 3 at mid america.

Appologies to anyone I put off if I had inadvertantly hit "Ctrl C" while I was desperately trying to get back
into my own car while parked in the grass! I was trying every key except "Esc" to try to get back.
Please read my previous post if you are 1: Interested, and 2: don't know what I'm talking about  Smiley

Having watched the replay, I must appologise to Ade who was probably wondering what I was doing
drifting off the track while slowing down  Shocked

Had a fun race having had no chance to practice until race day. I knew the alpine was strong, but it is boring to drive and would limit my options at riverside. The GTA was a tad cheaper and still seemed quickish, so went with that. Got a good start and passed several cars in he first few corners, but then got pushed onto the grass at T4 and lost them all  Roll Eyes I then ended up in the thick of the midfield melee, which was great fun while it lasted. Had a good battle with Keith for a bit, and once past it was then Legzy's rather quicker transam I had to beat. We had several great laps with the lead swapping places only for his monster to come roaring past into T1. In the end I made it stick earlier in the lap and he was too far back come the straight to respond - excellent fun  laugh After that I was battling understeer in the alfa, so the only places I made were due to people falling off. 9th was about right for me there considering the lack of prep, but it leaves Lele and Lazlow as clear favourites for the championship. Riverside will be interesting  Smiley

Just wanted to add my voice to the ...
'the last 3 token races have been excellent'

I have no idea if as Paul says it is down to more even tracks ? but would like to think it reflects the effort the guys, Legz and Tony have been putting in. If this continues then I will be voting for the system we have been running for the last 3 races.
If that means Season 2 tracks are picked to be more even then even better!
Let's all remember this is the trial season 1 ! We have had ups and downs but I think we seem to be hitting the mark of late.
Encouraging for the future.

As per the incident report resolution kindly provided by Prof:
We have looked at the finish & decided that Manteos should be reinstated correctly to his 7th position finish. Done.
