Server replay time: 585s

Tim Robey is recovering from a separate incident when he is challenged by two cars as a result of his loss of speed. One driver passes then the other driver, [VDA] King, lines up for a pass on Tim taking the inside line in a braking zone. Once in the braking zone, Tim, who is on the outside line, moves toward the inside line a little just as King gets close to Tim. This happens before either car is in position to start turning in for the corner. This catches King off guard. King has to take avoiding action and is unable to take the corner and leave enough room for Tim. They have side by side contact on the corner and Tim is knocked off track and looses a great deal of time.

Tim’s move toward the inside line from the outside in the braking zone does seem very aggressive. Tim’s car moves from the inside line to the outside line by a distance that is about equal to the width of his car. Tim’s side ways movement is the cause of this incident. Tim did loose out very badly in the race from this incident and it was not reported by the victim. As a result of this Tim Robey will have no penalty.

King was not at fault here. He did about all that he could to prevent a more serious incident than the one that occurred. Hence no penalty will be issued to King.

  • Tim Robeyadvice — No drastic sideways movements in braking zones
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Grrrrr... that race was going really well until a lapse of concentration put me on the grass on the RHer after the chicane. A big collision with the barriers ensued & the car only wanted to turn left afterwards, so I couldn't even get back to the pits for repairs & had to retire.

I set a PB in qually which I thought would be good enough for the top 6, but was only good enough for 13th. First lap went OK until the final corner when I spun into the pitlane  Roll Eyes. Drove through (luckily no speed limit in P&G) & rejoined 21st. Gained a couple of spots the next lap, then several cars had a big coming together at the chicane, I picked my way through & went from 19th to 11th! Grin

After that, every time I caught someone they seemed to make a mistake & let me past. I think I was up to 8th just behind MJ when the concentration went walkabout!

Congrats to Goldtop on your first win & look forward to the next P&G race  Cool

Now it's a rolling start (cos its safer). Bunkum I say.
Your'e making changes to suit the drivers who dont have the patience to wait and would prefer to win a race on the first corner.
Come on guys lets get back to some ground roots racing.
Lets try rewarding the guys who stay on circuit and show the concentration and racecraft to go the full race distance.
I've been here an awful long time and I keep hearing how good we all are at racing. Sorry to burst your bubble but most of the guys here can't keep a car out of the wall for more than a few laps. Oh yes you are quick but at what cost. In most races I qualify at the back of the grid. Strange then that in most races I make up to ten places by Lap 2. That is of course if I haven't been knocked off by someone at the front of the grid who goes off at T1 and then pushes his way back to the front using slower drivers as a braking system.

As the saying goes.........just my twopennorth.
Oilseal
Hi Oilseal,
Like Tony said, thank you for taking the time to give us your "just my twopennorth".
I'm sure that even with your patient approach, having had your race ended by that chicane on lap five... you can now understand our decision. Smiley

I actually owe everyone an apology for last nights track. When I spent the time testing the track I was doing it all in the Abarth, F275 & 906... all cars which it would seem don't have a big issue with "that Chicane". I did not see the effect of attempting to drive a big car through there till about Friday (Basically you almost can't get them through Roll Eyes). That left us in the unfortunate position of knowing, there is no way a dozen cars could all competitively get through that chicane (even if all driven by Gary Lineker on his best behaviour). By this point we are left with very few options on what we can do with the race (a race to the 1st chicane only, would not be a success in our eyes). Rest assured that rolling starts are not something Tony or I are wanting to see regularly or at all. I hope you all now appreciate that announcing a rolling start was a reluctant 'making the best of it' type decision.
Meanwhile I'm now in a panic about the next track  Wink Wink
Cheers
Chris

It has been an absolute joy to read all your post race comments today chaps:

Had great battles with Lele and API in their US muscle cars. Cool They left me for dead on the straights while i was all over them in the corners, the eternal struggle ! Got by both with some nifty up the inside overtakes over many laps. Great clean racing chaps  Smiley
Very enjoyable! Had some brilliant battles with AndyC and Paul particularly!
That was one of my best races for a long time. That was one of those epic handling versus power battles, like Falcons and Mustangs versus Alfas and Cortinas at Dijon. Cool If only it had been an endurance I'd have been leading by a country mile after the pit stops. laugh
That race was great fun Grin with some intense battles. I wish every race could be so entertaining. Wink
If one of the aims of this series was to give slower drivers like myself the chance to run at the front and experience the feelings of excitement/tension/nerves/hope that I enjoyed last night, then it was definitely achieved here. Big thanks guys Smiley
I was always busy having a few and good scrapps with someone. The most intense was with Legzy's 906 (damn little annoying cars)  lol
Had a great scrap fending Andy and Blunder off in their 906s, and had numerous other fights with people, so the race was full on from start to finish and highly enjoyable. In the end I ran out of time chasing Lele and API - oh for one more lap!
Congrats to Goldtop on your first win & look forward to the next P&G race  Cool

Despite the obvious pain in the butt Chicane Roll Eyes you all seem to have made the best of it & I too had a fantastic race! Grin

Was up near the front for a couple of laps, then made a mess of the last turn & ended up facing the oncoming cars, right in the middle of the start finish straight! About six did well to skim past me & I turned her & got going again in 9th. Made up a couple of places & then had about 7 laps of the finest racing with PR & his GT40, well done mate... Classic racing at its best I thought  Cool
When you finally flashed me through, I did wonder if I'd rather just stay there & fight to the end but assumed you'd had enough  lol
Had a couple of other mini scraps before finding myself a little on my own with 5 laps to go, so eased off to wait for MJ to catch me (thinking we'd have a good fight to the finish) & let him in front... I then couldn't catch the cheeky little monkey! Tongue
Possibly need a photo finish with Blunder too  whistling

I think there is a hole in the track in the middle of the last turn, I noticed AI cars dropping a wheel into it in offline practice. It isn't very big & most laps you miss it, but if you catch it wrong it makes the back step out. I think thats what got me on lap 1.

I assumed that was a big camber change if you drop a wheel onto the pit entry lane. I learned the hard way to avoid it like the plague!

Yeah, I kind of found the whole pit lane entry just dead slippy. Lead to a couple of nice drifts with the car I can tell you  Cool Grin

It's never enough when we are racing with/against fair and good drivers.  Smiley
Due to a not brilliant setup, my tires went off by then, after your high pressure.
Too much understeering entering corners and oversteering exiting, more than usual at least.
The brakes weren't in a superb shape aswell. I began to brake a bit earlier too.
Before I made a mistake that could compromise both races, I felt it was fairly enough
to let you go at that stage and see if I could stay with you and try a move later on.
Maybe I could hold you a bit more for more fun tho. We were so closed on the corners sections,
yet I always felt secure and confidence by your driving skills.  Smiley

It was a great race for sure.  Smiley

I did warn you all about the chicane and that last turn that drags you into the pit lane if you took the inside line !  Tongue I saw it grab 'Geoffers'? early on when he was right in front of me, as i am sure he had no intention of pitting that early  Grin

Legz you actually disturbed my flow ! I had finally broken free of the two yank muscle cars and started to pump in some much faster lap times and was hoping to catch Prib in the final third of the race...then you appeared with your erratic orange 906 and i couldnt work out what the heck you were doing and assumed you were damaged, hence the reason you had fallen back into my clutches. Never let me in front in a 911...i wont be hanging around   Wink

I'm still alarmed at DG enjoying driving a 911 hehe, if i had a quid for every time he's dissed them  Kiss Good pace though Dave  Smiley

Well I just about managed to get my PC up and running with PnG installed! Did about as well as I expected in qually, I was last but 1 I think. I took it nice and steady at the start, I wasnt sure if there was a rolling lap, then rolling up to the chicane on lap 2, so I was a little late to start flooring it and was done by a Porsche 914! (I was in a 906). Even so, people were falling off all over the place! Not what I was overly expecting Smiley

I managed to get upto around 14th place, this was mainly due other's misfortune. My downfall was a tremendous lack of experience on PnG. According to the setup screen, I could only get enough fuel in for 18 laps, so I decided to fill up for 10 laps then fill up another 10 in the pits. Only problem was I could'nt tell how many laps I had done. So I just kept going, basically I needed to pit on lap 10. Eventually I just ran out of fuel not knowing how many laps I had done.
I could'nt seem to get the on screen HUD to display in the cockpit view, is there a way to do that? Or at least know how many laps you have done?

Turns out I did 14 LAPS on 10 laps worth of fuel, so if I filled er up I probably would have made it ! DOH!

Apart from all that I thouroughly enjoyed my time on track. These cars have a really nice feel to them. Looking forward to the next one.

Hope I did not get in anyones way!

Cheers,
          Bully.
