2.09.8 after 3 laps... not a bad start with the z06, that seems a furious washing machine! I hope only to bring it to the end... but I don't know if the "cement tyres" of the third corner will agree with me

I have no clutch pedal so will just be selecting 1st when the lights go green and flooring it.
Program a button on the keyboard for the clutch Clive. When lights change release it.

What time does practice/race start? Are times in GMT? I'd like to join the race. Do I have to register somewhere?

I either forget to put it in first gear before the lights or the guy in front gets way verrryyy slowly I've still not decided what to drive tonight, I wanted to drive something different so was going to try the L88, but finding it frustrating to drive, so may fall back on the Cobra 289 (W). I did try the 350GT (CASC) but I was only lapping 2:15's.

I presume that the clutch release from a button will be quicker than the treacle filled gearbox finding 1st gear? Naa I wouldn't bother, just get away cleanly. The E-Type is quicker on the straight and turns better but is slower than the Cobra over a lap.

Practice starts at 8pm UK time, race ~8:30pm (currently GMT). It is worth checking you can connect to the server before then. No registration needed, the password is at the top of this page.

Thanks for the reply Tim. I now understand the timing from Post #1. It wasn't clear to me at first. I'll take a bit of time off from work today to hop on the server for a quick race with you guys. I'm from Connecticut, USA so racing smack dab in the middle of the day can be tricky. I'll read the thread to get a sense of what people are driving. I don't want to come in last race of the season with a bucket full of tokens and not make things fair.

I don't want to come in last race of the season with a bucket full of tokens and not make things fair. You've got the idea perfectly. It's the final race of the season & the title is up for grabs, but as long as the server is not 100% full (which it wasn't at the last couple of races), it will be great to have you with us I suggest you pick a car from the available list that you're going to be able to lap at about 2:10 pace (don't quote me on that ) & you should have a fun race hopefully. The download link for the track is also available in the first post of the thread. Do shout up if you have any problems & we'll try to help out.

No I've not tried the E-type, I will give it a try when I get home tonight. I tried it for the last race, but ditched it as I was much quicker in the Cobra 289 Roadster.

I can only think that the Cobra accelerates better. I was on the server last night with the 275GTB & was left for dead by the Corvettes but the 275 does 147mph on the straight, compared to the Cobra which I can only get to 141!

Cobra has much more power to weight, so should accelerate quicker. Lower weight also means it should have an advantage cornering and braking, although tyres are a big factor in this.

Is that the concrete ones on the left of T4/5 or the ones attached to your car?
